Card and debit processing is also quote-based at 2.90% plus $0.30 per transaction, with monthly charges and possible 1.00% card-not-present, $0.75 batch and $5.95 monthly PCI DSS fees. Other conditional fees appear on the standard pricing page.
Businesses processing more than $50,000 a month may qualify for lower processing rates by requesting a custom quote.
Where it runs
PaySimple lists Android, iPhone and iPad apps, along with web and API services. The mobile apps handle checkout, recurring schedules and customer information, including services, reports and dashboards.
Its developer offering uses hosted web, mobile and API services with RESTful APIs, webhooks and checkout tools. PaySimple's developer pages do not provide a self-hosted installation option.
Protection, as PaySimple publishes it
According to PaySimple, it has PCI DSS certification, encrypts stored credit-card data, and does not retain CVV2 or swiped-track information.
PaySimple reports obtaining an annual Type 2 SOC 2 report that covers security, availability, processing integrity and confidentiality. These are PaySimple's own statements.
Strengths
Customers can pay online, in person or by mobile device using cards, ACH, eChecks, cash, checks, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Recurring billing, payment plans, electronic invoices, payment links and customer self-service are included across the platform's tools.
Software integrations can use REST APIs, hosted checkout, webhooks and mobile SDK documentation.
Catches and conditions
Several processing prices are quote-based, and card processing can add monthly, batch, PCI DSS and card-not-present fees. Chargeback and ACH return fees can also apply.
API 5 carries a beta label and is not yet feature-complete relative to API 4. PaySimple reports that its QuickBooks Online integration ended in May 2025.
Email and Help Center support is listed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
Who may want another option
Businesses that need a self-hosted installation or a current QuickBooks Online integration may not fit PaySimple's published setup.
Verdict
Service businesses seeking one system for card, ACH and eCheck collection, invoicing, recurring schedules and customer records may find PaySimple suitable. Its apps cover mobile checkout and account work, while its web and API services support hosted integrations. The main tradeoffs are paid-only access, quote-based processing plans, possible extra fees, a beta API 5 and the end of QuickBooks Online support. Businesses with self-hosting requirements or a need for that accounting connection should consider other software.
