Amazon Business is the best all-purpose Udaan alternative for mixed-category procurement in India. Choose Jumbotail for grocery and kirana replenishment, METRO for a resale-focused wholesale model, and Moglix for industrial, tools and maintenance supplies. The right choice depends on your category, lot size, GST and invoicing needs, delivery pincode, credit eligibility and how you handle seller disputes—not on a universal “cheapest” ranking.

Quick comparison: which Udaan alternative fits your business?

The platforms below solve different procurement problems. Use the table as a starting point, then verify availability and commercial terms for your exact city, pincode, business type and order size.

Platform Strongest use case Relevant capabilities Important checks
Amazon Business India Mixed-category business purchasing Business pricing, bulk discounts, GST invoices, procurement analytics and fulfilment support across office, IT, cleaning, industrial, MRO, pantry and hospitality categories Account eligibility, seller quality, minimum quantities, pincode coverage and current pricing
Jumbotail Food, grocery and kirana supply Marketplace connecting retailers with brands and staples producers; sourcing, quality control, logistics, payments and lending-partner working-capital options City-level availability, assortment, credit eligibility and delivery economics
METRO Wholesale goods bought for resale B2B wholesale shopping channel designed for customers purchasing products for further sale Customer requirements, membership or access rules, store/app availability, delivery radius and local operating arrangements
Moglix Industrial and MRO procurement Catalog covering more than 70 categories, logistics support, payment terms and visibility to procurement buyers Actual buyer pricing, stock, lead times, returns and account terms for each supplier

No standardized, independent comparison of current prices, delivery speeds or market share across these services was established in the available 2026 company materials. Treat any “cheapest” or “fastest” claim as location- and date-specific unless you have run the same basket through each platform.

What buyers should compare with Udaan

Udaan’s buyer proposition is a useful benchmark. Its buyer page says businesses can source thousands of products from major wholesale and manufacturing centres, order smaller lots, access bulk pricing, inspect seller credentials, view tax, logistics and product pricing, receive doorstep delivery and obtain full or partial refunds for eligible problems. It also describes escrow protection and sample ordering.

Those promises translate into seven practical comparison questions:

  • Category depth: Does the marketplace carry the exact brands, pack sizes, grades and specifications you sell or consume?
  • Lot economics: Can you buy a trial quantity, or are you forced into cartons, pallets or case packs that increase dead stock?
  • Trust and disputes: Are seller credentials visible, and what protection applies when goods are damaged, short-delivered, counterfeit or materially different?
  • Delivered cost: Do item price, GST, freight, handling, minimum-order charges and return costs appear before checkout?
  • Invoice quality: Will you receive a GST-compliant invoice in the legal entity and state-registration details your accountant needs?
  • Working capital: Is there a credit or payment-term option, who underwrites it, and what is the total cost?
  • Operational reach: Does the service reliably deliver to your exact pincode within the window your shelves, production line or project requires?

1. Amazon Business India: the broadest general-purpose option

Amazon Business positions itself as a B2B wholesale marketplace for organizations that need business pricing, bulk discounts, GST invoices, procurement analytics and fulfilment support. Its 2026 homepage publishes three scale figures: more than 15 crore products with GST Invoice, more than 3.5 lakh sellers across India and coverage of 99.8% of Indian pincodes. These are figures stated by Amazon Business on its own page; confirm the current values when opening an account because marketplace counts and coverage can change.

When it is the best fit

Choose this option when one purchasing account must cover unrelated categories: laptops and peripherals for an office, cleaning supplies for a facility, pantry consumables, packaging, maintenance items and hospitality supplies. A broad catalog can reduce the number of vendor accounts your finance team has to reconcile. Business pricing and quantity discounts are useful when you repeatedly buy the same SKU, while GST invoices and procurement analytics support expense allocation and audit trails.

What to verify before placing a large order

  • Confirm that your business account is eligible and that the legal name, GSTIN and billing address are correct.
  • Open the offer-level details, not just the product page. Different sellers can have different condition, warranty, dispatch location, delivery date and return rules.
  • Check whether the displayed quantity is one unit, a case or a multipack. A low per-unit price can be misleading when the minimum order is large.
  • Test delivery to the actual receiving pincode. The published 99.8% coverage figure is a platform-level statement, not a promise of identical service levels for every SKU.
  • Download a sample invoice and have your accountant verify that tax components and business details meet your input-tax-credit process.

Trade-offs

The breadth that makes Amazon Business convenient also means supplier quality, lead time and returns can vary by listing. Use approved-seller lists, repeat the same seller after a successful pilot and keep photographs and delivery records for any dispute. A high catalog count does not guarantee that a particular industrial specification or food pack is continuously in stock.

2. Jumbotail: a grocery and kirana specialist

Jumbotail describes itself as “India’s leading B2B Marketplace and New Retail Platform for food and grocery.” It says its marketplace connects thousands of small grocery retailers and supermarkets with brands and staples producers. The company also describes sourcing and quality-control services, full-stack supply-chain and logistics operations, payment solutions and working-capital credit provided through lending partners.

When it is the best fit

Jumbotail is designed around the replenishment rhythm of kirana stores, supermarkets and grocery brands. It is the most natural shortlist candidate for staples, packaged foods, personal-care products and home-care products when you need regular assortment updates rather than a one-off purchase. A category-focused operator may also be better suited to handling expiry dates, batch information and food-quality checks than a general marketplace, although you should still inspect every consignment.

Checks for a grocery buyer

  • Ask whether your city and delivery pin are inside the active service area and what delivery days apply to your route.
  • Compare the available case sizes with your weekly sell-through. A lower case price is not a saving if slow-moving stock expires.
  • Record batch number, manufacturing date, expiry or best-before date and delivered quantity at receiving.
  • Clarify the process for short supply, damaged cartons, temperature-sensitive goods and near-expiry stock before ordering.
  • If you are offered credit through a lending partner, compare the total repayment amount, fees, security requirements and effect on your cash-conversion cycle.

Trade-offs

Assortment, credit eligibility and delivery economics can differ materially by city. A platform that works well for a retailer in one market may not offer the same brands, minimum order or route frequency in another. Treat any working-capital offer as a finance product: read the lender’s agreement and do not judge affordability by the headline limit alone.

3. METRO: a resale-oriented wholesale model

METRO’s terms describe its B2B Wholesale Shopping platform as a channel through which users can purchase products “for further sale.” Its corporate positioning is centered on B2B wholesale customers. That distinction matters: the operating model is aimed at retailers and resellers buying inventory, rather than only organizations purchasing supplies for internal consumption.

When it is the best fit

Consider METRO when your business buys packaged goods, household products, food-service items or other wholesale merchandise specifically to resell. The model can suit operators who prefer a structured wholesale relationship and are comfortable meeting customer requirements set by the operator.

Eligibility and access questions

  • Which business documents are accepted for registration, and does your business activity qualify?
  • Is access provided through a physical store, an app, delivery, or a combination that varies by location?
  • What membership, account or delivery rules apply to your city?
  • What is the minimum order and delivery radius for the products you need?
  • How are substitutions, price changes, damaged goods and returns handled?

Trade-offs

Store or app access, assortment and delivery terms may differ by location. Current ownership or operating arrangements can also vary across markets, so confirm the local terms rather than relying on a national assumption. For a small retailer, travel time and receiving effort should be included in the landed cost if buying from a store is part of the model.

4. Moglix: industrial, tools and MRO procurement

Moglix’s supplier portal calls it a leading B2B marketplace and advertises a catalog spanning more than 70 product categories, along with logistics support, payment terms and visibility to customers and procurement managers. Typical use cases include industrial consumables, tools, safety equipment, maintenance supplies, construction inputs and other MRO requirements.

When it is the best fit

Moglix is the strongest specialist option when a purchase must match a technical specification rather than a consumer-facing brand name. Factories, contractors, workshops, warehouses and facility teams can use a focused industrial catalog to source repeat consumables and compare alternatives by specification.

How to validate an industrial listing

  1. Write the specification before searching: dimensions, material, grade, tolerance, voltage, certification, pack size and compatible model.
  2. Request or download the technical datasheet and compare it with your approved specification.
  3. Confirm stock status, dispatch location and realistic lead time in writing; “available” does not necessarily mean every quantity is ready to ship.
  4. Check whether freight, hazardous-material handling or project delivery charges are separate.
  5. Agree on inspection, warranty and return conditions before issuing a purchase order.

Trade-offs

The supplier portal’s category and capability statements do not establish a universal buyer price, service level or lead time. Each supplier and SKU must be assessed separately. For critical maintenance parts, keep an approved alternate and a safety-stock policy instead of depending on a single marketplace listing.

How to choose among the four platforms

Start with category fit

Map your last three months of purchases into grocery, resale merchandise, office and facility supplies, or industrial and MRO. Put each line item on the platform where the required specification and pack size are most likely to exist. Grocery and staples generally point to Jumbotail; industrial and MRO to Moglix; mixed indirect spend to Amazon Business; and resale-oriented wholesale to METRO.

Calculate landed cost, not the headline price

For every candidate basket, calculate:

Landed cost = item price + GST not recoverable as credit + freight and handling + payment or credit cost + expected shrinkage, expiry and return cost

Keep recoverable input tax separate in your accounting model, but include cash timing: you may have to pay GST and the supplier before collecting from your customer. Compare the same tax-inclusive unit, pack size and delivered quantity across platforms.

Match the lot size to your cash cycle

Wholesale discounts often require larger cases. Compare the discount with your sales velocity, storage capacity and expiry risk. A small-lot option can produce a higher unit price but a lower total cost when it prevents dead stock. Ask whether samples or trial quantities are available for unfamiliar suppliers or private-label products.

Audit trust and dispute protection

  • Verify the seller’s legal name, GST registration details and stated return address.
  • Save the product page, quotation, purchase order, invoice and delivery proof.
  • Photograph outer cartons and inner packs before signing for delivery when the order is valuable.
  • Report shortages or damage within the platform’s stated window and keep the case number.
  • Understand whether escrow, refund or replacement protection covers only product price or also freight and taxes.

Test operational reliability

Run a controlled pilot before moving all spend. Use five to ten recurring SKUs, place the order to the real receiving location and measure promised versus actual delivery date, fill rate, invoice accuracy, damage, substitutions and time spent resolving exceptions. Repeat once if demand is seasonal; one successful shipment is not proof of a stable service level.

GST, invoicing and internal controls

For a registered business, the invoice is part of the product. Ensure the seller invoices the correct legal entity and GSTIN, shows the place of supply and tax breakup, and describes the item and quantity clearly enough for your records. Reconcile the marketplace invoice with the goods received before claiming input tax credit. If your business has several buyers, use role-based access, approval limits and a monthly spend report. Keep purchase orders and goods-received notes together so an auditor can trace a transaction from requisition to payment.

Credit and payment terms: useful, but not free

Some platforms or their lending partners may offer working capital or payment terms. Compare the annualized cost, processing fee, late fee, foreclosure rule, collateral or personal guarantee, repayment frequency and whether the facility is tied to specific purchases. Model a slow-sales month: if inventory turns from 30 to 60 days, the financing cost can erase a bulk discount. Never treat an approved limit as a target to use.

A practical 30-day switching plan

  1. Days 1–3 — Build the baseline: Export recent purchases, supplier prices, pack sizes, GST treatment, average monthly quantity and stock-out incidents.
  2. Days 4–7 — Shortlist by category: Assign each SKU to one primary platform and one fallback. Confirm account eligibility and service to your receiving pincode.
  3. Days 8–14 — Run a like-for-like quote: Request the same quantities and specifications. Record item price, GST, freight, minimum order, delivery promise and return terms.
  4. Days 15–21 — Pilot: Order representative SKUs, including one fragile or technically specific item. Inspect, reconcile invoices and log every exception.
  5. Days 22–26 — Review economics: Calculate landed cost, working-capital days, staff time, fill rate, damage and return resolution.
  6. Days 27–30 — Set policy: Approve vendors and spending limits, define reorder points, document receiving checks and keep a fallback supplier for critical items.

Common failure modes and fixes

The “bulk discount” creates excess stock

Reduce the order to a case size that matches sell-through, or split the buy between a lower-minimum supplier and a bulk source. Track expiry and ageing stock separately from gross margin.

The delivered price is higher than the listing

Rebuild the quote with GST, freight, handling, minimum-order charges and any credit fee. Compare identical units and pack counts, not search-result prices.

The invoice cannot be reconciled

Pause repeat orders until the legal entity, GSTIN, tax breakup and item descriptions are corrected. Ask the platform or seller for a revised invoice and retain the correspondence.

A technical item is substituted

Require written approval for substitutions. For safety-critical or machine-compatible parts, reject an unapproved substitute and use the return or dispute process.

Delivery is unreliable at your location

Test another seller or platform serving the same pincode, set a reorder lead-time buffer and maintain safety stock for items that can stop sales or production.

Bottom line

Use Amazon Business when breadth, GST documentation and consolidated procurement matter most. Use Jumbotail for grocery-led replenishment, METRO when you buy wholesale inventory for resale, and Moglix for industrial and MRO specifications. Make the final decision with a pincode-specific pilot and a landed-cost worksheet. Category fit, lot size, invoice quality, dispute protection and reliable delivery will matter more than any platform-wide product count or promotional claim.
