Bossa provides a dedicated Budimex (BDX) instrument page and an account-opening route, while BDM explicitly supports Warsaw Stock Exchange investing and publishes example stock commissions. Investors outside Poland can investigate Interactive Brokers, whose current schedule includes Warsaw Stock Exchange fees. There is no universal “best” broker: your residence, PLN funding, currency-conversion cost, custody terms, tax documents, investor protection and order execution determine which account is practical.
What you are buying: Budimex on the WSE
Budimex is an ordinary equity listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW). Its ticker is BDX, and BOŚ Bossa identifies the security with ISIN PLBUDMX00013. When you search a broker, match both the ticker and ISIN so you do not accidentally select a contract for difference (CFD), depositary receipt or another synthetic product.

Budimex’s market value and liquidity change continuously. The company’s official market-data page reported a closing price of PLN 701.40 on 16 September 2026. That is a dated reference point, not a current quote or a price target. Use the live order book in your chosen platform before deciding how many shares to buy.

Broker shortlist and what is actually confirmed
The evidence supports a shortlist, not a ranking that applies to every investor. The services below have different evidence and cost disclosures, so compare like with like.
#1 Best Overall
- Comes with secure packaging
- Easy to read text
- It can be a gift option
| Broker | Confirmed WSE/BDX evidence | Published cost information relevant to this decision | What you must verify before opening or trading |
|---|---|---|---|
| BOŚ Bossa | Dedicated BUDIMEX BDX instrument page; the page includes login and account-opening links and lists ISIN PLBUDMX00013 | BDX access is visible on the instrument page; a complete fee total for your account is not stated in the cited material | Current commission and minimum, custody charges, PLN deposits, FX spread, order types, tax documents, investor-protection entity and country eligibility |
| Dom Maklerski BDM | Individual offer explicitly says its accounts can invest on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and major foreign markets | Example stock commission: 0.28% for the basic account; 0.24% for BDM ŻAK and Daytrader accounts | Whether you qualify for each account, minimum commission, exchange charges, custody, PLN funding and FX, tax reporting and execution details |
| Interactive Brokers | Publishes a current Warsaw Stock Exchange fee schedule; international investors can investigate eligibility | WSE stock exchange fee of 0.07% of trade value; PLN-denominated stock pass-through fee of 0.03% per position value per annum, calculated daily | Country and entity eligibility, any separate brokerage commission or minimum, FX conversion cost, custody treatment, tax forms and investor-protection regime |
BDM describes its scope in its individual-offer wording: “Nasza oferta pozwala inwestować na Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie i na głównych rynkach zagranicznych takich jak NYSE, NASDAQ, LSE czy Xetra, a także lokować środki w jednostki funduszy inwestycyjnych.” This confirms market access in the offer description; it does not by itself establish the cheapest all-in cost for a Budimex order.
How the quoted fees differ
A brokerage commission, an exchange fee and a pass-through charge are separate components. Comparing BDM’s percentage directly with Interactive Brokers’ 0.07% WSE fee would give the wrong impression because they refer to different cost layers.
| Charge | Rate in the cited material | What the rate applies to | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| BDM basic-account stock commission | 0.28% | Shares transaction commission | Example rate on BDM’s current offer page, accessed in 2026; minimums and other charges must be checked |
| BDM ŻAK and Daytrader stock commission | 0.24% | Shares transaction commission | Example rate for those account offers; confirm eligibility and current terms |
| Interactive Brokers WSE stock exchange fee | 0.07% of trade value | Exchange fee listed in the WSE schedule | It is an exchange charge, not necessarily the broker’s entire commission |
| Interactive Brokers PLN stock pass-through fee | 0.03% of position value per annum | PLN-denominated stock positions | Calculated daily; an annualised rate does not mean it is charged only once a year |
Illustrative arithmetic, not a quote
On a PLN 10,000 purchase, 0.28% equals PLN 28 and 0.24% equals PLN 24 before any minimum commission, exchange levy, custody charge or tax. A 0.07% exchange fee on the same trade equals PLN 7. If a PLN 10,000 position were held for a full year and its value stayed constant, a 0.03% annual pass-through rate would equal PLN 3; because the charge is calculated daily and the position value changes, the actual amount can differ. These calculations explain the units and do not replace a live order preview.
Which broker fits which investor?
Polish resident who wants a local-market account
BOŚ Bossa and DM BDM are the first practical comparisons because the cited pages explicitly expose Polish-market access. Bossa’s dedicated BDX page can make instrument identification straightforward. BDM’s published percentages make one part of the price easier to estimate. Compare the complete tariff, not just the headline commission: a low percentage can be outweighed by a minimum charge, custody fee or expensive currency conversion.
International investor
Interactive Brokers is the clearest starting point in the evidence for someone investigating access from outside Poland because it publishes a WSE schedule. Eligibility is not universal, however. Your country of residence, the legal entity that would hold the account, local marketing restrictions and the account type can all change what is available. Confirm that the platform offers the ordinary PLN-denominated BDX share rather than a derivative.
Rank #2
- Ideal for Gifting
- Ideal for a bookworm
- Comes with Proper Binding
Student or active day trader considering BDM
BDM lists 0.24% for its ŻAK and Daytrader offers versus 0.28% for its basic account. The lower percentage matters only if you meet the offer’s conditions and if minimums, platform charges and other costs do not offset it. Ask BDM for the current eligibility rules and a worked example for your expected order size.
Long-term holder
For a buy-and-hold investor, recurring costs can matter more than a one-time commission. Check custody or account-maintenance fees, the treatment of corporate actions, dividend handling, currency conversion and the annual tax statement. Interactive Brokers’ PLN pass-through fee is explicitly calculated daily, so include the holding-period cost in your comparison rather than looking only at the purchase ticket.
Small-order investor
Minimum commissions are especially important when the order value is small. The cited material does not state the current minimums for the three brokers, so obtain them from each live tariff or order preview. A percentage that looks attractive can produce a high effective rate when a minimum applies.
Step-by-step: buying BDX safely
- Confirm eligibility. Check that the broker accepts your country of residence, tax status and account type for Polish equities. If you are using a local student or day-trader offer, confirm that you qualify before relying on its rate.
- Identify the exact security. Search for Budimex,
BDXor ISINPLBUDMX00013. Verify that the venue is the Warsaw Stock Exchange and that the product is an ordinary share. Reject a CFD, synthetic exposure or leveraged product if your intention is to own the listed equity. - Read the order preview. Record the live share price, PLN trade value, commission, minimum commission, WSE or other exchange levy, pass-through charge, taxes and any estimated FX cost. Save a screenshot or PDF if the platform allows it.
- Plan funding currency. Determine whether you can deposit PLN directly. If you fund in another currency, compare the broker’s conversion rate and spread with the cost of converting before the deposit. Include both the initial conversion and any future conversion for dividends or sale proceeds.
- Choose an order type deliberately. A limit order lets you specify the highest price you will pay and can help control slippage in a less-liquid moment. Enter the share quantity, limit price, validity and settlement details carefully. Do not assume a market order will fill at the last displayed price.
- Trade during the venue’s active session. Use the broker’s current Warsaw Stock Exchange trading-hours display, which can reflect holidays and session changes. Check the order status and partial-fill possibility rather than assuming immediate completion.
- Verify execution. Confirm the filled quantity, average price, all charges and settlement date in the contract note. A partially filled order can leave you with a different exposure and fee outcome from the one you planned.
- Store records. Keep the contract note, funding confirmation, FX record, dividend notices and year-end tax documents. These records help reconcile your cost basis and support any tax filing required in your country.
Fee and account checklist before pressing Buy
- Commission: Is it a percentage, a fixed amount or whichever is higher? What is the minimum per order?
- Exchange and regulatory charges: Are WSE fees included in the displayed commission or added separately?
- Currency: Is the quote and settlement currency PLN? What rate and spread apply if your cash is in EUR, GBP, USD or another currency?
- Custody: Is there a monthly, quarterly or annual charge for holding Polish shares? Are there fees for statements, transfers or corporate actions?
- Dividends: Does the broker receive and pass through dividends in PLN, convert them, or charge a handling fee?
- Tax documents: Which annual statements are supplied, in what language and for which tax residence? Do they show purchase cost, sale proceeds, dividends and withholding?
- Execution: Which venue handles the order, what order types are supported and how are partial fills, cancellations and outages handled?
- Protection: Which regulated legal entity holds your account, what investor-compensation scheme applies and what exclusions or limits govern it?
- Eligibility: Can a non-Polish resident, company, minor or pension account use the service for WSE equities?
PLN funding, FX and custody can outweigh the headline rate
BDX trades in PLN. A broker that accepts PLN deposits can remove one conversion step, but it is not automatically cheaper: compare the deposit route, bank charges, conversion spread and withdrawal cost. If you use a foreign-currency balance, ask whether the platform converts automatically at execution or requires a separate FX order.
Custody terms also affect the cost of a long holding. The available evidence does not publish a complete custody tariff for Bossa, BDM or Interactive Brokers in a way that can be applied to every account. Treat that as a live-check item. Ask specifically about dormant-account charges, transfer-out fees, nominee custody, corporate actions and what happens to a position if the account is closed.
Taxes, dividends and records
Polish-share taxation depends on your residence, legal status and the transaction or income involved. Dividend withholding, capital-gains reporting, treaty relief and the documents needed by your tax authority can differ for a Polish resident and an overseas investor. Do not assume that the broker’s statement is a complete tax return or that Polish withholding settles your home-country liability.

Before trading, ask the broker how it reports dividends, withholding and sales proceeds for your jurisdiction. After trading, reconcile the contract note with the cash ledger and preserve the PLN amount, FX rate and date for every transaction. If your situation involves two tax countries, a company account or a pension wrapper, obtain advice tailored to that status.
Budimex facts worth checking separately from broker selection
A good execution platform does not make the underlying company suitable for every portfolio. Budimex’s 2024 prospectus page reported a PLN 3.9 billion order book, PLN 2.0 billion of revenue, PLN 163 million of EBIT and 1,650 employees. These are historical 2024 figures. They can help you understand scale, but they do not forecast earnings, dividends or the share price.
| 2024 reference | Figure | Interpretation limit |
|---|---|---|
| Order book | PLN 3.9 billion | Reported backlog at the cited period; timing, margins and conversion to revenue can change |
| Revenue | PLN 2.0 billion | Historical annual figure, not a current run rate |
| EBIT | PLN 163 million | Historical operating result; future profitability is uncertain |
| Employees | 1,650 | Reported workforce figure for 2024 |
The Bossa page’s ownership information—25,530,098 shares outstanding and a 50.14% holding by Ferrovial Agroman International SE—also deserves context. A large disclosed holder can affect voting control and the effective free float, but the cited figure alone does not tell you current liquidity, takeover intentions or valuation.

Confusing a broker’s commission with the total cost
Symptom: You compare 0.28% at BDM with 0.07% at Interactive Brokers and conclude that one is automatically cheaper.

Fix: Separate brokerage commission, WSE exchange fee, pass-through charge, minimums, custody and FX. Recalculate using the exact order preview for your account and order size.
Buying the wrong product
Symptom: Search results show a leveraged or cash-settled BDX product instead of a share.
Fix: Match the venue, currency, instrument description and ISIN PLBUDMX00013. Read the product disclosure before submitting the order.
Ignoring PLN conversion cost
Symptom: The displayed commission is low, but your account is funded in another currency.
Fix: Compare the broker’s FX spread and any separate conversion commission with an external conversion route that your account and local rules permit. Include the cost of converting dividends and sale proceeds.

Assuming access from any country
Symptom: You can see a WSE fee schedule but cannot open or fund the account.
Fix: Confirm residence, legal entity, product eligibility and required identity or tax documents before transferring money.
Using a market order without checking liquidity
Symptom: The fill price differs materially from the quote you saw.
Fix: Inspect the live order book and consider a limit order with a clear maximum price. Review partial-fill and cancellation rules.
Relying on an old tariff
Symptom: The final ticket contains charges absent from an older comparison.
Fix: Re-open the broker’s current legal, pricing and order-preview pages immediately before trading. The figures cited here were accessed in 2026 and can change.
Risk disclosure
Owning BDX exposes you to company, sector, market, currency and liquidity risk. A PLN share can lose value, and a foreign investor can experience an additional gain or loss from the PLN exchange rate. Interactive Brokers’ WSE page states: “The risk of loss in online trading of stocks, options, futures, currencies, foreign equities, and fixed income can be substantial.” Use only risk capital, understand the product and consider diversification rather than treating broker choice as a guarantee of returns.

Shortlist BOŚ Bossa and DM BDM if you are a Polish investor seeking straightforward WSE access; use Bossa’s BDX page to confirm the instrument and BDM’s tariff to model its stock commission. If you live abroad, investigate Interactive Brokers’ WSE access but verify country eligibility and the full PLN cost. The right decision comes from an all-in comparison—commission, exchange and pass-through fees, FX, custody, tax support, protection and execution—not from a single percentage.
