Apple has not announced a verified U.S. Black Friday 2026 MacBook promotion. Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026, with Cyber Monday on November 30. Apple is more likely to offer an Apple Gift Card than a large direct price cut, while Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, B&H Photo, and Costco are more likely to offer upfront discounts. This guide was last checked against available pricing and reporting on August 18, 2026; prices and stock can change before publication or during the holiday sales period.
What to expect from Apple Black Friday 2026
There is no confirmed Apple U.S. Black Friday 2026 MacBook deal in the available official sources. Treat any advertised 2026 price before Apple or a retailer publishes its terms as a prediction, not a live offer.

Apple’s own holiday promotions have typically emphasized gift cards rather than substantial reductions at checkout. Third-party retailers are therefore the better places to look for a direct discount, particularly on standard configurations and outgoing-generation models. This is a forecast based on prior patterns, not a guarantee. TechRadar’s Black Friday MacBook coverage describes Apple’s usual gift-card approach, while MacRumors’ 2025 roundup documented direct retailer reductions.
Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27; Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30. MacBook promotions may begin in early or mid-November and run for a week or more, so the useful buying period is a campaign rather than a single 24-hour event.

Current Apple prices and saving options
As of August 18, Apple’s U.S. store listed MacBook Air from $1,299 and MacBook Pro from $1,999. Apple’s education store listed MacBook Air from $1,199 and MacBook Pro from $1,899. The education store also listed the MacBook Neo from $599 with education savings. See Apple’s Mac buying page and Apple’s education store for current terms.
Apple also promotes trade-in credit, education pricing, Apple-certified refurbished products, financing, and Apple Card benefits. These are different forms of value and should not be combined casually with a cash discount.
Apple Gift Card versus a direct discount
| Offer type | What you receive | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Direct price cut | Immediate reduction in checkout price | May apply only to selected configurations |
| Apple Gift Card | Credit for a later Apple purchase | Does not reduce the initial charge and is worth less to someone who will not use it |
| Trade-in credit | Credit for an eligible old device | Depends on model, condition, inspection, and shipping |
| Education pricing | Lower Apple price, sometimes with a gift card | Eligibility and promotion rules apply |
| Refurbished pricing | Lower price on a returned or previously owned device | Configuration and inventory are limited |
| Membership or cashback | Store rewards or post-purchase credit | May require membership, activation, or redemption |
A $150 gift card is not the same as $150 off. Count its full value only if you would otherwise spend $150 on an eligible Apple purchase.

Which MacBook should you target?
Best expected value: 13-inch MacBook Air
The 13-inch MacBook Air with M5 is the likely target for most buyers. It suits schoolwork, office applications, browsing, video calls, coding, light photo editing, and travel. Its portability, battery life, and quiet operation matter more for these tasks than the sustained performance of a MacBook Pro.
An older-generation Air can be the better buy if it has sufficient memory and storage and its discount is materially larger than the newest model’s discount.
Best large-screen value: 15-inch MacBook Air
The 15-inch Air is suited to buyers who want more workspace but do not need the Pro display, HDMI port, SD card slot, or sustained active cooling. Its primary advantage is screen size; do not assume it is automatically faster than the 13-inch Air.

Best for demanding work: 14-inch MacBook Pro
Choose the 14-inch Pro for video editing, heavy development builds and containers, 3D, audio, photography, and other sustained workloads. It also makes sense for buyers who need more ports or a higher-end display. Compare the complete configuration: memory, storage, chip, and price matter more than the “Pro” label alone.
Best maximum workspace: 16-inch MacBook Pro
The 16-inch Pro is justified when the larger screen directly improves your work or when M5 Pro or M5 Max performance is necessary. A large discount does not make it a sensible choice for basic school or office tasks.
Budget option: MacBook Neo or refurbished Apple silicon
Evaluate the MacBook Neo separately from the Air. Check its memory, storage, display, ports, performance, and likely useful lifespan rather than calling it a cheaper Air. Apple-certified refurbished MacBooks can also be compelling when the price gap is substantial; Apple’s refurbished store describes a one-year warranty. See Apple refurbished Mac products.

What counts as a good Black Friday price?
Use exact-configuration comparisons instead of a generic percentage-off claim:
- Excellent: near or below the lowest reliable historical price for that exact configuration.
- Good: clearly below Apple’s current price and competitive with recent retailer lows.
- Fair: a modest reduction that may not justify waiting.
- Poor: a small markdown, inflated comparison price, unsuitable configuration, or gift card whose value depends on future spending.
As a historical reference, MacRumors reported $250 reductions across M4 MacBook Air configurations in 2025, including a 13-inch model at $749, and a $250 reduction on the base M5 MacBook Pro, from $1,599 to $1,349. These are benchmarks, not promises for 2026.

Current retailer signals
On August 18, Best Buy’s sale page showed selected M5 MacBook Pro discounts, including:
- A 14-inch M5 Pro model with 24GB memory and 2TB SSD at $2,899, marked $300 below its comparable value.
- A 14-inch M5 model with 24GB memory and 1TB SSD at $2,049, compared with a listed previous price of $2,199.
- A 16-inch M5 Pro model with 24GB memory and 1TB SSD at $2,799, compared with $2,999.
These were August prices, not Black Friday offers. Check the live Best Buy MacBook page for current availability, seller, condition, and terms. Best Buy also lists refurbished and older Intel models; a large percentage discount does not automatically make those good values.
Amazon and Best Buy have historically been frequent sources of direct MacBook discounts. Walmart may have clearance pricing on older hardware, while B&H Photo and Costco are worth comparing for standard configurations and package value. Use Amazon, Walmart, B&H Photo, and Costco as retailer checks, not as evidence that a 2026 deal is already confirmed.
Should you buy now or wait?
Buy now when
- The exact configuration is at or near its historical low.
- You need the computer before November.
- The seller offers a strong return or price-adjustment policy.
- Stock is scarce or the configuration may be discontinued.
- You can return and rebuy if a later price adjustment is unavailable.
Wait when
- The discount is only $20 to $50.
- The model is old but not heavily discounted.
- You want a current-generation model and can wait until late November.
- The offer is mainly a gift card you would not otherwise use.
Current reporting says Apple raised MacBook prices in June 2026 and that retailers may still hold older inventory at lower prices. That makes today’s price worth tracking, but it does not guarantee that the price or stock will remain available. Tom’s Guide’s 2026 MacBook guide and its MacBook deals coverage provide current market context.
How to avoid a bad MacBook deal
- Match the configuration. Check chip, memory, storage, screen size, color, and model year. A headline may describe a 16GB/512GB model while the selected listing is 8GB/256GB.
- Compare recent street prices. A “saving” may simply reverse a recent price increase or compare against an inflated reference price.
- Verify the seller and condition. New, open-box, Apple-certified refurbished, and retailer-refurbished are not interchangeable.
- Check warranty and battery terms. This is especially important for refurbished products and marketplace listings.
- Calculate the real total. Include sales tax, shipping, membership fees, financing costs, and any required coupon.
- Separate trade-in value. Apple’s estimate depends on inspection; private resale may produce more money, while trade-in offers convenience.
- Read gift-card restrictions. Verify expiration, eligible purchases, stacking, and redemption terms when the 2026 promotion is published.
- Do not let financing hide the price. Compare the cash price and total financed amount, not only the monthly payment.
Deal-page update policy
When 2026 promotions appear, each listing should show the retailer, exact configuration, cash price before tax, deal type, seller condition, return and warranty information, and the date and time last checked. Expired offers should be removed rather than left beside undated “was/now” prices.
The most defensible strategy is to set a target price for the exact MacBook you need, monitor retailer prices before November, and buy early if the configuration reaches that target and the return policy protects you. Black Friday can produce excellent savings, but it is not automatically the cheapest or safest time to buy.
