XbotGo’s Falcon campaign did attract more than $1 million in Kickstarter pledges within two hours of launching on September 2, 2025. That figure is a crowdfunding milestone—not venture funding, audited revenue, or profit. The campaign ultimately reported $2,548,287 pledged by 5,099 backers before closing on October 17, 2025.
Falcon is an AI sports camera designed to automatically follow team action, record in 4K, livestream games, and create highlights. XbotGo’s current product page lists prices from $799, although it showed the camera as “Unavailable” on August 18, 2026. Buyers should also budget for a microSD card and, unless they choose a bundle, a suitable tripod.

What happened with the XbotGo Falcon launch?
Falcon launched on Kickstarter on September 2, 2025, with a stated goal of $5,000. New Atlas’s sponsored launch coverage reported that backers pledged more than $1 million within the first two hours.

The wording matters. Kickstarter pledges are not automatically the same as cash received, net sales, recognized revenue, or profit. The final amount does not account for platform fees, taxes, refunds, manufacturing, shipping, warranties, or other fulfillment costs. Strong backing demonstrates demand, but it does not independently prove that every promised feature works as advertised or that the company is profitable.

XbotGo describes itself as a consumer AI brand under Blink Tech, Inc., and identifies Dr. David Tan as its founder and designer. The company’s earlier Chameleon camera was also reported to have raised more than $300,000 on Kickstarter. Those company and founder descriptions should be understood as attributed claims rather than an independent corporate review.

What is Falcon?
Falcon is marketed as a standalone AI camera for recording team sports without a dedicated camera operator. XbotGo says its onboard AI can recognize players, follow game action, apply sport-specific tracking logic, and support jersey-number and body-type recognition.
The intended workflow is straightforward: mount the camera at an elevated position, select the relevant sport or tracking mode, and let it follow the action while recording. The system is also marketed for livestreaming, highlight creation, family archives, recruiting clips, and coaching review.
Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. Tracking can be affected by lighting, player density, obstructions, camera height, field or court size, distance, similar uniforms, rapid transitions, and network conditions. A player may be difficult to follow if they leave the frame or become obscured by spectators, officials, nets, goals, or other players.

Sports and current specifications
Launch materials promoted support for more than 20 sports or AI tracking modes. The current product page uses the more conservative wording “more than 10 sports” and specifically mentions soccer, basketball, football, hockey, tennis, lacrosse, and baseball, along with other team-sports modes.

Earlier launch coverage listed a 10,000-mAh battery, IP55 resistance, and 180° tilt. Because those figures differ from the current product page’s 9,600 mAh, IPX5, and 160° tilt, buyers should rely on the latest manual or specification sheet supplied by XbotGo.

XbotGo’s official product page listed these prices when checked on August 18, 2026:

The same page displayed Falcon as “Unavailable.” That is a time-specific availability snapshot, not a guarantee that the product remains out of stock. Check the official product page immediately before ordering.

The page also advertises free shipping, secure payments, a 30-day return policy, and global customer support. Confirm the applicable terms for your country, including warranty coverage, return-shipping responsibility, taxes, and delivery dates.
No required subscription—but there are extra costs
XbotGo markets Falcon as a one-time-purchase camera with no required subscription for core functions such as recording, AI tracking, livestreaming, editing, and highlight sharing. The product page also states that buyers receive 20 GB of free cloud storage.
That does not make the complete setup cost $799. A microSD card is required for recording and is not included. XbotGo recommends a UHS-I V30 or faster card, with support listed up to 1 TB. The Standard package also appears not to include a tripod, which is important for the elevated, wide-field setup the camera is designed to use.
There is another unresolved cost question: XbotGo lists AI Analysis as an upcoming add-on feature and says pricing plans are still being developed. Therefore, “no subscription” should be limited to the currently described core functions. It should not be read as a promise that every future cloud or analysis feature will remain free.

Who might find Falcon useful?
- Parents: It could reduce the need to operate a phone or camera from the sideline.
- Coaches: Automated full-game footage may be useful for review if tracking performs reliably in the relevant venue.
- Clubs and teams: The tripod bundles, livestreaming, and highlight workflow may be more practical than assigning a volunteer camera operator.
- Players: Recorded games may help with personal archives, recruiting clips, or skill review.
- Tournament organizers: Multiple cameras could provide hands-off coverage, but battery, connectivity, storage, and mounting logistics become more important.
- Casual families: Falcon may be excessive if they only need occasional clips and are comfortable operating a phone manually.
Reasons to be cautious
- Crowdfunding is not product validation: The $2.5 million campaign result shows market interest, not independently measured tracking accuracy or image quality.
- Battery life is limited for long events: The advertised runtime is approximately four hours, and livestreaming may increase power consumption.
- Weather protection is not waterproofing: IPX5/IP55-style claims do not mean submersion is safe or that every severe-weather condition is suitable.
- Storage is a prerequisite: A compatible microSD card must be purchased separately, formatted, and monitored during tournaments.
- Livestreaming depends on connectivity: Weak Wi-Fi, insufficient upload bandwidth, account authentication, pairing problems, or app failures can interrupt a stream.
- Setup affects tracking: A low, unstable, overly close, or poorly positioned tripod can reduce coverage and increase tracking failures.
- Future analysis pricing is unknown: AI Analysis may add a recurring or one-time charge later.
- Availability is uncertain: The official store showed the product as unavailable at the cited check date.
Questions to ask before buying
- Is Falcon currently in stock, and what is the expected delivery date?
- Does the selected package include the tripod needed for the intended setup?
- Is the microSD card included? If not, which specific cards are supported?
- Can the camera record a full tournament day with external power?
- Can it record and livestream simultaneously, and which platforms are supported?
- What happens when tracking loses the intended player?
- Which features are permanently included without a subscription?
- What will AI Analysis cost, and is it optional?
- What warranty applies in the buyer’s country?
- Who pays return shipping, and are there regional exclusions?
- Is the 20 GB cloud allowance available in the buyer’s country?
Verdict: impressive crowdfunding, unproven ownership economics
Falcon’s Kickstarter result is genuine and unusually strong: more than $1 million in pledges within two hours, followed by $2,548,287 from 5,099 backers. But that achievement should not be confused with audited revenue, profitability, or proof of professional-grade performance.
For a parent, coach, or club, Falcon may be worth considering if hands-free team recording, 4K capture, livestreaming, and the lack of a required subscription for core features outweigh the $799-plus setup cost. The better buying decision depends less on the original headline than on current stock, tripod and storage requirements, approximately four-hour battery life, real-world tracking reliability, warranty terms, and the eventual price of AI Analysis.
Compare the complete ownership cost—not just the camera price—with a phone or action-camera setup and with subscription-based sports platforms before committing.
