Torq Network announced an Android app for “free mining” on June 24, 2024, but the announcement does not establish that phones performed blockchain mining, that app balances could be withdrawn as a tradable token, or that users could earn money. It described one-tap rewards, referrals and a paid speed boost. As of August 18, 2026, current app availability, withdrawal evidence and the link between its rewards and the on-chain TQS token remain unverified.
What Torq announced
A June 24, 2024 press release from Dubai said Torq Network had launched a free Android app through Google Play. It advertised one-tap mining of native Torq tokens, referral rewards of up to two tiers, a paid feature called Torq Fuel to increase mining speed, and in-app support. It also listed a decentralized exchange, a swap product and a staking web app as forthcoming plans. These are claims and plans in the project’s announcement, not independent evidence that the app was profitable, widely used or that the planned products became operational.
The announcement does not say whether the app was a public beta or a production release, explain its reward-accounting system, or provide a technical description of how tokens were generated. A duplicate press-release version is not independent confirmation of the claims.

Does “mining” mean the phone mines a blockchain?
Not necessarily. In conventional proof-of-work mining, computers perform measurable computational work as part of a blockchain’s consensus process. Torq’s release describes tapping to start an app-based earning session but provides no consensus mechanism, hash-rate information, energy use, validator role or other evidence that users’ phones produce blocks or contribute computing power.

On the evidence in the announcement, the safer description is an app-based rewards or tap-to-earn system. Calling the feature “mining” does not by itself show that a phone is mining a blockchain. Technical documentation would be needed to establish that.
What the release does—and does not—tell users

Unofficial forum posts have alleged terms such as 16 Torq per hour, a 20% invitation bonus, USDT commissions on some fuel purchases and immediate withdrawals. Those are user-posted claims, not verified app terms or transaction evidence, and should not be used to estimate returns.

Is the app’s Torq balance the same as TQS?
The connection is not established by the available evidence. The launch release refers to “native Torq tokens.” Separately, BscScan records a BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain named Torq Swap (TQS), with a maximum and total supply of 1 billion tokens and 18 decimals. Its contract is 0x01da6501d1083464f9a2c9a8cacf89f2dc160a97; BscScan says the contract source was verified on July 9, 2024.

A token contract proves that a token exists on-chain, not that app credits convert one-for-one into TQS, are transferable, can be withdrawn, or can be sold at a meaningful price. The indexed BscScan overview showed 189 holders and no displayed market capitalization. Those snapshot figures do not establish current trading activity or liquidity. Confirm the asset and contract from current official documentation before connecting a wallet or making a transaction.

Can users make money from Torq?
The available evidence does not establish profitability. An in-app balance is not cash: its value depends on whether it can be withdrawn, whether the received asset is the expected token, and whether there is sufficient genuine market liquidity to sell it after network and platform fees. Referral rewards and a paid speed boost do not solve those questions.
Recruitment-based rewards also deserve scrutiny. Before inviting anyone, find out whether commissions are paid in a liquid asset or an internal balance, what activity triggers them, and whether purchases by new users help fund earlier rewards. Do not treat referral income as guaranteed or “passive.” If rewards do have market value, they may also create recordkeeping or tax obligations; rules depend on your jurisdiction and circumstances.

Never pay an extra fee to “unlock” a withdrawal without independently verifying the requirement and the destination. Treat guaranteed-return claims, pressure to buy Torq Fuel, or requests for a wallet seed phrase as serious warning signs. The evidence here supports caution, not a definitive claim that Torq is fraudulent.

Checklist before installing, sharing data or paying
- Verify distribution. Check that the app is currently listed in Google Play, and compare the developer identity, official website, privacy policy and support contact. Avoid APKs or download links circulated in referral posts.
- Review permissions and privacy. Check what personal information and device permissions the app requests, and whether those requests fit its function. Be cautious about uploading contacts or granting unrelated access.
- Understand custody. Find out whether the app creates or controls a wallet and who controls its keys. Never enter a seed phrase or private key into an app or support chat. If you choose to test an unfamiliar service, use a separate email and wallet with no meaningful funds.
- Verify a withdrawal, not just a balance. Look for a transaction hash that can be checked on the relevant blockchain explorer. Confirm the token contract, amount, destination and fees; a screenshot of an in-app credit is not proof of an on-chain payment.
- Check liquidity and sale conditions. Confirm there is real trading activity and enough liquidity to sell a small amount without an extreme price impact. A token listing or contract address alone does not guarantee that you can convert tokens to cash.
- Calculate paid-feature economics. Before buying Torq Fuel, confirm its price, terms, refund rules and effect on withdrawable rewards. Do not spend money solely to unlock a withdrawal or based on a projected token value that cannot be verified.
- Assess referral conditions. Read the full commission and eligibility terms. Do not promote the app to friends as an income opportunity unless you can substantiate the claims and explain the risks.
If the app disappears, support stops responding, accounts are suspended, or withdrawals require unexplained payments, stop sending money and preserve records. Do not share credentials while seeking help.
Verdict
The June 2024 launch announcement is real, but its “free mining” description is not accompanied by evidence of phone-based blockchain mining, reliable withdrawals, profitable rewards or a confirmed link between app balances and TQS. The project’s current app status and roadmap completion also remain unverified as of August 18, 2026. Treat Torq as an unverified crypto-rewards project, not a proven way to earn passive income; do not pay for acceleration or recruit others on the assumption its credits have cash value.
