Yes—glance.intuit.com is a legitimate Intuit subdomain used to launch Glance-based customer support. As of August 18, 2026, the address redirects to an Intuit meeting and download page at meet.app.intuit.com. However, a legitimate website does not prove that the person who sent you there works for Intuit. A scammer can use a genuine support tool as a pretext for accessing your computer.
Use Glance only after you independently start or verify an Intuit support case, and never share passwords, one-time security codes, banking access, or unrestricted control of your computer.
What does glance.intuit.com do?
Glance is a visual customer-support platform supplied by Glance Networks. It can help a support representative see what is happening on your screen while you troubleshoot QuickBooks, TurboTax, or another Intuit product.
glance.intuit.com is not an accounting, tax, antivirus, or banking application. It is an Intuit-hosted entry point for a support or visual-assistance session. The live address currently redirects to Intuit’s meeting/download service, with a session-related parameter. That destination and the on-screen instructions may change over time.

Glance technology can be used in several ways:

These modes are not interchangeable. Glance’s Screen Share documentation says that an agent may see the visitor’s entire screen. A cobrowsing implementation may limit visibility more narrowly, but you should confirm what you are sharing before approving the session.
Is glance.intuit.com really connected to Intuit?
The address is a subdomain of intuit.com, and its current redirect leads to meet.app.intuit.com. That is strong evidence that the domain is controlled by Intuit and is an official support entry point. It does not authenticate an unexpected caller, email sender, pop-up, or chat participant.
The safest way to use it is to open Intuit’s website manually or use the support option inside your QuickBooks, TurboTax, or other Intuit account. Ask the representative to confirm the support case and explain why visual assistance is needed. Do not rely on a link supplied by an unsolicited caller when you can reach the same support workflow independently.
What can an Intuit support agent see?
That depends on the sharing mode and the screen or window you approve. With desktop Screen Share, Glance says the representative can see what you see on the shared screen. Briefly switching to another window can therefore expose it during the session.
Before sharing:
- Close email, cloud storage, password managers, banking sites, payroll systems, medical records, and unrelated documents.
- Hide tax returns, Social Security numbers, bank-account numbers, card details, and employee information unless they are genuinely necessary for the support task.
- If you use multiple monitors, share only the required monitor when the interface offers that choice.
- Use application or screen-selection controls where available.
Encryption does not make information invisible to an authorized participant. It protects the connection in transit; it does not stop the representative from seeing information you deliberately display.

Can Glance control your computer?
Potentially. According to Glance’s Screen Share documentation, remote control can allow permission-based mouse and keyboard input. The visitor remains present and can leave the session, but you should treat remote control as a higher-risk permission than screen viewing.
Grant it only when necessary, watch every action, and revoke permission or end the session if the representative opens unrelated programs, asks for confidential information, or behaves unexpectedly. A legitimate support agent should not need your Intuit password, banking password, full payment-card number, or one-time authentication code.

Glance states that its support screen-sharing product is designed for attended sessions: the guest must be present to approve the session, and it is not intended for unattended remote access or automatic reconnection after a reboot.
Is Glance safe and encrypted?
Glance says its session traffic uses TLS and that its servers do not accept TLS versions earlier than 1.2. It also says session content is not recorded or stored, although certain session metadata may be retained. These are statements about Glance’s service, not a guarantee that every Intuit integration, endpoint, or support employee is risk-free.
Glance’s stated metadata practices include retaining information such as session start and stop times, participant count, IP addresses, the agent’s Glance address, session type, and guest contact information when supplied. Its documentation says IP addresses are removed from call-detail records after three months, guest contact information after six months, and call-detail records are deleted after two years. Intuit may have separate policies for its own systems.

Glance also lists security and compliance programs, including ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2, in its security materials. That does not constitute a complete security assessment of a particular Intuit support workflow.

The domain is not inherently malware merely because it downloads a support client. Remote-support software is powerful by design and can be abused when a scammer persuades someone to install it.
Before downloading or launching anything, confirm that:
- The address begins with
https://and is exactlyglance.intuit.comor an expected Intuit destination such asmeet.app.intuit.com. - You initiated or independently verified the support case.
- The installer’s publisher and digital signature match the expected vendor.
- The file did not arrive as an unsolicited attachment, shortened link, or suspicious browser pop-up.
Do not disable antivirus, firewall, browser protections, or Windows/macOS security controls simply because a caller says the session will not work otherwise. Do not install unrelated tools such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer unless you independently intended to use them and understand the reason.
How to use glance.intuit.com safely
Before opening it
- Start at Intuit’s official website or your Intuit account dashboard.
- Confirm that you have an active support interaction.
- Ask what the representative will be able to see and whether screen viewing is enough.
- Stop if the request came from an unsolicited call, text, email, social-media message, or browser alert.
Before sharing
- Close unrelated applications and tabs.
- Remove private paperwork from view.
- Choose only the required window, tab, or monitor if that option is available.
- Never type a password, security answer, one-time code, or full financial account number while the agent is watching.
During the session
- Keep the discussion limited to the Intuit problem.
- Watch the representative’s actions.
- Reject unexpected administrator or privilege prompts.
- End the session if the agent requests gift cards, cryptocurrency, wire transfers, bank access, credentials, or unrelated remote access.
After the session
- Click Leave, Stop Sharing, or End Session, depending on the current interface.
- Close the meeting or support window.
- Review recent downloads and installed applications.
- Uninstall a guest application through the normal Windows or macOS process if you do not expect to use it again.
Older Glance instructions refer to a GlanceGuest client, a session key, a visible Leave control, and possible automatic removal after a PC support session. Because the Intuit address now redirects to a newer meeting/download endpoint, do not assume that every current session uses those exact labels or uninstall behavior.

Legitimate support session or scam?

The practical rule is simple: trust the support channel, not merely the URL. If someone contacted you unexpectedly, end the interaction and reopen support from Intuit’s official site or account dashboard.

- End the session and disconnect the computer from the internet if the person is still connected.
- From a clean device, change any password that may have been exposed, starting with your email and Intuit account.
- Contact your bank or card issuer immediately if financial information, payment credentials, or banking access was visible.
- Review newly installed applications, browser extensions, downloads, startup items, and recent account activity.
- Run your operating system’s security checks and seek qualified technical help if remote-control software remains installed.
- Report the incident to Intuit through its official privacy and security reporting page and report financial fraud to the relevant authorities.
Troubleshooting a failed session
A failed Glance session is not automatically evidence of a scam. Possible causes include a firewall or proxy, endpoint-security policy, blocked outbound traffic, an unsupported browser or device, an expired session, or a stale session code. Glance documents outbound TLS connections using port 5501, with HTTPS fallback on port 443, and requires TLS 1.2 or later.
Ask the verified Intuit agent to issue a new session invitation or provide an approved alternative. Do not weaken security settings permanently or download software from a different, unofficial website to bypass the problem.

Does Glance record the session?
Glance says it does not record or store screen-sharing content, but it retains certain session metadata. That statement does not rule out notes or screenshots made elsewhere under an organization’s procedures.
Do I need to give an agent my password?
No. A support representative should not need your Intuit, banking, email, or password-manager password, nor a one-time authentication code.
How do I uninstall the Glance guest software?
End the session, then remove any remaining guest application through the normal Windows or macOS uninstall process. Older Glance documentation describes possible automatic removal, but current Intuit sessions may use different software.
