T-Mobile’s best phone promotions are rarely simple “free phone” offers. Most use an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) and 24 monthly bill credits, while you pay taxes on the phone’s full price and often a $35 Device Connection Charge up front.
The offers below were checked on T-Mobile pages available August 9, 2026. Eligibility can change based on your plan, number of lines, account tenure, trade-in, credit approval and whether you are adding a line or switching carriers.

Best pick for new customers
If you are opening service, compare the complete cost of the required plan—not just the advertised phone price. The iPhone 17 offer is potentially the strongest because T-Mobile lists a no-trade-in path. However, its Better Value eligibility requires three or more new lines and two eligible port-ins for new members.
For Android buyers, the Pixel 10 Pro XL deal avoids a trade-in when you add a new line on Experience Beyond. The Galaxy S26 offer is another no-trade-in option, but it is tied to adding a line on Experience More. If you are moving from another carrier and want a foldable, the 2026 Motorola razr promotion advertises up to $1,100 off for switchers on Experience Beyond without a trade-in under the listed switcher offer.

There is also a separate bring-your-own-phone incentive worth up to $400. It can be more financially sensible than upgrading immediately if your current phone is paid off and still works. You keep the device, switch your service and wait for the rebate card rather than taking on a new EIP.
Best paths for existing T-Mobile customers
T-Mobile’s “New and Existing” promise means customers on Experience More, Experience Beyond, Go5G Plus or Go5G Next can receive the same device offers available to new customers activating on the corresponding qualifying plans. That does not mean every account qualifies for every promotion.
- Best high-end Samsung route: the Galaxy S26 Ultra can receive up to $1,100 off with an eligible trade-in and qualifying plan.
- Best iPhone route: the iPhone 17 may be available without a trade-in, but the listed Better Value path for existing customers requires at least three existing lines and five years of T-Mobile postpaid tenure.
- Best damaged-phone route: Experience Beyond customers may use a phone in any condition for the Pixel 10 Pro promotion. Do not assume that “any condition” applies to other T-Mobile offers.
- Best upgrade-timing route: Experience More and qualifying legacy Go5G Plus customers have T-Mobile’s “New in Two” 24-month financing option. Experience Beyond and Go5G Next customers have a yearly-upgrade benefit.

A phone advertised as free generally still creates a charge today and a commitment over time.

- You finance the device. T-Mobile places the phone on an Equipment Installment Plan.
- You pay taxes on the full, pre-credit price. The promotional credits do not normally eliminate those upfront taxes.
- You may pay a $35 Device Connection Charge. Check the checkout screen because a specific offer may waive it.
- T-Mobile applies monthly credits. Many current promotions use 24 credits, and credits may take up to two billing cycles to appear.
- You keep the qualifying service active. The promotional line must remain active and in good standing.
For example, a $1,000 phone receiving $1,000 in credits over 24 months has a nominal device payment of about $41.67 per month before credits. That does not make the required service plan free, and it does not remove taxes or other charges due at purchase.

Read the early-payoff language before accepting the deal. On promotions whose terms end credits after early payoff, paying off the EIP can stop future credits. Canceling service can also leave the remaining device balance due. If you need to cancel the account, contact T-Mobile first and ask whether your credits can continue under the promotion’s terms.
Trade-in checks that protect your discount
Trade-in offers can be valuable, but the promised amount depends on the device T-Mobile receives—not only the answers entered during checkout.

- Submit or deliver the trade-in by the deadline in the promotion.
- Describe the exact model and condition accurately. T-Mobile can re-evaluate a device if it does not match the submission.
- Photograph the phone, its condition and the shipping package before sending it.
- Use adequate packaging so the device is not damaged in transit.
- Track the shipment and save the tracking number until the trade-in is accepted and credits appear.
- Expect a delay. Trade-in credits may take up to three billing cycles.
If T-Mobile revalues the phone, its terms say you may request it back, except when the device is reported lost or stolen. An online or phone trade-in can also generally be brought to a store during the expiration period, although the store may inspect and revalue it.
Questions to answer before checkout
Use T-Mobile’s device page and offer terms—not an old deal article—to verify the following:
- Is your exact plan eligible, or would changing plans increase your monthly bill?
- Does the deal require a new line, multiple lines or port-ins?
- Does existing-customer eligibility depend on five years of postpaid tenure?
- Is a trade-in required, and does your phone meet the stated condition rules?
- How much will taxes and the Device Connection Charge cost today?
- How many devices per account can receive the promotion?
- What happens to the credits if you upgrade early, pay off the phone or cancel service?
T-Mobile’s current Samsung promotion, for example, limits the offer to four discounted devices per account and says lines canceled within the previous 90 days may need to be reactivated. Those details can matter more than the headline discount for families or customers recently changing lines.

- Calculate the cash due today. Include taxes, the connection charge, any down payment and your first bill.
- Value flexibility. A bill-credit promotion is a poor fit if you may leave T-Mobile or pay off the phone early.
- Save the terms. Screenshot the offer, eligibility result and trade-in description before submitting the order.
