TeamBridge is a workforce-management software company built for hourly, distributed, and contingent teams. On September 16, 2024, it announced a $28 million Series B led by Mayfield, with participation from existing investors General Catalyst and Abstract Ventures. The company said it would use the funding for product development, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, client services, and hiring.

The financing is historical, not a 2026 fundraise. What has changed since the announcement is TeamBridge’s positioning: its website now presents the product as an AI-native platform spanning scheduling, onboarding, compliance, time tracking, payroll-related workflows, communications, billing, and instant pay.

What TeamBridge raised—and what the money is for

TeamBridge announced its $28 million Series B on September 16, 2024. Mayfield led the round, while General Catalyst and Abstract Ventures participated as existing investors. TechCrunch reported that the financing brought TeamBridge’s total funding to $41.5 million.

TeamBridge said the capital would support:

  • Product research and development.
  • An expanded artificial-intelligence roadmap.
  • Enterprise-grade infrastructure.
  • Client services.
  • Hiring and team expansion.

At the time of the announcement, TechCrunch reported that TeamBridge had 42 employees and planned to roughly double the team over the following year. The round was therefore about more than adding features: it was intended to help the company build the infrastructure and customer-support capacity needed for a broader workforce platform.

TechCrunch’s funding report is available at TechCrunch. Mayfield also described its investment in its investment announcement.

Who founded TeamBridge?

TeamBridge was founded by Arjun Vora and Tito Goldstein, former Uber product and design leaders. Vora previously led driver-side design at Uber and also worked at Salesforce. Goldstein led design for Uber for Business.

“Former Uber execs” is a convenient description, but it is broader than the available biographies support. The founders were product and design leaders—not former Uber chief executives or corporate presidents.

Their Uber experience shaped the company’s starting point. They had worked on systems serving large, geographically distributed frontline populations and saw that conventional HR software was often designed around office employees, corporate email, and relatively stable work patterns.

According to the 2024 coverage, the founders interviewed hundreds of Uber drivers before building TeamBridge. The practical needs they identified were straightforward but often poorly handled by existing systems: clocking in, viewing shifts, changing payment details, signing documents, communicating with managers, and managing availability from a phone.

TeamBridge’s target market is broader than gig work. Its potential users include conventional hourly employees, staffing workers, healthcare and homecare personnel, hospitality staff, warehouse workers, event employees, facilities teams, and other distributed workforces.

What TeamBridge actually sells

The original product was described as a configurable workforce-management platform with a worker-facing mobile experience and an administrative back end. Its early capabilities included:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Employee onboarding.
  • Time-off tracking.
  • Scheduling.
  • Shift viewing and claiming.
  • Worker communications.
  • Legal-document signing.
  • Custom employee self-service apps.
  • Configurable administrative workflows.
  • Templates and automation recipes.

TeamBridge’s current platform pages describe a broader product that also emphasizes:

  • Applicant tracking.
  • Credential and compliance management.
  • Time tracking.
  • Payroll-related workflows.
  • Billing and invoicing.
  • Earned-wage access or instant pay.
  • AI agents, sometimes described as “specialists,” that can act on workforce records and operational rules.

The company lists integrations and connections involving systems such as ADP, QuickBooks, Workday, Salesforce, Zapier, Make, and Branch. A listing does not necessarily mean that every integration supports every workflow or pricing tier, so buyers should confirm the exact scope during evaluation. TeamBridge’s integrations page provides the current public list.

Why hourly-workforce software is difficult

Hourly operations generate a different set of problems from a conventional office workforce. A company may need to manage:

  • Last-minute call-outs and uncovered shifts.
  • Changing worker availability.
  • Multiple locations, roles, clients, or work sites.
  • Credential and license expiration.
  • Overtime, union, meal-break, and location-specific rules.
  • High-volume onboarding and frequent turnover.
  • Workers who rarely use corporate email or sit at a desk.
  • Connections between scheduling, timekeeping, payroll, compliance, and billing.

For example, replacing a worker who calls out may require more than finding someone who is available. The replacement might need the right credential, the correct role, permission to work at that location, sufficient rest time, and compliance with overtime or union rules. If the business is a staffing agency, the shift may also need to connect to a client assignment, timesheet, invoice, and billing rule.

TeamBridge’s central thesis is that these operational relationships should be handled in a workforce system designed around frontline work rather than added awkwardly to an office-oriented HR system. That is the company’s positioning, not independent proof that it outperforms every incumbent.

What “composable” means in practice

TeamBridge has described its platform as “composable.” In buyer terms, that means an organization can configure workflows around its own locations, policies, roles, eligibility rules, approvals, and employee experience instead of following one fixed sequence.

An employer might build an onboarding process that:

  1. Collects employment forms.
  2. Assigns required training.
  3. Verifies credentials.
  4. Checks eligibility for particular locations or roles.
  5. Changes system access after the worker completes the requirements.

A staffing company might connect candidate records, assignments, credentials, timesheets, client communications, billing rules, and invoices in a single operational flow.

That flexibility is potentially valuable where a standard scheduling product cannot represent the business’s rules. It also creates a trade-off. As an analytical matter, configurable systems can require more implementation work, policy definition, testing, governance, and internal ownership than simpler out-of-the-box products. A buyer should ask how much configuration TeamBridge performs, how much the customer must maintain, and what happens when policies change.

Traction claims need careful reading

Public reporting contains several different measures of TeamBridge’s scale:

Source Claim How to interpret it
TechCrunch More than 100,000 hourly workers A historical figure reported around the September 2024 financing.
Mayfield More than 100,000 hourly workers An investor-reported figure, also tied to the financing period.
Business Wire More than 300,000 employees A separate company-announcement claim that does not reconcile publicly with the 100,000-worker figures.

These numbers should not be merged into a single definitive customer count. The difference could reflect different measurement dates, definitions, customer populations, or reporting methods. It could also distinguish workers on the platform from employees supported by a customer organization. The available sources do not resolve the discrepancy.

The reported growth figures also come from company or investor statements rather than audited financial disclosures. TechCrunch reported that revenue grew threefold in the prior year and more than doubled again in the first half of 2024. Mayfield described revenue growth of four times in 2023 and more than a doubling through the first half of 2024. Those claims suggest momentum, but they should be treated as attributed growth statements rather than independently verified financial results.

Business Wire quoted Revv Staffing claiming a 60% reduction in administrative time after going live. TeamBridge’s current marketing materials also publish customer-story figures such as a 45% increase in retention, $2.4 million in annual labor savings, and three-times-faster event staffing. These are useful examples of the outcomes the company says it can support, but they are customer or company-published claims, not independent benchmarks.

How TeamBridge’s positioning has evolved

The 2024 financing coverage largely presented TeamBridge as HR software for hourly workers. By August 18, 2026, its website described the product more broadly as an AI-native workforce-management platform.

That evolution matters. The company is no longer presenting only a mobile way to manage onboarding, schedules, documents, and employee communications. Its current positioning reaches into:

  • Coverage and schedule management.
  • Credential and compliance workflows.
  • Payroll coordination.
  • Billing and invoicing.
  • Worker communications.
  • Instant-pay access.
  • AI-assisted actions on workforce data.

Terms such as “AI-native,” “operating system,” “the #1 AI platform,” and “only AI-native” are marketing or investor positioning, not independently established market rankings. The practical question is whether the AI features can complete useful tasks inside defined permissions while producing reliable logs, approvals, and escalation paths.

AI creates both leverage and risk

An AI agent that drafts a message or summarizes a schedule is lower risk than one that assigns a worker, changes a pay-related record, or applies a compliance rule. Workforce decisions can affect wages, legal obligations, staffing levels, customer commitments, and worker access to shifts.

A serious evaluation should test what happens when an agent:

  • Assigns an ineligible worker to a shift.
  • Overlooks an expired credential.
  • Applies the wrong overtime or location rule.
  • Cannot find a qualified replacement.
  • Receives incomplete or contradictory worker data.

Buyers should look for human approval gates, role-based permissions, action logs, rollback options, exception handling, and clear escalation to a manager. A workflow platform can help enforce policies, but it does not automatically guarantee compliance with federal, state, local, or union requirements.

How TeamBridge compares with alternatives

TeamBridge sits between several categories of software rather than competing with only one type of product.

Deputy

Deputy is an established workforce-management product focused on scheduling, time tracking, attendance, and labor management. It may be a better fit for a buyer seeking a more standardized deployment. TeamBridge may be more relevant where staffing, credentialing, billing, or unusual operational workflows are central.

Homebase

Homebase is oriented toward small businesses and hourly teams, with capabilities including scheduling, time clocks, team communication, hiring, and payroll-related services. It may be simpler for restaurants, retail businesses, and small local operators. A complex multi-client staffing or compliance operation may need more configurable orchestration.

UKG

UKG, including the workforce-management products historically associated with Kronos, serves larger organizations seeking mature scheduling, time, payroll, HR, and compliance capabilities. UKG may offer greater enterprise breadth, while TeamBridge’s appeal is a more composable and potentially more mobile-first operating model. Cost, implementation burden, and exact requirements vary substantially.

Wingspan

Wingspan focuses on independent contractors and contingent-worker administration, including payments. It may be more directly relevant when contractor management is the main problem. It is not necessarily a replacement for TeamBridge’s broader scheduling, employee self-service, compliance, staffing, and workforce-operations workflows.

An existing HRIS and payroll stack

The real alternative may be the buyer’s current combination of HRIS, payroll provider, applicant-tracking system, scheduling tool, time clock, messaging service, billing platform, and earned-wage-access provider. TeamBridge’s value is strongest when consolidating those workflows or connecting their data produces more benefit than the cost and risk of migration.

Public pricing and total cost

As shown on TeamBridge’s public pricing page on August 18, 2026, the plans were:

  • Starter: Free.
  • Growth: $7 per user.
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing.

The public page does not, by itself, answer every commercial question. Before comparing the number with another vendor’s quote, confirm whether “user” means an active worker, all workers, administrators, or another billing unit. Also ask about implementation, data migration, payroll services, integrations, premium support, usage-based charges, and treatment of seasonal, inactive, or temporary workers. See TeamBridge’s pricing page.

TeamBridge’s instant-pay page says the service has zero cost to employers, with standard ACH transfers taking one to two business days and instant transfers arriving within minutes. Fees may apply to workers using instant transfers, and eligibility, employer configuration, and financial-product disclosures require review. Instant Pay is described by TeamBridge as earned-wage access rather than a loan, but buyers should still examine the terms and regulatory disclosures at the product page.

Who should consider a TeamBridge demo?

TeamBridge is most relevant to an organization with several of these characteristics:

  • A large hourly, temporary, or contingent workforce.
  • Frequent scheduling changes, call-outs, or coverage problems.
  • Multiple locations, clients, roles, or labor rules.
  • Manual onboarding, credentialing, or document workflows.
  • Workers who need mobile self-service.
  • Data split among payroll, HRIS, ATS, scheduling, compliance, and billing systems.
  • A willingness to define policies and maintain configurable workflows.

It may be a poor fit for a small office-based company, a buyer seeking only payroll or benefits administration, or an organization that wants a fixed, low-configuration scheduling tool. It may also be unsuitable if a required payroll, union, geographic, or compliance integration is unavailable in the buyer’s edition.

Questions to ask before buying

  1. Can you demonstrate a last-minute call-out and replacement workflow?
  2. Can eligibility checks incorporate location, credentials, overtime, union rules, and availability?
  3. How does a worker claim a shift through the mobile app?
  4. How do approved timesheets reach the payroll system?
  5. How does staffing data become a client invoice?
  6. What does an AI agent do when it cannot complete a task?
  7. Which AI actions require human approval, and what audit trail is retained?
  8. What are the data-export, retention, and deletion procedures?
  9. How are permissions separated among workers, managers, clients, and staffing agencies?
  10. What implementation work is required from the customer?
  11. Which integrations and features are restricted by plan?
  12. How are seasonal, inactive, temporary, and agency workers billed?
  13. How are state wage rules, meal and rest breaks, overtime, and union policies handled?
  14. What service-level commitments and security documentation are available?

TeamBridge displays SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA-compliant claims on its website. Procurement teams should verify the audit period, scope, covered services, data-processing terms, and whether HIPAA support applies to the buyer’s intended configuration rather than treating the badges as a complete compliance assessment.

The bottom line for buyers and investors

TeamBridge’s investment case is clear: hourly and contingent workforces generate operational problems that ordinary office-oriented HR systems may not handle well, and a configurable mobile platform could connect scheduling, onboarding, compliance, communications, time, payroll coordination, and billing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The $28 million Series B gives the company capital to pursue that thesis, but the financing itself does not prove product superiority. The important open questions are whether TeamBridge can deliver repeatable implementations, maintain reliable integrations, convert AI features into measurable labor savings without increasing compliance risk, and serve very different sectors without becoming too generic.

For a staffing agency, event operator, healthcare organization, hospitality group, warehouse, facilities company, or other multi-site hourly employer, TeamBridge is credible enough to merit a structured demo and diligence process. It should be compared with both simpler scheduling tools and heavier enterprise HCM suites. The decision should rest on demonstrated workflows, references, security documentation, integration depth, implementation effort, and total cost—not on AI language or a public starting price alone.
