All roles and backgrounds below reflect the announcements as reported on that date. The source does not establish whether any executive still holds the named position.

Amazon promoted Sarah Rhoads into workplace safety and learning
Her new responsibilities
Amazon promoted Sarah Rhoads from vice president of Amazon Global Air to lead two organizations: Worldwide Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Global Operations Learning and Development (GOLD). She was to report to John Felton, Amazon’s senior vice president of Worldwide Operations. This was an internal promotion, not an external hire.

Rhoads’s previous assignment involved Amazon’s air-cargo network. In 2019 she became vice president of Amazon Global Air, which the report described as operating more than 110 aircraft from more than 70 airports worldwide at the time. Before joining Amazon, she spent 11 years in the U.S. Navy; she originally joined Amazon as an operations manager.
Felton presented that aviation and military experience as relevant to a broader operational safety remit. That is his stated rationale for the appointment, rather than an independent assessment of her suitability.

Who took over Amazon Air work?
Raoul Sreenivasan, then director of Amazon Global Air, was expected to assume most of Rhoads’s Amazon Air responsibilities. The wording matters: the announcement did not say he became an unequivocal full replacement for every part of her former job.

The safety context
The announcement came amid regulatory scrutiny of Amazon’s workplace-safety conditions. Amazon reported that, from 2021 to 2022, its recordable incident rate improved by 11% and its lost-time incident rate declined by 14%. Those are company-reported year-over-year figures; they do not, by themselves, define overall safety performance or prove that Rhoads’s appointment caused an improvement.

Zscaler hired Syam Nair as chief technology officer
Zscaler hired Seattle technology veteran Syam Nair as chief technology officer. Immediately before the appointment, Nair was an executive vice president at Salesforce; the report also said he had spent more than 14 years at Microsoft.

The available announcement identifies his Salesforce title and Microsoft tenure but does not specify which Salesforce organization he led, explain the circumstances of his departure or define a detailed mandate at Zscaler. It is therefore more precise to describe this as a cross-company CTO appointment than to infer a particular product or strategy agenda.

Graham & Walker promoted Divya Kakkad to partner. She joined the firm in 2019, when it was previously known as Female Founders Alliance. Before that, she was a senior brand manager at Starbucks. This was a promotion, not a new-hire announcement.
Poplar Homes: Scott Breon named president
Poplar Homes named Scott Breon president. The report identified him as a former Vacasa executive but supplied no additional biography or detailed description of his mandate.
