Born From Bell Canada: How Ateko Turned BCE’s Services Business Into a New Company

Ateko is not a Bell spin-off or a standalone software startup. It is a Bell-owned enterprise technology-services business assembled from several acquisitions, including FX Innovation, HGC Technologies and CloudKettle, then launched under one brand on May 6, 2025.

Led by FX Innovation co-founder Guillaume Bazinet, Ateko provides consulting, systems integration, cloud, data, artificial intelligence and managed services across ServiceNow, Salesforce, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. Its stated ambition is to build a more than $1 billion business by 2030, although that remains management’s target rather than an independently verified forecast.

What is Ateko?

Ateko is a Bell-backed IT-services and systems-integration company focused on enterprise digital transformation. It helps organizations implement, connect, modernize and operate major business platforms rather than selling a standalone software product of its own.

Its stated services include advisory work, implementation, cloud migration, integration, data modernization, artificial-intelligence enablement, governance, platform operations and managed services. The company emphasizes ongoing optimization and support after deployment, not only one-time implementation projects.

Ateko’s principal technology ecosystems are:

  • ServiceNow: IT service management, IT operations, asset management, security operations, customer-service workflows and field-service transformation.
  • Salesforce: CRM implementation, customization, integration, sales, service and customer-experience workflows.
  • AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud: Cloud migration, modernization, infrastructure, data platforms, analytics and operations.
  • Databricks and Snowflake: Data engineering, analytics, governance and foundations for enterprise AI.

Ateko says it has worked with ServiceNow since 2012, a claim that reflects the history of the businesses incorporated into the new brand. Its service portfolio is described at Ateko’s corporate site and service pages.

Ateko’s acquisition timeline

The phrase “born from Bell Canada” is useful shorthand, but it can also be misleading. Ateko was not simply carved out of one Bell department. Bell used acquisitions to assemble a technology-services platform and then gave that platform a common identity.

Date Development Why it mattered
2023 Bell acquired FX Innovation. The Montreal-based systems integrator became a central part of the new platform. Guillaume Bazinet, Ateko’s CEO, co-founded FX Innovation.
2024 Bell-backed expansion added HGC Technologies and CloudKettle. HGC strengthened ServiceNow capabilities, while CloudKettle added Salesforce expertise.
November 2024 The HGC acquisition was completed, according to Bazinet. It broadened the specialist base before the public Ateko launch.
May 6, 2025 Bell unveiled the Ateko brand. The acquired capabilities were presented as one enterprise technology-services business.
July-August 2025 Ateko announced its acquisition of PAMT Consulting, expected to close August 1. The deal added further consulting capabilities.
December 3, 2025 Ateko announced the acquisition of SDK Tek Services. SDK added data engineering, analytics and AI-related capabilities across Microsoft, Databricks and Snowflake environments.

The acquisition disclosures are documented in BCE’s 2025 Annual Information Form, while Ateko announced the PAMT and SDK transactions on its PAMT and SDK pages.

Why Bell created a separate technology-services brand

Bell’s rationale was strategic as much as cosmetic. The company wanted a global IT-services and digital-transformation platform that could grow beyond traditional connectivity. The acquired businesses already had specialized expertise and relationships across enterprise software ecosystems. A single brand was intended to make that combined offering easier to sell internationally.

Operating Ateko separately was also meant to preserve the speed and technology-company culture of the acquired businesses. Bazinet described the strategy as narrower and deeper than that of a broad global systems integrator: focus on a limited number of important platforms and build substantial expertise around them.

Bell also gives Ateko a large “lighthouse customer.” The telecom company can provide complex operating environments in which solutions are tested, refined and then taken to outside customers. That creates a potential advantage in areas such as field service, customer service, workflow automation and telecom operations.

The trade-off is that Bell ownership can raise questions about neutrality. A prospective customer should ask how Ateko handles confidential information, conflicts of interest, subcontractors, data access and work for companies that compete with Bell.

Is Ateko independent from Bell?

Not in the ownership sense. According to the 2025 interview with Bazinet, Ateko remains fully owned by Bell Canada/BCE. It has a separate operating structure and its own profit-and-loss reporting, but available sources do not establish that it is an independent corporation in the way an unaffiliated public company would be.

At the time of that interview, Ateko reported through Bell Business Markets. Bell is therefore both parent and an important internal customer or reference account. The safest description is “Bell-owned technology-services platform” or “separate Bell-backed operating brand,” not “independent spin-off.”

Management also said the current plan was not an IPO or a sale of the business. The stated objective was to build value within the Bell family. That could change in the future, but it was not the plan disclosed in the available reporting.

What Ateko sells

ServiceNow services

Ateko’s ServiceNow offering covers IT service management, IT operations management, IT asset management, security operations, customer-service workflows and field-service transformation. It also describes advisory, implementation, platform evolution, integration, support and AI-enabled automation.

This is important because a ServiceNow project is rarely limited to configuring a software instance. The work can involve process redesign, identity, legacy-system integration, data quality, employee adoption and continuing platform governance. Ateko’s model is intended to remain involved after go-live through operations and optimization services.

Details are available on its ServiceNow services page.

Salesforce services

Through its Salesforce capabilities, Ateko offers implementation, customization, optimization, integration and support for sales, service and customer-experience workflows. The company also highlights work in regulated industries, where access controls, data handling and auditability can be as important as CRM functionality.

Cloud, data and AI

Ateko’s cloud and data practice spans AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, with additional Databricks and Snowflake capabilities. The stated services include migration, modernization, data platforms, analytics, data governance, DataOps, CloudOps, ModelOps and AI engineering.

That combination reflects a practical constraint on enterprise AI: useful AI normally depends on reliable data, clear permissions, integration with business workflows and an operating model for monitoring and improvement. SDK’s addition of data engineering and analytics therefore makes the broader AI proposition more credible in principle, although the acquisition itself does not prove the quality of every future deployment.

Managed operations

Ateko also offers ongoing monitoring and support, incident management, patching, security management, cloud optimization and platform improvement. Buyers should distinguish these services from software licenses and cloud consumption. A project may involve all three cost categories:

  • Licenses or platform subscriptions paid to ServiceNow, Salesforce or a cloud provider.
  • Implementation and integration fees paid to Ateko or another services firm.
  • Recurring managed-service, support and cloud-consumption charges.

Ateko does not publish a standard rate card in the available sources. Enterprise pricing is likely to depend on scope, geography, platform complexity, staffing, service levels and the amount of ongoing support required.

Bell as a test bed and reference customer

The inside-outside model is central to Ateko’s story. Inside Bell, the company can work with large-scale telecom operations; outside Bell, it can offer the resulting capabilities to enterprise and public-sector customers.

Bazinet told CRN that Bell’s relevant field operation involved approximately 12,000 employees and 6,000 trucks at the time of the interview. Those figures are interview-era statements, not current operating statistics.

The scale matters because field-service transformation is difficult to validate in a small demonstration. Bell can provide a large environment for scheduling, dispatch, customer communication, service-bridge integration and workflow automation. Ateko’s telecom materials also describe Bell-related ServiceNow deployments, but those are company claims and should be evaluated alongside customer references and measurable results.

For a telecom buyer, Bell experience may be a meaningful differentiator. For a bank, manufacturer or public agency, it is useful evidence of scale but not automatic proof that the same architecture will transfer cleanly to a different regulatory and operating environment.

How large is Ateko?

The most specific standalone figures in the available reporting come from Bazinet’s 2025 CRN interview. He described an organization of approximately 1,100 employees and between $250 million and $300 million in revenue at that time. The currency was not clearly specified in the supplied material, and both figures should be treated as historical interview disclosures rather than current 2026 numbers.

BCE later reported that three AI-powered-solutions businesses collectively generated approximately C$700 million in 2025 revenue, grew about 60% year over year and contributed to BCE’s target of C$1.5 billion in AI-powered-solutions revenue by 2028. That figure covers the group of businesses, not Ateko alone.

That distinction matters. It would be incorrect to report BCE’s C$700 million aggregate as Ateko’s standalone revenue or to infer Ateko’s margin, recurring-revenue mix, customer concentration, backlog or bookings from it.

Can Ateko become a billion-dollar business?

Bazinet’s stated ambition was to build a business exceeding $1 billion by 2030, initially concentrating on North America and potentially expanding into Europe and Asia later. That is a management aspiration, not an independent forecast.

The opportunity is substantial. Enterprises continue to need help integrating cloud infrastructure, CRM, workflow platforms, data estates and AI systems. The harder question is whether a newly unified brand can integrate its acquisitions, preserve specialist talent, maintain consistent delivery methods and compete for large multinational contracts.

Ateko faces competition from Accenture, Deloitte, Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services, NTT DATA, major cloud consultancies, platform-specific boutiques and the professional-services arms of the platforms themselves. Its focused model may appeal to buyers who want deep expertise without hiring a very large global integrator. It may be less attractive to organizations seeking one provider for every country, technology category and outsourcing function.

What enterprise buyers should evaluate

Ateko’s platform strategy can be attractive, but buyers should assess the actual delivery model rather than relying on brand positioning or partner certifications.

  1. Platform depth: Ask for named architects, certifications, relevant production examples and references in the same platform and industry.
  2. Implementation and operations: Confirm who owns the environment after launch, what is covered by the SLA and how improvement work is prioritized.
  3. Integration: Require a clear plan for legacy systems, identity, APIs, data migration, security and monitoring.
  4. AI evidence: Ask for the baseline, measurement period, population, accuracy definition, human-review process and independent validation behind any performance claim.
  5. Data governance: Review lineage, access controls, residency, retention, model governance and subcontractor arrangements.
  6. Bell relationship: Clarify confidentiality protections, conflict management and whether Bell-related intellectual property or operating assumptions affect the engagement.
  7. Commercial model: Separate fixed-price implementation assumptions from time-and-materials work, cloud costs, licenses and recurring managed-service fees.
  8. Exit planning: Require documentation, runbooks, configuration ownership, data portability and transition assistance before signing.

Ateko is likely a poor fit for a small business seeking a simple software subscription or a transparent, low-cost consulting package. Its services are aimed at organizations with complex platforms, substantial data estates or a need for continuing enterprise operations.

What the AI case studies do—and do not—prove

Ateko publishes case studies involving organizations including Bell Canada, National Bank, the Government of Prince Edward Island and NASCAR. Its AI materials cite one deployment involving 450,000 customer cases, 25% faster response times and 90% accuracy on AI-assisted cases.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Those are specific company-reported case-study results, not universal performance guarantees. Before using them to justify an investment, a buyer should ask what the baseline was, how “accuracy” was defined, how many cases were reviewed, what period was measured and whether the figures were independently validated.

The same caution applies to claims about first-of-kind ServiceNow deployments, global leadership or superior platform expertise. Partner status and certifications demonstrate ecosystem participation; they do not by themselves guarantee successful implementation.

Bottom line

Ateko is best understood as Bell’s specialized enterprise technology-services platform: new as a brand, established in capabilities, and assembled through acquisitions rather than created from a single Bell division.

Its main proposition is focused expertise across ServiceNow, Salesforce, cloud, data and AI, supported by Bell’s large operating environment and an expanding acquisition base. Its main uncertainties are equally important: standalone financial performance is not fully disclosed, the business remains Bell-owned, AI claims require customer-level validation and the brand must prove that its acquired capabilities operate as one coherent global services company.

For enterprise buyers, the right question is not simply whether Ateko is “independent” or “new.” It is whether Ateko can provide the platform depth, industry knowledge, governance, post-launch accountability and neutrality required for a particular transformation.
