In a Pacific Northwest technology roundup published August 22, 2024, GeekWire reported leadership changes at Remitly, Zillow Group, Aquagga and Proprio. Vikas Mehta joined Remitly as CFO; Soumya Tulloss joined Zillow as senior vice president of agent sales; Aquagga co-founder Nigel Sharp moved from CEO to advisor as Chris Woodruff became interim president and CEO; and Bryan Humbarger joined Proprio as chief commercial officer. These are announcements from 2024, not confirmation of the executives’ roles in 2026.
Remitly brings in Vikas Mehta as CFO
Vikas Mehta started as Remitly’s CFO during the week of August 19, 2024, replacing Hemanth Munipalli, who had held the role since July 2022 and left for family reasons, according to GeekWire’s report. Mehta had most recently been CFO of Komodo Health. His previous finance experience included leadership roles at Anaplan, Nike, Walmart, Microsoft and PayPal.
Remitly, founded in 2011, provides digital cross-border money transfers. GeekWire reported that it operated in more than 170 countries and had more than 2,700 employees globally at the time. Its second-quarter 2024 results show the scale and growth context for the appointment: revenue was $306.4 million, up 31% year over year; the company had 6.9 million active customers, up 36%, and send volume of $13.2 billion, up 38%. Its net loss narrowed to $12.1 million from $18.9 million a year earlier. Remitly’s then-current 2024 outlook called for revenue of $1.23 billion to $1.25 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $90 million to $100 million. These are historical figures, not current results; see the company’s second-quarter 2024 release.

The appointment put an experienced finance executive in place as a public fintech company expanded its customer base and transaction volume. The reported results predated or coincided with his start, so they should not be read as evidence of his impact.

Zillow adds Soumya Tulloss to lead agent sales
Soumya Tulloss joined Zillow Group as senior vice president of agent sales. Her most recent position was chief revenue officer at Deliverr. Earlier in her career, she held a vice president role at Twilio and worked at PayPal, Deutsche Bank Securities, GoodData and Google, according to the GeekWire announcement.
Zillow executive Jun Choo said the company was organizing its sales teams under Tulloss’s leadership to innovate and invest in its agent community. That remit matters to a real-estate platform that serves both consumers and industry professionals: agent-facing sales can help build relationships with the people who use Zillow’s services in their work. The title is specific to agent sales; it does not make Tulloss the companywide chief revenue officer or top executive for every sales function.
Aquagga founder Nigel Sharp becomes an advisor
Nigel Sharp stepped down as Aquagga’s CEO and became an advisor. Co-founder and chief operations officer Chris Woodruff took over as interim president and CEO while the company searched for a permanent replacement. Sharp described the change as a chance to give back after five rewarding years, so the reported transition should not be read as evidence of a company crisis.

PFAS is a broad group of substances often called “forever chemicals”; they have been used in applications including firefighting foams, carpets, water-repellent clothing and non-stick cookware. Their properties and risks are not identical across every compound. For an environmental-technology startup, the change paired founder continuity—Sharp remained involved as an advisor—with operating leadership under Woodruff during the search for a permanent chief executive.

Proprio hires Bryan Humbarger as chief commercial officer
Bryan Humbarger joined Proprio as chief commercial officer after serving as CEO and co-founder of medical-device startup Ventru, which he co-founded in 2022. His earlier experience included healthcare technology and medical-device companies Eko, AliveCor, HeartFlow and Bioquell, according to GeekWire.
Seattle-based Proprio develops a surgical-navigation platform that displays anatomy in three dimensions in real time to help clinicians navigate procedures. A commercial chief can bring focus to adoption, sales and partnerships as a technology moves toward broader use; the appointment alone does not establish how widely the platform is used or what clinical outcomes it delivers. Proprio had raised $43 million in 2023 after a reported FDA milestone, providing context for its development stage—not a financing announcement tied to Humbarger’s 2024 hiring. GeekWire’s 2023 coverage discusses that funding and milestone.

Four roles, four different company needs
The announcements span fintech, real-estate technology, environmental treatment and medical devices. They also illustrate distinct organizational needs: finance leadership for a growing public company at Remitly; a defined sales remit focused on agents at Zillow; interim continuity through a founder transition at Aquagga; and commercial expertise for Proprio’s surgical-navigation technology. That is a reading of the roles and company contexts, not a claim that the appointments produced particular results.
All four moves are historical announcements from August 2024. The cited reporting establishes what was announced then, but does not verify whether any executive still held the same position in August 2026.
