What was Amazon Brazil’s Book Friday 2025?

Examples included 1984 by George Orwell, Dom Casmurro by Machado de Assis, Vidas Secas by Graciliano Ramos, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Cem Anos de Solidão by Gabriel García Márquez. Naming a title in the announcement does not establish its current price, format, edition or availability.
When did the sale run, and is it still active?
Book Friday 2025 ran May 15–19, 2025, in Brazil. It is a past promotion, not a current offer. Amazon’s announcement does not confirm what any listed book costs today, whether a particular edition remains in stock, or whether a similar discount has returned. Check the current product listing before treating a price as a deal.

How is it different from Amazon’s U.S. Black Friday event?
Amazon’s U.S. Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday events were separate from Brazil’s May Book Friday. Amazon announced the U.S. event for November 20 through December 1, 2025, advertising up to 80% off Kindle books and up to 65% off print books. For a title such as 1984 or Dom Casmurro, compare the actual listings rather than relying on the old event headline. A lower price is only useful if the listing matches what you want.
