TapeZoomie is a compact, blade-free dispenser that holds two tape rolls and prepares up to 18 strips before you start wrapping. Inge Heath, a mother of three from Kallaroo, Western Australia, developed it after tiring of cutting strips individually and sticking them to a table while her husband wrapped presents. A demonstration video posted in late October 2024 drew about 500,000 views overnight and was later reported at more than six million views, although the available coverage is unclear about how much of that total was TikTok versus Instagram.
What TapeZoomie does
Unlike a conventional dispenser that gives you one piece at a time, TapeZoomie is designed for batch preparation. You load two rolls, extend the mechanism, pull tape across its internal bars and prepare several lengths. During wrapping, you can remove a strip with one hand while the other holds paper in place.
The manufacturer states a maximum of 18 prepared strips. That is a capacity claim, not a measured guarantee that every user or gift will be wrapped faster.
How the idea started
Heath’s family-origin story says the idea followed a move to a new country in 2019 and an unusually large Christmas wrapping session. She searched for a tool that would solve the problem but did not find a suitable option, so she developed a prototype and turned the household workaround into a product. PerthNow describes her as a Kallaroo mother and reports the same frustration with cutting and parking individual strips on furniture.

Her company’s background is available on the TapeZoomie About page. The site uses “patent pending” language; that should not be upgraded to “patented” without a verified patent record.
How to load and use it
- Remove the spools and place a tape roll on each core.
- Pull the end of the first roll to the first bar and attach it as directed by the manufacturer.
- Repeat the threading process for the second roll.
- Extend the dispenser fully.
- Pull tape across the bars to create the lengths you need, then remove strips as you wrap.
The official loading guidance is in the TapeZoomie FAQ. Strip length depends on how far you pull the tape, so “18 strips” does not mean 18 identical pieces for every package.

What tape fits
The FAQ specifies 20 mm tape cores and says adhesive tape is not included. Check the roll’s core, width and thickness before buying. The manufacturer later mentions standard, washi, double-sided and magnetic tape, but those broader compatibility claims have not been independently tested here. Very thick, unusually wide, brittle or highly adhesive rolls may feed poorly even if their core appears suitable.
Why the video went viral
Heath had never used TikTok before making the demonstration. PerthNow reported that she went to bed after posting it and woke to roughly 500,000 views. Demand arrived before the product was fully ready, prompting her to contact or visit the manufacturer to assess production and prepare stock for Christmas. The product was reportedly available online about two weeks before PerthNow’s December 12, 2024 article.
The article’s wording is internally inconsistent: it describes nearly seven million TikTok views, refers to 6.6 million views, and separately mentions almost 50,000 Instagram likes. Therefore, the defensible statement is that launch coverage reported more than six million views, not that a currently verifiable TikTok counter definitively shows 6.6 million. Safety and cleaning
TapeZoomie is marketed as blade-free, removing the exposed cutting edge found on many dispensers. That does not make it universally child-safe: small parts, tape, pinching points and the extending mechanism still warrant supervision. The FAQ specifically advises an adult to prepare the 18 strips before children use the ready-made lengths.

For cleaning, the manufacturer says to extend the dispenser, gently pull the bars upward through their grooves, wipe parts with lukewarm soapy water and avoid harsh chemicals. It should not go in a dishwasher. If tape will not feed, remove both rolls, confirm the 20 mm core, re-thread one roll at a time, attach the tape to the first bar, extend the mechanism fully and clean residue. These diagnostic steps are practical guidance rather than a complete manufacturer troubleshooting chart.

The official site is the safest starting point: tapezoomie.com. Its FAQ, accessed in August 2026, lists availability in Australia and the United States. A December 2024 news report also mentioned the UK, but that is historical information and should not be treated as current availability.

Company-reported growth claims
In a December 2025 Authority Magazine interview, Heath or the company said the brand had expanded internationally, sold in 13 countries and passed 30 million social-media views. Buying checklist
- Confirm the seller is TapeZoomie or a clearly identified authorised retailer.
- Check that your rolls meet the stated 20 mm core requirement and fit the dispenser’s width and thickness limits.
- Confirm that adhesive tape is sold separately.
- Check shipping, tax, delivery times and return terms for your country.
- Be cautious of unbranded listings using TapeZoomie-style descriptions.
The Bottom Line
TapeZoomie is a focused solution for people who prepare many gifts, crafts or tape strips at once. Its value comes from the batch workflow, not from the viral view count. If you wrap only occasionally, scissors or a standard dispenser will probably be cheaper and adequate; if you regularly need a ready supply of strips, confirm tape fit and seller authenticity before buying.
