Tom’s Guide initially showed the SE 2 around $187–$189 before recording $149 on December 2. Macworld and MacRumors also reported the $149 SE, $329/$359 Series 10 deals and $719 Ultra 2 price. Why each deal stood out
Apple Watch SE 2 at $149: best budget value
The 40mm GPS Apple Watch SE (second generation) was the clearest low-cost choice at $149, down from a reported $249. It suited first-time buyers, children or family members who already use an iPhone, and anyone who wanted notifications, workouts and basic activity tracking without paying for advanced sensors.

This was 2022 hardware, not a 2024 model. The SE 2 did not include features such as an always-on display or ECG, and it lacked some newer health capabilities available on higher models. At the earlier $187–$199 range, the SE was less compelling. The $149 price was the threshold that made its compromises easy to accept.
Series 10 at $329 or $359: best overall deal
The September 2024 Apple Watch Series 10 was unusually discounted soon after launch: $329 for the 42mm GPS version, versus a reported $399 list price, and $359 for the 46mm GPS version, versus $429.
Series 10 was the better choice for shoppers who wanted the current mainstream model, a more modern display experience and additional health and fitness capabilities, including sleep-apnea-related functionality reported in the deal coverage. The 46mm case cost only $30 more than the 42mm model. Tom’s Guide described it as 4mm larger and 6g heavier; the core Series 10 feature set was broadly the same, so the decision mainly came down to wrist fit and display preference.

Ultra 2 at $719: best premium and outdoor deal
The 49mm Apple Watch Ultra 2 with GPS + Cellular was reported at $719, $80 below a stated $799 list price. Its case, titanium construction, longer battery life, dual-frequency GPS and outdoor- and diving-oriented features made it the right deal for endurance athletes, hikers, divers and buyers who specifically wanted a rugged watch.
It was not the best value for ordinary smartwatch use. A discounted Series 10 delivered the mainstream Apple Watch experience for hundreds less, while the Ultra 2 was larger, heavier and potentially incurred cellular service costs.
SE 2 versus Series 10: is the $180 gap justified?

Choose the SE 2 if keeping the checkout price as low as possible matters most and you can live without advanced sensors and an always-on display. Pay for Series 10 if you expect to keep the watch for years, care about its newer features or want a more current design. The price difference was $180 at the reported Cyber Monday prices.

Was an older Series 9 worth buying?
Usually not at the prices reported. Tom’s Guide recorded a 41mm Series 9 around $349 in one update and noted that it had previously fallen to about $279. Paying $349 for the older model made little sense beside a Series 10 at $329. A Series 9 became reasonable only when it was materially below Series 10 pricing—roughly near the reported $279 low—and when the buyer accepted older hardware.

GPS or GPS + Cellular?
GPS watches generally cost less and are the better value for people who normally carry an iPhone. Cellular models can appear heavily discounted because their original prices are higher, but they may require an eligible carrier plan, activation and recurring monthly charges.

- Check the exact connectivity label: GPS or GPS + Cellular.
- Confirm carrier compatibility, family-plan eligibility, activation fees and cancellation terms.
- Do not pay the cellular premium unless you genuinely want calls, messages, streaming or emergency connectivity away from your iPhone.
The $719 Ultra 2 deal was specifically a GPS + Cellular configuration; it should not be compared with a GPS Series 10 without noting that difference.

Macworld reported that Apple’s 2024 holiday promotion included a $50 U.S. Apple Gift Card with an eligible Apple Watch SE purchase rather than reducing the watch’s sticker price. That is not the same as $50 off at checkout. A retailer’s $100 price reduction on the SE was generally better for someone seeking the lowest immediate cost. The gift card could be preferable to an Apple customer who knew they would spend it later.

Buying checklist for a historical deal page
- Verify the configuration: case size, GPS versus cellular, color and band.
- Confirm condition: new, refurbished, used or marketplace; identify the actual seller.
- Check the total cost: include cellular activation and monthly service where applicable.
- Confirm accessories: verify that the expected band and compatible charging cable are included.
- Check compatibility: Apple Watch is intended for iPhone use. Verify the exact iPhone and operating-system requirements at Apple’s current comparison page, since 2024 guidance should not be used as a 2026 compatibility guarantee.
- Recheck checkout: Cyber Monday stock could sell out or switch from retailer inventory to a marketplace seller.
Accessories and hidden costs
Deal coverage also mentioned discounted charging stands and bands, including an Apple Sport Loop reported at $39 rather than $49. Official bands cost more than many third-party alternatives but reduce uncertainty about fit, clasp quality and materials. Review return policies and skin-sensitivity concerns before choosing a third-party band. Apple’s band catalog is at Apple Watch bands.
A replacement charger may be necessary for a gift recipient. Cellular buyers should budget separately for carrier service; no carrier-specific 2024 or 2026 price is established here.
