Xiaomi said the Civi 4 Pro sold more than 200% of the Xiaomi Civi 3’s entire first-day sales total during its first 10 minutes on sale in China on March 26, 2024. That is a striking launch claim—but it does not mean the phone sold twice the Civi 3’s lifetime total, or that Xiaomi’s result has been independently audited.
The company did not disclose the underlying unit counts, revenue, inventory, or channel breakdown in the announcement reported by GizmoChina.
What Xiaomi’s “200%” figure actually means
The comparison is between two different time periods:
- Civi 4 Pro: sales during its first 10 minutes after the 10:00 a.m. China launch.
- Civi 3: sales across its entire first launch day.
“Exceeded 200%” means Xiaomi said the Civi 4 Pro sold more than twice the number of units used as the Civi 3’s full-day benchmark. It is not a 200% year-over-year increase calculated over equal periods, and it is not evidence that the Civi 4 Pro sold twice as many phones as the Civi 3 ever sold.

The cited report does not define whether “sales” means completed transactions, platform orders, or Xiaomi’s internal sales tally. Without absolute unit figures, the claim cannot be converted into market share, revenue, profit, or an independently verified sales record.
Launch timing and China prices
Xiaomi unveiled the phone in China in the week before its first sale. Retail availability began at 10:00 a.m. local time on March 26, 2024. The reported launch prices were:

Contemporary reports gave approximate dollar conversions, but those were exchange-rate estimates—not U.S. retail prices. The cited launch coverage did not present the Civi 4 Pro as a standard U.S.-market model.

Why the phone could attract early demand
The Civi family is positioned around slim, design-led hardware and portrait photography. The Civi 4 Pro combined that positioning with a substantial specification upgrade:

Xiaomi’s official Xiaomi 14 Civi product page confirms the broad platform, display, selfie-camera, battery, charging, and Leica positioning for the India-market counterpart. Specifications alone, however, do not prove camera quality or explain how much of the launch spike came from genuine long-term demand.
What the milestone proves—and what it does not
It does show
By Xiaomi’s own account, the Civi 4 Pro generated exceptionally strong initial transaction activity relative to the Civi 3’s first day. A ten-minute result beating a full-day comparison suggests substantial launch interest, at least within Xiaomi’s reported China sales channels.

It does not show
- The exact number of Civi 4 Pro units sold.
- The exact number sold by the Civi 3 on its first day.
- Revenue or profit.
- Whether every configuration and sales channel was included.
- Whether stock limits, flash-sale mechanics, advertising, or pent-up demand drove the result.
- Whether demand continued after launch day or translated into strong lifetime sales.
There is also a measurement issue: comparing ten minutes with a full day is useful as a headline indicator, but it is not an equal-window growth rate. A more rigorous comparison would require the same time window, the same channels, comparable inventory, and independently verifiable unit data.
China model versus the India-market Xiaomi 14 Civi
The initial event was a China launch. In India, Xiaomi introduced the related device under the Xiaomi 14 Civi name rather than Civi 4 Pro. Xiaomi’s FAQ scheduled the India first sale for June 20, 2024, through Mi.com, Flipkart, and Xiaomi retail outlets.

The official India specifications list 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB versions, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, a 6.55-inch 1.5K 120Hz quad-curved AMOLED display, 4,700mAh battery, 67W charging, HyperOS based on Android 14, a 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto, 12MP ultrawide, and dual 32MP front cameras. Those specifications should not automatically be treated as proof that every China configuration or feature was identical.

Practical implications for buyers and importers
The sales announcement is historical; it is not a current 2026 availability or value judgment. Anyone considering an imported China handset should verify:
- Supported LTE and 5G bands for the intended carrier.
- Google-service availability and the software region installed.
- Warranty, repair, notification, and update support in the buyer’s country.
- Whether the curved display creates screen-protector, accidental-touch, or repair-cost concerns.
- Whether the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 meets their performance needs; it should not automatically be described as equivalent to the era’s top flagship Snapdragon chips.
The India specification page lists network bands for that market, but those bands do not guarantee compatibility with every U.S. carrier. Xiaomi’s India product page is therefore useful product information and a regional buying reference—not proof of official U.S. availability.
Bottom line
Xiaomi’s March 26, 2024 statement was a strong company-reported China launch milestone: the Civi 4 Pro sold more than twice the Civi 3’s full first-day sales total in its first ten minutes. The headline is meaningful only when that denominator and the lack of disclosed absolute figures are made clear. It signals powerful early interest, not independently verified lifetime success, profitability, or global availability.
