Short answer: TELUS appears to have offered a free PlayStation 5 as a gift with an Internet-and-Optik-TV bundle, but the public information does not confirm a nationwide offer or provide a reliable province-by-province eligibility list. Availability is determined by your service address, and the exact PS5 model, qualifying package, expiry date, inventory, and cancellation conditions must be confirmed in writing before you sign up.
What TELUS’ official page confirms
TELUS has a bundle-builder URL containing the campaign identifier playstation-5-gwp. “GWP” generally means “gift with purchase,” and the URL is configured for an Internet-and-Optik-TV bundle.
That is meaningful evidence that a PS5 promotion exists or existed in TELUS’ commerce system. It is not, by itself, proof that every visitor can claim the offer today. The publicly indexed builder currently shows “No gift selected” and does not reveal the console model, expiry date, inventory limit, qualifying provinces, or complete plan terms.

The safest conclusion, based on the official material reviewed on August 18, 2026, is that the promotion appears genuine but must be treated as an address-specific offer. It may have changed, expired, or become unavailable since then.

Which provinces qualify?
TELUS does not appear to publish a dependable province-by-province list for this specific PS5 campaign. Its general deals page says that offers and service availability vary by location and that final eligibility is determined after checking an address.
There are two separate questions:
- Does TELUS market the promotion in your province?
- Can TELUS provide the qualifying Internet and Optik TV services at your exact address?
A household can be in a province where TELUS advertises a bundle and still fail the address check because of network infrastructure, TV availability, customer status, or the campaign’s local rules. Two homes in the same city may receive different offers.
Do not rely on a province list copied from another TELUS promotion. Related TELUS campaigns may cover different regions, dates, plans, and customer groups.
What “free PS5” may mean
In a bundle promotion, “free” usually means no separate console purchase price after the customer meets the required service conditions. It does not mean the customer receives a PS5 without taking on a service commitment.

Before accepting the offer, ask TELUS to confirm all of the following:
- Whether the console is new or refurbished.
- Whether it is the disc or Digital Edition.
- Which accessories, controller, stand, game, and warranty are included.
- Whether taxes on the console apply.
- Whether the PS5 is shipped, delivered, or collected.
- Whether fulfillment occurs before installation, after activation, or after a waiting period.
- Whether inventory is limited or allocated on a first-come basis.
- Whether early cancellation triggers repayment or a clawback of the gift.
None of these PS5-specific details was visible in the public page reviewed. Treat them as unverified until they appear in the promotion terms or your written order confirmation.
What service package may be required?
The campaign URL preselects 300 Mbps Internet and Optik TV Core plus one premium package. That may be a campaign default, an example, or an older URL state; it should not be assumed to be the universal qualifying package.
Confirm whether eligibility requires:
- A minimum Internet speed or PureFibre service.
- Optik TV rather than an Internet-only or streaming-only TV product.
- A particular TV package, premium channel pack, or add-on.
- A 24-month Internet commitment.
- A matching 24-month TV commitment.
- New activation rather than an upgrade or renewal.
- No recent TELUS Internet or Optik TV subscription.
- TELUS Mobility, Koodo, or pre-authorized payments.
Related TELUS promotions commonly restrict eligibility to new residential customers or people who have not had qualifying TELUS services within the previous 90 days. They also commonly use 24-month terms. Those conditions are not automatically proven for the PS5 campaign, so get the campaign-specific rules.

Calculate the real cost before signing
The PS5 should be treated as a bonus, not as a reason to ignore the cost of the required service. Compare the full commitment rather than the advertised monthly headline.
Use this calculation:
24-month bundle cost + taxes + installation and equipment charges + add-ons − confirmed discounts
Then compare it with:
24-month cost of the best suitable Internet/TV alternative + the cost of buying a PS5 separately

- Unlimited-data charges, especially if data is included only temporarily.
- Premium channels and TV add-ons.
- Taxes.
- Conditional discounts for mobility services or pre-authorized payments.
- Potential early-cancellation fees.
- Any PS5 shipping, tax, or fulfillment charge.
Related TELUS pages show that a price guarantee may cover the base Internet and TV rate plans while allowing changes to add-ons, premium content, or certain data options. Related offers also show potential cancellation fees during a 24-month term. Do not apply those figures to the PS5 offer unless they appear in its own agreement.

For comparison, check TELUS Internet-only plans. If you do not want TV, paying for a bundle for 24 months may cost more than buying a console independently.
How to verify the offer
- Open the TELUS bundle builder.
- Enter your complete service address, including unit number where applicable.
- Select the Internet and Optik TV options you actually need.
- Check whether the PS5 appears as an available gift at checkout.
- Record the displayed monthly price, term, discounts, expiry date, package, and fees.
- Ask TELUS to identify the exact PS5 model and included accessories.
- Ask when and how the console will be fulfilled.
- Request the full service agreement and PS5 promotion terms.
- Confirm that the gift appears in the order confirmation or promotional disclosure.
- Save screenshots, emails, chat transcripts, and the agent’s name or interaction number.
If the checkout page says “No gift selected,” do not assume the URL parameter guarantees a console. The offer may be address-gated, unavailable, inventory-exhausted, expired, or simply not rendered in the indexed page.

Cancellation can involve more than losing your monthly discount. Depending on the agreement, you could face:

- Loss of promotional credits.
- Equipment-return requirements or unreturned-equipment charges.
- A PS5 repayment or promotional clawback.
- Charges connected with installation or activation.
Related TELUS home-bundle terms show cancellation fees that can decline over a 24-month commitment, but that does not establish the exact fee for this PS5 campaign. Ask specifically what happens if you cancel, move, fail installation, or change to an ineligible address.

Who should consider the bundle?
The deal may be reasonable if TELUS is already the best provider at your address, you genuinely want Optik TV, the monthly price is competitive without assigning an inflated value to the PS5, and you expect to keep the service for the full term. PureFibre may also offer better upload performance than alternatives where it is available.
Who should skip it?
Be cautious if you only want Internet, rent short-term, may move soon, already own a PS5, or are choosing the bundle solely because the console is advertised as free. The offer is also a poor fit if the PS5 is not listed in writing, the address receives a slower service than expected, or the premium TV package costs more than the console is worth to you.
Consumer protection and documentation
The CRTC Internet Code requires providers to clearly explain key contract terms. If the written contract does not match the offer, the Code says customers may be able to cancel within 45 days without paying cancellation fees, subject to the Code’s conditions.
Keep the advertisement, screenshots, written quotes, chat records, order confirmation, and contract. If the PS5 is promised verbally but omitted from the order documents, pause before installation or activation and ask TELUS to correct the paperwork.
Bottom line
TELUS’ official bundle-builder URL provides a credible signal that a PS5 gift-with-purchase campaign exists or existed. But the available public page does not establish that the deal is nationwide, currently active, or available in any particular province. It also does not disclose enough to confirm the console model, qualifying plan, delivery timing, or cancellation treatment.
Check your exact address, calculate the full service cost, and accept the offer only when the PS5 and its conditions appear in written, address-specific terms.
