Status as of August 16, 2026: YouTube TV’s $49.99-per-month promotion was reported on August 5, 2025, but its current availability could not be verified from the official pages reviewed. Do not assume the offer is still active. Check the final price at YouTube TV’s official signup page before subscribing.
When it was available, the deal offered YouTube TV for $49.99 per month for the first three months—about 39.8% below the then-listed $82.99 monthly price. It was a strong short-term discount, but the subscription normally continued at the regular rate after the promotion unless canceled.
What the original YouTube TV deal included
Tom’s Guide reported the promotion on August 5, 2025. The offer included:

Against that $82.99 comparison price, the discount was $33 per month, or $99 over three months—approximately 39.8%, commonly rounded to “nearly 40%.” The promotional terms and trial length come from the historical 2025 report, not from current official documentation.

At $82.99 per month, three months would have cost $248.97 before taxes and add-ons. That produces a gross savings of $99. Taxes vary by location, and premium networks, sports packages, and other add-ons are billed separately unless the checkout page explicitly says otherwise. Is the $49.99 offer still live?
The available evidence does not establish that the 2025 promotion remains active in 2026. YouTube TV’s current official help information lists the main plan at $82.99 per month plus tax and describes it as including more than 100 channels. A promotional offer may be expired, replaced, personalized, limited by location, or available only to selected users.
The checkout screen is the practical source of truth. If it does not clearly display $49.99 per month, the length of the promotional period, and the price that follows, assume you are not receiving the historical deal.

How to check the current price safely
- Go to tv.youtube.com in a browser.
- Sign in with your Google Account.
- Enter or confirm your home ZIP code and location.
- Review the available plan and promotional price.
- Remove unwanted premium networks or sports add-ons.
- Check the trial length, promotional end date, regular price, taxes, and renewal terms.
- Complete signup only if the total cost matches your expectations.
- Save the confirmation email or take a screenshot showing the offer and its end date.
YouTube TV uses your home ZIP code to determine local networks. Browser signup can also be preferable because some add-ons may not be available through Android app billing.
Who was eligible?
The original promotion was described as a new-user offer. YouTube TV’s official trial and billing guidance says eligibility generally depends on being new to YouTube TV and not having previously redeemed a trial. Its referral terms also exclude people who previously had a YouTube TV subscription or trial from that referral offer.
“New user” should not be interpreted as permission to create another Google Account to bypass restrictions. Previous subscriptions, trials, third-party billing, location, or the specific promotion’s terms may affect eligibility. Follow the terms shown in the signup flow.

What happens after the three-month discount?
The discounted subscription does not normally end automatically after month three. Unless you cancel, it generally continues as a paid membership at the applicable regular price. A trial also automatically converts to paid billing unless canceled.

The current official price signal for the main plan is $82.99 per month plus tax, but the amount shown in your account and checkout should control. Add-ons can increase the bill, and changing plans or billing arrangements during a promotion can cause the promotional price to be lost. How to cancel before regular billing
Use this browser path:
- Go to tv.youtube.com.
- Select your profile photo.
- Choose Settings.
- Open Membership.
- Select Manage.
- Choose Cancel membership.
- Select Cancel and confirm.
According to YouTube TV’s cancellation instructions, cancellation generally preserves access through the end of the current trial or paid billing period. It does not necessarily stop access immediately.

Set a calendar reminder several days before the promotional period ends. After canceling, verify the confirmation email or Membership page and check that no next charge is scheduled. Cancel separately listed add-ons if necessary. Deleting the YouTube TV app does not cancel billing.

The historical coverage highlighted major broadcast networks where available, sports networks, unlimited DVR, Multiview, sports catch-up features, family sharing, and integration with NFL Sunday Ticket. These benefits are useful, but they do not guarantee that every local station is available in every market. Recordings and access also depend on retaining the relevant membership and the applicable channel rights.

Family sharing is intended for people in the same household, not unrestricted account sharing. Sports packages, premium networks, and other optional services can add substantially to the advertised price.
Is it a good deal?
At $49.99 per month, the historical promotion was attractive for households that wanted local broadcast channels where available, ESPN and other major sports networks, a broad cable-style lineup, unlimited DVR, and multiple household profiles.
It is less compelling if you watch only a few channels, already pay for several entertainment services, want a sports-free budget plan, cannot receive your required local networks, or would keep the subscription at $82.99 plus tax after the discount. The relevant comparison is your all-in monthly cost—not the headline price alone.
Alternatives to consider
Do not assume another service is cheaper without checking its current checkout price, taxes, channel lineup, and promotional terms.
