The deal was real, but it is historical. On November 20, 2024, Woot offered a new, international-model Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ with 64GB of storage, 4GB of RAM and Wi-Fi for $134.99. That was $85 below the cited $219.99 reference price, or roughly 39% off.
It was an unusually strong price for a large Android tablet, but “greatest deal to date” was PhoneArena’s editorial characterization—not a comprehensively verified, industry-wide all-time-low record. The international model and retailer warranty were the important trade-offs, and the offer is no longer a current buying opportunity.

The tablet used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 processor and included an 11-inch TFT LCD with a 1920×1200 resolution and refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Other listed specifications included a 7,040mAh battery, 8MP rear and 5MP front cameras, quad speakers and 15W charging capability. PhoneArena reported the original offer and specifications.

Why buying before Black Friday made sense
Woot’s price appeared one day before Amazon’s 2024 Black Friday Week began. The timing created a familiar shopping decision: lock in a compelling price or wait for a potentially better promotion.

In the same coverage, Amazon’s U.S. version was listed at $149.99, also reduced from $219.99. The Woot deal was therefore $15 cheaper, although the two listings were not identical from a buyer-protection standpoint.
Waiting for Black Friday is not automatically the better financial choice. An early deal can be sensible when:
- the price is already well below the product’s usual sale range;
- the exact storage, RAM and connectivity configuration suits your needs;
- the retailer has limited inventory;
- you value a confirmed purchase more than the possibility of saving another $5 to $20.
Woot’s advertised December 3 end date was not a guarantee that stock would last. For a shopper who specifically wanted a large Samsung tablet for streaming or family use, $134.99 was low enough to make the inventory risk meaningful.
The international-model catch mattered
The extra savings did not come without a qualification: this was an international Wi-Fi model, not simply the same U.S. retail configuration at a lower price.
PhoneArena said the Wi-Fi tablet should work in the United States. That statement primarily addresses connecting to U.S. Wi-Fi networks. It should not be treated as a guarantee of identical firmware, regional settings, accessories, Samsung support or warranty service.
Before buying an international unit, check:
- who actually provides the warranty and how returns are handled;
- whether Samsung will service that regional model in the United States;
- which charger and plug standard are included;
- whether the software and preinstalled apps match the U.S. version;
- whether the listing is Wi-Fi-only or includes cellular hardware.
Because this deal was Wi-Fi-only, it did not provide mobile-network connectivity away from a hotspot or known Wi-Fi network. Cellular compatibility is a separate question and should never be inferred from the fact that a Wi-Fi model works in the U.S.

What $134.99 bought
The Galaxy Tab A9+ was designed as an affordable everyday tablet rather than a flagship computer. Its 11-inch screen gave streaming, web pages and split-screen apps more room than a phone, while the up-to-90Hz refresh rate could make supported scrolling and animations appear smoother.

Those features make the tablet particularly suitable for households already using Galaxy devices. Samsung’s product page has the feature and storage details.
The Snapdragon 695 was appropriate for browsing, video playback, social media, video calls and casual games. The 7,040mAh battery was large for this class, although battery life varies with brightness, applications, network use and settings. The deal’s 15W charging specification also set expectations: this was not a tablet aimed at exceptionally fast top-ups.
Is 64GB and 4GB of RAM enough?
It can be enough for basic use, but it is the compromise at the heart of the deal. The operating system and preinstalled content occupy part of the advertised storage, so usable space is lower than 64GB. Games, downloaded shows, photos and multiple family profiles can fill it quickly.
Samsung supports microSD expansion of up to 1TB, with the card sold separately. That helps with photos, videos and other files, but expandable storage does not turn the tablet into the 8GB/128GB model. Internal storage and RAM remain important for app installation, loading and multitasking. Samsung also notes that existing content uses part of the tablet’s storage. The 4GB RAM version is best treated as an entry-level configuration. For a child’s streaming tablet, reading device or occasional-use family screen, it may be adequate. For years of heavier multitasking, the 8GB/128GB version is the more comfortable choice if its price difference is reasonable.

Later TechRadar coverage specifically recommended considering the 8GB/128GB model for smoother long-term use, while noting that the 64GB version could be substantially cheaper.
Who should have bought it?
Good fit: a new, verified 64GB/4GB Wi-Fi model around $135, provided you accept international stock and retailer-backed warranty terms.
Consider the U.S. version: if paying about $150 is worthwhile for clearer regional support and warranty expectations.

Streamers and web users
The large 11-inch display, quad speakers and expandable storage made it a strong budget option for Netflix-style streaming, browsing, reading and video calls.
Families and children
Samsung Kids and the lower purchase price made it practical as a shared household or children’s tablet. Add the cost of a protective case and screen protection when calculating the real purchase price; neither should be assumed to have been included.

Students and light-productivity users
Split-screen multitasking, note-taking and cloud-based documents were reasonable use cases. It could serve as a light productivity companion, but the 4GB model was not a substitute for a laptop used for sustained work.

Casual gamers
The Snapdragon 695 could handle casual gaming, but buyers seeking flagship gaming performance should look elsewhere. Demanding games may require reduced settings, and limited RAM leaves less headroom for switching among several demanding apps.
Galaxy-device owners
Quick Share, Smart View and other Samsung ecosystem features added value for people already using compatible Galaxy phones or accessories. Those benefits are less important if you do not use Samsung’s ecosystem.
Who should skip the deal?
- Heavy gamers: choose a faster tablet if demanding games are the priority.
- Creative professionals: the TFT display, entry-level RAM and lack of included S Pen functionality make it a poor fit for professional illustration or intensive editing.
- Cellular users: this was a Wi-Fi-only offer.
- Laptop replacement shoppers: it was suitable for light tasks, not sustained desktop-class productivity.
- Longevity-focused buyers: 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage provide more breathing room than this configuration.
- Warranty-sensitive buyers: the international model may create more uncertainty than a U.S. model, even if the tablet connects normally to U.S. Wi-Fi.
Was it really the greatest deal ever?
The careful answer is: it was an extraordinary contemporaneous deal, but the absolute claim is not independently proven. PhoneArena described the tablet as cheaper than ever before at the time. That supports saying it was the lowest price that publication had seen, or that it was unusually cheap for the listed new configuration.
It does not establish an all-retailer, all-time record covering refurbished and open-box units, bundles, flash sales, international listings and every retailer’s historical pricing. The $219.99 figure was also a reference price, not proof that shoppers commonly paid that amount immediately before the promotion.
Later deals show why the headline needs qualification without making the 2024 reporting wrong. TechRadar reported the 64GB model at $149 from Amazon on November 28, 2025, and at $139.99 on December 23, 2025:

Those later prices beat the 2024 Amazon U.S.-model comparison and came close to, or exceeded, the Woot price depending on the exact configuration and listing terms. They demonstrate that $134.99 was exceptional—not that it remained the permanent lowest possible price.
How to evaluate a similar deal today
The original Woot offer is not current. As of the research snapshot dated August 16, 2026, Best Buy’s product pages for the 64GB, 128GB and 256GB Wi-Fi models indicated that those specific listings were no longer available new: 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Samsung’s U.S. page displayed “from $129.99 with eligible trade-in” and up to $90 in trade-in credit. That is not a $129.99 no-strings-attached cash price. Treat “from” pricing, trade-in credits and ordinary sale prices as separate numbers. Check Samsung’s current terms before relying on the offer.

- Verify Wi-Fi versus 5G and 64GB versus 128GB or 256GB.
- Check RAM: 4GB and 8GB versions are materially different for multitasking.
- Identify whether the unit is U.S. or international stock.
- Read the warranty issuer, return period and seller name.
- Confirm what charger and plug are included.
- Budget for a case, screen protector, microSD card and possibly a charger.
- Compare the complete delivered cost, not just the headline price.
Charging and accessory costs
The tablet can charge at the rate stated in the deal listing, but Samsung says fast charging requires a 45W wall charger sold separately. Check your existing USB-C charger before buying another one, and do not assume that a charger or case was included in the Woot offer. Samsung’s accessory areas are available for tablet accessories and chargers.
A microSD card can make 64GB more practical for media and children’s content, but it cannot compensate for the 4GB RAM limit. Likewise, a Book Cover or protective case improves usability and durability but increases the total cost of ownership.
Verdict
PhoneArena’s central advice was sensible for the right buyer: $134.99 was an outstanding price for a new Galaxy Tab A9+ 64GB/4GB Wi-Fi tablet in November 2024, especially for someone comfortable with an international model and limited inventory.
But the deal was not a universal bargain for everyone. The U.S. model’s clearer support, the 8GB/128GB version’s better long-term headroom and the buyer’s need for cellular connectivity or professional performance could easily justify paying more. And because later promotions reached $139.99, “greatest deal to date” is best understood as a strong publication-level claim at that moment—not a permanently verified all-time record.
