Best 3D printer deals by buyer

Best overall beginner and multicolor deal: Bambu Lab A1 Combo

The A1 Combo is the safest recommendation for most beginners who want a relatively automated FDM experience and the option to print in multiple colors. The observed $399 price included the printer and AMS lite multicolor hardware, compared with an advertised former price of $559.

#1 Best Overall
Bambu Lab P1S Combo, P1S 3D Printer and AMS, Multi-Color 3D Printing | MakerWorld Model Library, Multi-Color 3D Printing,High Speed & Precision CoreXY 3D Printer,Auto Bed Leveling, Ready-to-Use
  • Up to 16 Colors: Bring your designs to life with vibrant multi-color/multi-material printing capabilities, perfect for showcasing your creativity. Note: Connecting Bambu Lab AMS is required.
  • 500mm/s and 20000 mm/s² Acceleration True High Speed: Don't wait around for your masterpieces. Lightning-fast printing speed lets you focus on creating, not waiting.
  • Enclosed Design: Fully enclosed body improves print performance for advanced filaments. Automatic Bed Leveling: Say hello to high-quality, successful prints. Auto bed leveling makes 3D printing such an easy thing.
  • Set Up in 15 Minutes: Spend more time printing and less time setting up. User-friendly design ensures a hassle-free assembly experience for all skill levels.
  • Supported Filament: Ideal: PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA, PET ABS, ASA; Capable : PA, PC; Not Recommended: Carbon/Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer.

Its appeal is the combination of automatic calibration, a manageable 256 mm cubic build area, and a simpler path into multicolor printing than buying separate hardware later. For PLA and many PETG projects, it is a more complete beginner purchase than a bare-bones machine that saves money upfront but demands more manual setup.

Skip it if: you need ABS, ASA, nylon, polycarbonate, or other temperature-sensitive materials. The open-frame design is not the right foundation for reliable engineering-material printing. Also consider the printer-only version if you will print occasional single-color parts; the multicolor hardware adds cost and can create purge waste.

Check the current A1 listing at Bambu Lab.

Best enclosed all-rounder deal: Bambu Lab P1S AMS 2 Pro Combo

The P1S AMS 2 Pro Combo had the most striking observed price: $579, compared with an advertised $1,124 reference price. It combines an enclosed CoreXY printer, automatic calibration, and multicolor or multimaterial capability in a 256 × 256 × 256 mm format.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

This is potentially the best purchase for a buyer who wants a more capable, enclosed machine without moving to a large-format or professional system. The enclosure is useful for temperature-sensitive materials and helps contain drafts, though it does not by itself make every engineering filament easy or safe to print.

The unusually high reference price is the important qualification. Confirm that the listing really includes the stated AMS 2 Pro hardware, identify every accessory in the box, and compare the package with the normal street price of the equivalent P1S configuration. Treat “down from $1,124” as an advertised comparison, not proven historical savings.

Skip it if: you only print occasional single-color PLA and do not need an enclosure. A printer-only model may offer a lower effective cost and fewer maintenance points.

Check Bambu Lab’s current U.S. store listing.

Best inexpensive enclosed printer: Creality K1C 2025

The K1C 2025 was observed at $369 on Creality’s store. It is an enclosed CoreXY printer with a 220 × 220 × 250 mm build volume, Klipper firmware, a touchscreen, an AI-supported camera, and a hardened or steel-tipped nozzle suited to abrasive filament such as carbon-fiber-filled materials.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That makes it a strong value for buyers who want speed, an enclosure, and more material flexibility than an entry-level open-frame printer. The smaller build volume is still adequate for most household parts, organizers, prototypes, and many cosplay components.

Creality’s listings can mix printer-only, basic-combo, and other configurations. TechRadar separately reported a K1C Basic Combo at $386.99, so compare the exact contents rather than assuming every K1C price describes the same package.

Best lower-cost multicolor alternative: Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Combo

The Centauri Carbon 2 Combo was listed at $379, down from an advertised $449. It is worth considering when you want an enclosed, low-cost multicolor setup but the Bambu options are unavailable or priced higher at checkout.

The key question is not only print quality. Compare the slicer workflow, replacement parts, support documentation, filament-system accessories, and local availability. A lower purchase price can lose its advantage if a replacement component is difficult to obtain or the bundle does not contain the hardware you expected.

Skip it if: you want to minimize ecosystem experimentation or already own accessories designed for another brand.

Best cheap basic FDM printer: Creality Ender-3 V3 SE

At an observed $199, the Ender-3 V3 SE is the lowest-cost conventional recommendation in this group. It is suitable for buyers who primarily want inexpensive PLA or PETG printing and are willing to accept a simpler feature set than newer enclosed CoreXY machines.

This is a sensible choice for a student, casual maker, or first-time buyer with a limited budget—but the sticker price should not be confused with a turnkey experience. Budget time for learning, occasional adjustment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Skip it if: you expect the printer to be nearly hands-off, need camera monitoring, require an enclosure, or want included multicolor printing.

Best budget open-frame alternative: Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro

The Neptune 4 Pro was observed at $229, down from an advertised $274. It is a value-oriented single-color FDM printer with an open frame and a larger feature set than the cheapest entry-level machines.

Its open design is appropriate for ordinary PLA and many PETG projects, but it limits temperature control and makes it a poor match for reliable ABS or ASA printing. The machine is best judged against other budget open-frame printers, not against enclosed engineering-material systems.

Best resin deal for miniatures: Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra

The Saturn 4 Ultra was listed at $379, compared with an advertised former price of $593.99. Resin is the right technology for highly detailed miniatures, jewelry prototypes, and small models where surface detail matters more than low-mess operation.

However, the printer price is only one part of the purchase. Budget for resin, gloves, eye protection, cleaning supplies, washing, curing, waste handling, and appropriate ventilation. A wash-and-cure machine may also be necessary for a practical workflow.

Skip it if: the printer would be used in a bedroom, poorly ventilated room, or around children without close adult control. Resin is not a simple substitute for PLA FDM printing.

Best large-format deal: Creality K2 Plus Combo

The K2 Plus Combo was observed at $1,099, down from an advertised $1,499. Its 350 mm-class build volume, heated chamber, dual AI cameras, and support for up to 16 colors make it relevant to buyers producing large props, helmets, furniture-scale components, or fewer-part assemblies.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Large-format printing can reduce the number of pieces in a project, but it also raises the cost of failure. Check that the printer fits through doors and onto the intended surface, and account for bed-heating time, electricity, material usage, and the space needed around the machine.

Skip it if: your projects fit comfortably within a 220–256 mm build area. Paying for unused volume is not a saving.

Best professional or hybrid machine: Bambu Lab H2D Combo

The H2D Combo was listed at $1,749, down from an advertised $1,999. It is aimed at professional or advanced users who want 3D printing combined with laser cutting or engraving functions.

For a workshop that genuinely needs both capabilities, consolidating equipment may justify the price. For ordinary hobby printing, the additional cost and complexity are difficult to justify compared with a dedicated FDM printer.

Other deals worth comparing

TechRadar also reported these Anycubic price signals:

  • Kobra X multicolor: $299.98, advertised down from $459.99.
  • Kobra S1 Combo: $429.99, advertised down from $649.99.
  • Kobra X Combo: $529.99, advertised down from $689.99.
  • Photon Mono 4 Ultra: $279.99, advertised down from $329.99.
  • Photon Mono M7 Pro: $499.99, advertised down from $669.99.
  • Photon P1 14K: $599.99, advertised down from $789.99.

These may undercut comparable bundles, but compare software, replacement parts, warranty handling, and the exact contents of each multicolor or resin package before treating the lower price as the better purchase. Visit Anycubic’s store to verify current configurations.

What about Prusa?

Prusa can be worth paying more for, but it should not automatically be presented as the cheapest deal. Its value proposition is long-term ownership: repairability, documentation, parts availability, community support, and an open-source-oriented ecosystem.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The official Prusa announcement inspected for this roundup described a July 2026 Flash Summer Deal with 20% off the MK4S and reduced CORE One+ shipping. That is historical evidence, not proof that the discount remained active on August 18 or is active now. Check Prusa’s current store before describing either promotion as live.

FDM versus resin: the decision that matters most

Choose FDM for general-purpose making

FDM printers melt filament and are generally the better fit for brackets, organizers, functional parts, cosplay components, prototypes, and larger objects. PLA is usually the easiest starting material; PETG adds useful toughness and heat resistance for many projects; TPU can work when the specific printer and setup support flexible filament.

FDM produces visible layer lines and usually cannot match resin for tiny surface detail. Open-frame FDM printers are primarily PLA- and PETG-focused. Enclosed models are better candidates for ABS, ASA, nylon, polycarbonate, and carbon-fiber-filled materials, but an enclosure, hardened components, drying, ventilation, and suitable material profiles may all be necessary.

Choose resin for detail-heavy small parts

Resin printers are well suited to miniatures and highly detailed models, but they create a more demanding safety and cleanup process. Liquid resin should be handled with appropriate gloves and eye protection, with ventilation, washing, curing, and waste disposal planned before purchase.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The cheapest resin printer is not the cheapest complete setup. Add the cost of a wash-and-cure solution, resin, cleaning supplies, protective equipment, and any ventilation equipment to the advertised printer price.

Printer-only or combo?

A printer-only listing includes the machine and its normal printing hardware. A combo may include an AMS, ACE, or similar automatic filament-switching system; extra filament; an accessory pack; or, in the case of a hybrid machine, equipment unrelated to ordinary 3D printing. Read the contents line by line.

A multicolor bundle is worthwhile when you expect to use automatic color changes or multimaterial workflows. It is often poor value for single-color functional parts because it adds upfront cost, purge waste, setup, maintenance, and additional failure points. Multiple spools also need sensible dry storage, especially for moisture-sensitive materials.

How to calculate the real cost

Use this formula rather than comparing the advertised discount percentage:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Effective cost = printer + required accessories + initial materials + shipping + tax + likely replacement parts.

For multicolor systems, add the filament-switching hardware, extra spools, purge waste, and dry storage. For resin, add the wash-and-cure equipment, resin, gloves, cleaning supplies, ventilation, and waste-handling materials.

Also check whether the manufacturer requires an account or cloud-connected app for important functions, whether local or offline printing is available, whether third-party filament is supported, and whether proprietary identification systems affect material cost. These details can matter more than a $50 sale difference for schools, businesses, privacy-conscious buyers, and remote installations.

How to verify a 3D printer deal before checkout

  1. Confirm the exact model and configuration. “Combo” may mean an AMS, extra filament, or a different accessory package.
  2. Check the seller and warranty. Manufacturer stores, major retailers, and marketplace sellers may offer different return windows and support.
  3. Check stock and region. The listed price may apply only to a U.S. warehouse, selected color, or limited inventory.
  4. Apply coupons correctly. Some discounts require a login, email signup, app, or minimum basket value.
  5. Add shipping and tax. Large printers can carry meaningful freight charges, and listed U.S. prices commonly exclude sales tax.
  6. Compare the normal street price. A former MSRP is not automatically a genuine recent selling price.
  7. Budget for materials and maintenance. Include filament or resin, nozzles, build plates, drying, cleaning, and safety equipment.
  8. Recheck the checkout total. That final amount—not the headline banner—is the price that controls.

Bottom line

For most beginners who want an easy path into multicolor FDM printing, the Bambu Lab A1 Combo at the observed $399 is the strongest broadly defensible value. Choose the P1S bundle instead if you need an enclosure and can verify that the $579 listing contains the stated AMS 2 Pro configuration. The Creality K1C is the better budget enclosed alternative, while the Ender-3 V3 SE and Neptune 4 Pro make sense only when the lowest entry price matters more than turnkey convenience.
