Yes, the deal was real—but it is not a current $499 promotion. Best Buy sold a Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 Copilot+ laptop with an OLED touchscreen for $499.99 during a holiday promotion reported on December 23, 2025. The advertised offer was scheduled to end on December 25, 2025. There is no reliable evidence that the same new configuration is still available at that price.
That matters because current Yoga 7a OLED models listed by Best Buy are priced substantially higher. If you find the older configuration near $500 through clearance or refurbished inventory, it may still be worth considering—but verify the exact model, condition, seller, warranty, and return policy first.
What the $499 Lenovo Yoga 7 deal included
The original deal covered a Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 with an AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processor, 16GB of memory, a 512GB SSD, and a 14-inch OLED touchscreen. HotHardware reported the Best Buy price as $499.99, representing a stated $450 saving.

The deal report did not clearly identify a complete manufacturer model number or Best Buy SKU. That means shoppers should not assume that every listing called “Yoga 7,” “Yoga 7i,” “Yoga 7a,” or “Yoga Slim 7” is the same laptop.

These are the specifications reported for the promotional unit, not a universal specification sheet for every Yoga 7 generation.

Why it was such a strong value
The OLED panel was the main reason this laptop stood out. Budget Windows laptops commonly use basic IPS or TN displays, while this Yoga 7 combined OLED contrast and wide-gamut color with touch support and a 360-degree hinge.
For $499.99, buyers also received 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. That was a more useful baseline than many entry-level laptops with 8GB of RAM and smaller storage. The Ryzen AI platform added a modern processor and an NPU rated for up to 50 TOPS, while the overall platform was reported at up to 59 TOPS.

In practical terms, the package was well suited to students, office users, home users, and travelers who wanted one flexible device for documents, web browsing, video calls, streaming, presentations, and handwritten or touch-based interaction.

- Note-taking and presentations in tent or tablet mode
- Light photo editing and casual creative work
- Older or lightweight games at appropriate settings
- Everyday Windows features associated with Copilot+ PCs
Important limitations
The Radeon 840M is integrated graphics, not a discrete gaming GPU. The laptop should not be treated as a gaming machine or mobile workstation. It may handle casual gaming, but demanding modern games, serious 3D work, and GPU-heavy creative applications are outside its intended class.
The 512GB SSD is reasonable for everyday use but can fill quickly with large games, video projects, extensive photo libraries, virtual machines, or local AI models. The original deal coverage also identified 1TB storage as preferable, although the smaller drive helped keep the price down.
The LPDDR5X memory is likely soldered, as is common in thin convertible laptops, but upgradeability should not be assumed without service documentation for the exact model. The same caution applies to storage.

Is the Lenovo Yoga 7 still available for $499?
It should not be treated as an active $499 deal. The original offer was explicitly tied to the Christmas holiday and was scheduled to end on December 25, 2025. As of September 22, 2026, the supplied evidence does not verify that the same new Ryzen AI 5 340/OLED configuration remains available for $499.99.
Best Buy’s current Yoga search results show newer models at much higher prices, including:

These are newer or different configurations, not proof that the 2025 discounted laptop was worth the higher comparison price. The reported $450 saving should be understood as the stated promotional comparison, not as an independently established market valuation.

If a clearance, open-box, or refurbished listing appears near $500, compare the actual product details rather than relying on the “Yoga 7” name.
- Confirm the processor. Look specifically for Ryzen AI 5 340. A Ryzen AI 5 430, Ryzen AI 7 445, Intel model, or older Ryzen chip is a different configuration.
- Confirm the screen. Make sure it is a 14-inch OLED touchscreen, not an LCD panel or a different-size model.
- Check memory and storage. The attractive configuration had 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.
- Check condition. New, open-box, refurbished, and marketplace listings can have different warranties, accessories, and return periods.
- Check the seller. A third-party marketplace seller may not provide the same support or return terms as Best Buy.
- Inspect the included accessories. Confirm that the charger is included and that any advertised stylus is actually part of the package.
- Check the OLED panel. For open-box units, inspect for dead pixels, scratches, image retention, and uneven brightness.
- Review the return policy and warranty. A low price is less attractive if the unit has limited coverage or cannot be returned.
Best Buy’s clearance listings and refurbished listings can mix generations and conditions, so verify the exact model identifier at checkout.
Current alternatives and what they change
Yoga 7a 14-inch OLED with Ryzen AI 5 430
The observed Best Buy listing was $1,299.99 with 16GB of memory, 512GB of storage, and a 2K OLED touchscreen. It is the closest current-family option for shoppers who specifically want a Yoga-style OLED convertible, but it is not a budget replacement for the historical $499.99 deal.

Yoga 7a 14-inch or 16-inch OLED with Ryzen AI 7 445
The observed 24GB/512GB configurations were listed at $1,549.99. These models offer a higher-tier processor and more memory, while the 16-inch version provides a larger workspace. The larger model is less convenient for travel, and neither should be confused with the older Ryzen AI 5 340 machine.
Independent testing of a newer 2026 Yoga 7 2-in-1 16 configuration found that the Ryzen AI 7 445 version could be slower and less efficient than an Intel Lunar Lake-based Yoga 7 in some workloads. Yoga Slim 7x
Some observed Best Buy results showed Yoga Slim 7x models at $799.99, with alternate offers around $493.99. This is a different product family, however. It may appeal to shoppers seeking a lower-priced Yoga-family laptop, but check whether the specific model has the convertible hinge, touchscreen, processor platform, and Windows compatibility you need. Do not present it as the same Yoga 7 deal.

A genuine new or manufacturer-refurbished unit near $500 would still make sense for a student, home user, office worker, or traveler who values OLED image quality, touch input, a 360-degree hinge, 16GB of memory, and a modern SSD.
It is a poor fit for serious gaming, demanding 4K video production, large local AI workloads, buyers who need 1TB or more of storage, or anyone who requires a matte high-refresh display. Buyers who cannot accept potentially soldered memory should also look elsewhere unless the exact service documentation confirms upgrade options.
Verdict
The Lenovo Yoga 7 OLED deal was genuine and unusually compelling at $499.99. Its combination of OLED, touch support, convertible design, 16GB of memory, 512GB storage, and a Ryzen AI processor made it an excellent productivity and media laptop for the price.
But the Best Buy promotion expired in December 2025. Current Yoga 7a OLED models cost considerably more, and a listing that repeats the old $499 headline may refer to clearance, open-box, refurbished, or entirely different hardware. If you find the exact Ryzen AI 5 340 configuration near $500 with acceptable condition, warranty, and returns, it remains worth considering. Otherwise, compare current alternatives on their actual specifications—not on the expired deal’s price.
