The best 2023 offer depended on more than the advertised discount. Verizon tied its biggest savings to eligible trade-ins, qualifying unlimited plans, new lines and recurring bill credits. A “free” phone, tablet or watch could also require a long service commitment and separate connected-device lines.

The best Verizon Cyber Monday deal for each type of shopper

For most shoppers, the iPhone 15 Pro and Galaxy S23 Ultra deals offered the greatest headline value. They were worthwhile mainly for people who already needed Verizon service, had a qualifying trade-in and could keep the account eligible for the full credit period.

These offers were reported in TechRadar’s November 28, 2023 coverage. Verizon could change or remove promotions while supplies lasted, and the article did not establish one universal expiration time for every offer.

iPhone 15 Pro: the strongest offer for a new Verizon line
The iPhone 15 Pro was advertised at up to $1,000 off with an eligible trade-in and qualifying unlimited service. Verizon’s contemporaneous announcement distinguished between new customers or existing customers adding a new line and customers simply upgrading an existing line. The maximum new-line promotion was up to $1,000 off, while eligible existing-customer upgrades could receive up to $830 off.
The important qualification is “up to.” The maximum depended on the trade-in model, its condition, the selected plan and the customer’s status. Verizon’s September 2023 announcement explains the new-line and upgrade distinction in more detail in its iPhone 15 promotion announcement.
This was a good fit for a shopper who wanted an iPhone 15 Pro anyway and was willing to stay on the qualifying Verizon plan. It was less attractive for someone switching only to obtain a discount, because the higher wireless bill could outweigh the phone savings.
Galaxy S23 Ultra: up to $1,000 off with a Samsung trade-in
The Galaxy S23 Ultra promotion offered up to $1,000 off with a qualifying Samsung trade-in and an eligible unlimited plan. The discount was generally delivered through monthly bill credits rather than as cash at checkout.
Samsung owners should not assume that every Galaxy model earned the maximum credit. Trade-in eligibility was promotion-specific: the device brand, model, condition and plan all mattered. A less valuable trade-in could reduce the credit substantially.

Selected Android purchases were also associated with a Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Tab S9 FE bundle. Those devices could be free after promotional credits, but “free device” did not necessarily mean free cellular service. Confirm whether the checkout process adds a watch or tablet line and include that charge in the total monthly cost.
Pixel 8 Pro: potentially free, but only with the right trade-in
The Pixel 8 Pro was promoted at up to $1,000 off, which could make the phone free under the qualifying offer. The strongest version emphasized a Google Pixel trade-in and a new line, along with the required unlimited plan.

That headline should be read as a financing calculation. The phone still used a device-payment agreement, while Verizon applied the eligible discount as recurring credits. The result was a $0 effective device payment only while the customer continued meeting the promotion’s requirements.
Free iPad, Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Tab bundles
The headline bundles were attractive for customers who genuinely wanted multiple connected devices:
- A qualifying iPhone 15 purchase could include an iPad and Apple Watch through promotional credits.
- A qualifying Android purchase could include a Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Tab S9 FE.
Before accepting a bundle, ask three separate questions:

- Is the device itself free immediately, or only after monthly credits?
- Does each device require its own cellular line?
- Do those credits stop if the phone line, plan or account changes?
A tablet or watch that sits unused is not a saving if its required service line raises the bill. Compare the bundle’s total cost with buying only the phone and purchasing a Wi-Fi tablet or Bluetooth watch separately.
How Verizon trade-in credits worked
Verizon’s promotion structure typically worked like this:
- You selected an eligible phone and financed it through device payments.
- You submitted a qualifying trade-in in the required condition.
- Verizon applied promotional credits to future monthly bills.
- The credits continued only while you satisfied the offer’s conditions.
Verizon holiday promotion terms illustrate a 36-month credit period and state that credits can end when eligibility requirements are no longer met. In some upgrade situations, the device being traded in needed to have been active on the account for at least 60 days. Those conditions were promotion-specific, so the exact 2023 order terms controlled.
This creates a real financial risk. For example, if a phone is financed over 36 months and you leave after 12 months, you may lose the remaining 24 months of promotional credits while still owing the unpaid device balance. The precise result depends on the device-payment agreement and promotion terms.
Trade-in checklist
- Check the exact model, storage capacity and condition Verizon accepts.
- Back up your data.
- Turn off activation locks, including Find My iPhone where applicable.
- Factory-reset the phone and remove personal accounts.
- Photograph the phone’s condition and record its IMEI or serial number.
- Keep the shipping receipt and tracking information.
- Mail the device within the required deadline; Verizon’s current instructions specify 30 days, although historical offer terms may differ.
Verizon’s trade-in instructions cover the identification, backup, erasure and mailing process. Photographing the device and retaining shipment proof can help if its condition or delivery is later disputed.

Four iPhone 14 Plus phones for $120 per month
The family offer covered four iPhone 14 Plus devices and four lines for $120 per month on the basic Unlimited Welcome plan. Viewed only as a device bundle, that is approximately $40 per handset, but the offer makes sense only for a household that needs four lines.
It is not a $120-per-month deal for one customer buying one iPhone. A single-line shopper should compare the normal cost of one line and one device instead. Families should also check taxes, surcharges, activation costs and any plan restrictions before treating the advertised monthly figure as the final bill.

Visible Plus was reported at a historical promotional price of $35 per month, reduced from $45, with code 35FLASH. The promotion was presented as continuing while the customer maintained service, but it was a November 2023 offer and should not be treated as current.
Visible is a separate prepaid brand that uses Verizon’s network, not the same postpaid service as Verizon Wireless. It could suit someone seeking lower monthly service costs without Verizon’s traditional postpaid account structure, device bundles and associated requirements. It was a poorer fit for shoppers who wanted extensive postpaid benefits, retail support or multi-device Verizon bundles.

Verizon Fios switcher incentives
The Fios offers reported in 2023 included an Xbox Series S, Amazon Echo Show 10 or $200 Amazon gift card. The available reward could depend on the selected plan and eligibility.
These incentives should be valued only after checking:
- Whether Fios is available at your address
- The qualifying monthly internet price
- Equipment, installation and activation charges
- New-customer requirements
- Reward selection and redemption deadlines
- How long the promotional internet rate lasts
A gift card or device is not an immediate discount on your internet bill. Compare the full cost of Fios over the expected service period with competing providers, including all fees and the post-promotion price. Verizon’s home internet information is available at verizon.com/home/internet.

Who should have skipped these deals?
The promotions were a poor fit for anyone who:
- Did not need Verizon service or a new line
- Could not remain on the qualifying plan for the full credit term
- Needed immediate cash savings rather than bill credits
- Had a trade-in with uncertain condition or an activation lock
- Wanted only one line but was comparing the four-phone family offer
- Would pay for tablet or watch lines that they would not use
- Could save more by keeping their current phone or buying an unlocked device
How to calculate the real value
Use this calculation before accepting a carrier promotion:
Total cost = wireless plan charges + device payments + taxes and fees + required tablet or watch lines − promotional credits − trade-in value.
Then compare that result over the same period with keeping your current phone, buying an unlocked phone, using a cheaper prepaid plan or switching carriers. The advertised “up to $1,000 off” is only one input. The qualifying plan and the length of the commitment may matter more.
Historical verdict
For the November 28, 2023 snapshot, the iPhone 15 Pro and Galaxy S23 Ultra were the strongest premium-phone offers for eligible new lines with valuable trade-ins. The Pixel 8 Pro was compelling for Pixel owners who qualified for the maximum credit. The four-iPhone offer was potentially useful for families, while Visible Plus was the most relevant lower-cost Verizon-network alternative.
None of these should be presented as live 2026 promotions. Verizon’s current Cyber Monday page now features newer-generation products and terms. Always verify the live offer, plan requirement, credit duration and final monthly bill before placing an order.
