This was a strong Quest 3 bundle, not a major headset discount—and it is a historical Cyber Monday 2025 offer, not a verified live deal. Costco’s Meta Quest 3 512GB bundle was listed at $499.99 with a 12-month Meta Horizon+ trial. That made it appealing to Costco members who wanted the premium headset and would use the subscription; it was less compelling for non-members or shoppers focused on the lowest upfront price. The price was seen on a recent Costco listing, but stock and checkout availability can change.
What Costco’s Cyber Monday bundle included
The offer featured the 512GB Meta Quest 3, two Touch Plus controllers, a standard facial interface, wrist straps, a power adapter and charging cable, plus a 12-month Meta Horizon+ trial. Costco’s product listing also showed one-year warranty coverage. The listing was online-only; check the product page and checkout for current availability, delivered price and any member-price conditions.
Tom’s Guide named it its preferred Quest 3 deal on December 1, 2025, comparing selected retailer offers available at that time. Its appeal was the year of subscription access alongside a headset priced around its normal retail level—not a large cut to the Quest 3’s hardware price. The $499.99 figure appeared in a Costco price listing captured more recently, but it is not a guarantee that the bundle can still be bought at that price. Tom’s Guide’s dated comparison and Costco’s bundle listing are useful references; confirm live terms before purchasing.

Tom’s Guide cited Horizon+ at $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year when it published its December 2025 comparison. Using the annual price, the included year represented about $60 in potential subscription value. That is an illustrative retail-value calculation, not cash savings: it matters most if you would otherwise subscribe and expect to use the service. If you would not pay for Horizon+, do not count the full $60 as a discount.

Horizon+ is a recurring gaming subscription associated with a Meta account. It provides access to a changing catalogue and monthly games under the service’s applicable rules. It is not the same as permanently buying every game shown in the catalogue: access can depend on an active subscription, and the selection can change. The game count and titles mentioned in 2025 coverage are a snapshot, not a promise about the current catalogue.
Costco membership changes the calculation
The advertised value is strongest for someone who already has a Costco membership. If you would join only to buy this headset, include the membership cost in your comparison rather than treating the subscription as a standalone saving. Costco’s purchasing rules, prices and delivery costs can depend on the account and destination; verify the final amount at checkout. A lower-priced offer elsewhere may be better once membership expense is included.

For a simple comparison, think of the Costco offer as a $499.99 headset bundle with up to about $60 of subscription value for a buyer who genuinely wants Horizon+. It is not equivalent to a $60 cash rebate, and the effective value to a non-subscriber may be much lower.

The Quest 3S is not simply a bad Quest 3. It can be the smarter buy if you are testing VR, buying for occasional family use or trying to limit upfront spending. The Quest 3 makes more sense if you expect to play often, value lens clarity and want the 512GB capacity. Compare like with like: model, storage, subscription duration and any other bundle bonus all affect the apparent price.

Retail prices, stock and bonuses change quickly. Before choosing, check that every listing is for the same Quest model and storage capacity, confirm the seller, and compare the total after shipping, taxes and any membership expense. A retailer’s return and pickup convenience may matter more to you than a subscription bonus.

Before activating the Horizon+ trial
- Check eligibility. Costco’s listing says the trial is for users aged 13 or older and that eligibility terms apply. Prior subscription or promotion use could affect eligibility; confirm the terms for your Meta account.
- Follow the included redemption or setup instructions. The listing associates activation with device setup and a Meta login. Confirm whether the trial activates automatically or needs a separate redemption step, and keep any confirmation.
- Note the start and renewal dates. The trial has auto-renewal terms. If you do not want a paid subscription afterward, review the applicable cancellation instructions and set a reminder well before renewal. Do not assume a specific cancellation deadline without checking the terms shown to your account.
- Check warranty and returns before ordering. Costco’s product page showed a one-year warranty, but return terms can vary by product and policy. Read the current policy and listing rather than assuming a general return rule applies.
So, was it the best deal?
As a Cyber Monday 2025 pick among the offers Tom’s Guide considered, Costco’s bundle was persuasive for an existing member who wanted a Quest 3 and would make good use of a year of Horizon+. The headset was not heavily discounted; the extra value came mainly from the subscription. For a casual first-time buyer, a discounted Quest 3S could be better value. For a non-member, a cheaper competing offer—or buying without paying for a membership—could win.
As of August 2026, this should be treated as a historical promotion unless Costco has revived the exact bundle and checkout confirms it is available. An indexed product page alone does not prove that stock or the advertised terms are live.
