“Flipkart not working” can mean an app crash, a website error, an OTP delay, an unavailable product or a payment that has not produced an order. First compare the app with flipkart.com, then try another trusted network. If checkout is involved, check My Orders and your bank or UPI status before attempting payment again. That helps separate a local problem from an account, product, payment or temporary Flipkart-side issue—and reduces the risk of duplicate orders or payment attempts.
Quick diagnosis: what is failing?

Check whether Flipkart is down or the problem is local
There is no single symptom that proves Flipkart is down for everyone. A problem affecting the app and website on one phone could still be caused by that phone or its network. Use this short isolation test:
- Compare app and website. Open flipkart.com in a browser. If the site works but the app does not, focus on the app, its session or device.
- Change networks. Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or try another trusted connection. If Flipkart works on the second connection, the first network, router, DNS, VPN or filtering may be involved.
- Test a private browser window or another device. If that works, cookies, browser extensions or device-specific settings may be the cause.
- Identify what still works. If browsing works but one account, item, order or payment method fails, treat it as a specific account, product, serviceability or payment issue—not necessarily a site-wide outage.
If Flipkart fails across the app and website, on more than one device and network, a temporary service-side problem becomes more plausible. It is not proof by itself. Avoid repeatedly refreshing or starting checkout; wait and retry later, and check the official Flipkart Help Centre when available.
If the Flipkart app crashes, freezes or will not open
- Force-close Flipkart and reopen it. If it remains stuck, restart the phone.
- Check that the phone has free storage and update Flipkart through the official app store. Store versions and labels change, so use the update option shown on your device. The official Google Play listing is for Android; iPhone users should use the App Store.
- On Android, try Settings → Apps → Flipkart → Storage → Clear cache. Menu names vary by phone. Clearing cache is a low-risk troubleshooting step, but it is not a guaranteed fix.
- If the app still fails, Android may offer Clear storage or Clear data in the same area. This can sign you out and remove locally stored app data. Make sure you can access the account’s registered number and receive an OTP before using it.
- On iPhone, try Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Flipkart → Offload App, then reinstall if needed. Reinstalling may require you to sign in again.
- Test the website in a browser. Reinstalling will not fix a Flipkart-side outage, a payment-provider problem, an unavailable product or an account-specific restriction.
If flipkart.com will not load
- Check whether other websites open. If none do, troubleshoot the connection first.
- Open Flipkart in a private or incognito window. If it works there, cookies or site data may be stale.
- Try another browser. Temporarily disable a VPN, proxy or aggressive content blocker as a test; turn protection back on afterward if it is not the cause.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or restart the router. If Flipkart works only on one network, investigate the failing network, DNS or filtering rather than changing account settings.
- If needed, clear Flipkart’s site cookies/cache and check that the device date and time are set automatically.
A private window is a diagnostic test, not necessarily a permanent solution. If the site fails in multiple browsers and on multiple networks, wait before trying checkout again.

If login or OTP is not working
- Check that the phone number is the one registered to the account. If you sign in with a different number, your usual orders may not appear.
- Confirm mobile signal and check spam filtering, blocked-message settings and available message storage.
- Request one OTP and wait for it. Repeated requests can make an earlier code unusable or create confusion about which code is current.
- Complete login in either the app or the website rather than switching back and forth mid-flow.
- If login succeeds but the account looks empty, verify the number and account before assuming orders have disappeared.
Never share an OTP with a person claiming to be Flipkart support. If you suspect someone has accessed your account, use the official Help Centre, not a contact number from an unsolicited call, search result or social-media reply.
If search, product pages or the cart are not working
Refresh once, then sign out and back in or test the same page on the website. If one product fails but other items load, the item or its seller may be unavailable, the page may have changed, or the issue may be specific to your delivery location. Check the PIN code and address, and try a different seller or item if available.

If an item disappears from the cart after login, check whether it is still in stock and whether the selected seller or delivery location changed. Product availability and delivery can depend on the item, seller and address. Do not create extra accounts as a workaround; that can complicate verification, order history, offers and support.

The key question is whether the payment actually went through. A failed message on Flipkart does not, on its own, tell you the bank or UPI transaction status.

No debit is visible
Check that the cart, address and payment option are correct. Payment methods can vary by order, seller, address and account. If you retry, use a legitimate available method and avoid rapidly repeating failed attempts.
The bank or UPI app shows a debit, success or pending status
- Do not immediately place the order again.
- Check My Orders in the app and on the website. Also check email, SMS and app notifications.
- Review the bank or UPI transaction status. Record the transaction ID, amount, time and payment method; keep screenshots of the relevant status and any error.
- If no order appears or the order remains pending, use the official Help Centre and select the relevant payment or order issue.
- If the transaction remains pending or is ultimately reversed, contact the bank or payment provider as appropriate. Do not assume a reversal is instant or rely on a universal refund deadline: timing and handling depend on the transaction and payment method.
Repeated attempts after a debit can lead to multiple pending authorisations or duplicate orders. Stop and check the transaction and order status before another attempt.

UPI-specific checks
- Confirm the intended UPI app is installed, active and linked to the bank account you mean to use.
- Approve a collect request or intent only inside the official payment app, after checking the payee and amount.
- If one payment route fails, consider another available route only after checking that the first attempt did not debit money.
- Never transfer money manually to a phone number or account supplied by someone claiming they can fix a Flipkart payment.
If an order is missing, pending, cancelled or on hold
- Make sure you are signed in to the account used to place the order.
- Check My Orders in both the app and website, then review order-related email, SMS and bank or UPI notifications.
- If payment is pending, let its status settle and contact support before buying the item again. Do not cancel and reorder solely because an order page is temporarily unavailable.
- Save screenshots of the order status and payment details, and note the order ID or transaction ID if available.
- Use the order-specific Help or Need Help route when available.
Do not infer a general outage or a guaranteed refund outcome from an individual complaint online. Your account’s order status and transaction record are more useful for resolving your case.
If the Help Centre will not connect you to support
Flipkart’s support guide describes this app route: Account → Help Centre → select the relevant order or issue → Need Help. The available next step may include chat, call or email, but the channel shown can vary by issue, account and current interface.

You can also go directly to the official Help Centre or sign in at flipkart.com and use the account/help route shown there. If the app is inaccessible, try the website; if both are unavailable, retry later rather than using an unofficial customer-care number. Keep your order ID, registered phone number, transaction ID, screenshots and exact error message ready.
Protect your account and money from fake support
Use the Help Centre inside Flipkart’s official app or website. Treat a contact as suspicious if it asks for an OTP, UPI PIN, card CVV, remote-access app, “verification fee” or manual transfer—or claims a payment or order can be unblocked only if you pay. Do not click support links sent by unsolicited callers or social-media accounts. Share transaction details only through the official support flow or with your bank or payment provider when appropriate.
When to wait and when to escalate
- Wait and retry later: the app and site both fail across multiple networks, or a temporary loading problem affects more than one function. Avoid repeated checkout attempts while status is unclear.
- Contact Flipkart promptly: a debit has no matching order, an order is stuck or missing, a payment status is unclear, or you need help with a specific account or item. Use the official Help Centre.
- Contact your bank or payment provider: a transaction is pending, disputed or does not match the status shown by Flipkart. For an unauthorised transaction, contact the provider promptly through its official channel.
For payment or order disputes, note what you tried and when. A clear record of the error, order status and transaction reference helps support distinguish a failed checkout from a completed debit or a pending transaction.
