These are modeled per-share valuations, not a single market-clearing price. A target can change when an analyst changes the assumed share count, financing plan, discount rate, terminal growth or probability assigned to a project, even if the latest operating results are unchanged.

Why do the targets assign so little value to external rocket launches?
In the Morgan Stanley example, rockets are treated as enabling infrastructure rather than the largest standalone revenue pool. Of a $300 target, less than 3% is assigned to external launch, about $118 to connectivity and $165 to enterprise AI.
That allocation does not make launch capability unimportant. Internal launches put satellites into orbit, support Starlink expansion and could eventually move computing hardware into space. The Associated Press reported $14.6 billion of Q3 2026 revenue, up 161%, and $4.4 billion of profit; it also said Starlink remained the largest profit generator in that quarter.
