For the most features, T-Mobile Experience Beyond is the best overall plan; for most households, Experience More is the better balance of benefits and cost. Essentials is the lower-priced postpaid option, while T-Mobile Prepaid Unlimited Plus is worth comparing if you bring your own phone and want prepaid billing. The right choice depends on your total bill, hotspot use, travel, upgrade habits, and eligibility for discounts—not just the word “unlimited.” Prices and offers below reflect T-Mobile information available in August 2026; confirm your exact price and terms at checkout.

Quick comparison

T-Mobile’s advertised postpaid prices below exclude taxes and fees and may also depend on AutoPay or other discounts. Experience More’s example prices are for the First Responder version shown by T-Mobile; other eligibility categories and standard pricing may differ.

Plan Advertised monthly price Data and hotspot Upgrade and notable benefits Best for
Experience Beyond $105 for one line; $180 for two; $230 for three; $280 for four; $330 for five Unlimited premium on-device data; 250GB high-speed hotspot, then up to 600kbps Annual upgrade option, Netflix Standard with ads, Hulu, T-Satellite, broad international data benefits Frequent upgraders, heavy hotspot users, travelers, or households using several included benefits
Experience More First Responder version shown at $75/$110/$135/$160/$185 for one through five lines Unlimited premium on-device data; 60GB high-speed hotspot Upgrade every two years, Netflix Standard with ads, Apple TV benefit, Canada/Mexico data Households seeking premium data and useful perks without Beyond’s top-tier price
Essentials $65 for one line; $100 for two; $120 for three; $140 for four; $160 for five Unlimited on-device data, with 50GB premium data; fewer hotspot benefits Fewer entertainment, travel, and upgrade extras Customers prioritizing a lower standard postpaid price
Prepaid Unlimited Plus Monthly $60/month with AutoPay; first month shown at $65, plus taxes and fees Unlimited 5G data, with 50GB premium data; 5GB high-speed hotspot SD streaming, North American talk and text, international texting from the U.S. BYOD customers and people who prefer prepaid billing

“Unlimited” does not mean unlimited high-speed hotspot, unlimited priority data under every plan, or unlimited high-speed data while roaming internationally. Plan features and prices are dynamic; see T-Mobile’s current plan comparison and prepaid plan page for the offer available to you.

Experience Beyond: best overall, but not automatically best value

T-Mobile positions Experience Beyond as its top consumer plan. It is the strongest choice if you will actually use its combination of unlimited premium data, substantial hotspot, frequent phone-upgrade access, entertainment, satellite connectivity, and travel features.

#1 Best Overall
$30/mo. Mint Mobile Phone Plan with Unlimited Talk, Text & Data for 3 Months (3-in-1 SIM Card)
  • WHAT YOU GET: Three (3) months of unlimited talk, text, and data delivered on the nation's largest 5G network. Data speeds may slow after 50GB when network is busy but data is unlimited. Videos stream at 480p.
  • OH, YOU GET THIS TOO: 5G for Free + free mobile hotspot + Wi-Fi calling and text + free international calls to Mexico and Canada
  • HOW YOU GET IT: The SIM Kit comes with a 3-in-1 SIM card that includes standard/micro/nano sizes, insert the SIM into your device, and activate on the Mint Mobile website or app. You can activate service on your own unlocked device with our Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program. Check your coverage and phone compatibility on the Mint Mobile website.
  • WHO SHOULD GET IT: Anyone who hates their phone bill
  • WHY YOU SHOULD GET IT: Mint Mobile took what’s wrong with wireless and made it right. We re-imagined the wireless shopping experience and made it easy and online.
  • Hotspot: 250GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data, then hotspot data continues at up to 600kbps. That is a generous allowance for laptop work and occasional streaming, but it is not unlimited full-speed home internet. Video calls, large downloads, and several connected devices can use data quickly; 600kbps afterward is best treated as a fallback for messaging and very light browsing. See T-Mobile’s Experience Beyond details.
  • Upgrades: The plan offers an annual phone-upgrade option and access to qualifying deals. It is not a free phone every year: device financing, plan and account eligibility, trade-in terms, and continued service may apply.
  • Travel: Published benefits include up to 30GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico and up to 15GB in 215+ international destinations. Check the specific destination and current terms before departure.
  • Entertainment and connectivity: Benefits include Netflix Standard with ads, Hulu, T-Satellite, and up to 4K UHD streaming when activated on a compatible device. The comparison page lists Apple TV for $3 per month under the plan shown.
  • Price guarantee: T-Mobile advertises a five-year guarantee for talk, text, and 5G data pricing, subject to exclusions. Taxes and fees are not covered by that guarantee.

Published standard pricing is $105 for one line and rises to $330 for five, before applicable discounts, taxes, and fees. Beyond makes the most sense for annual upgraders, frequent travelers, or people who need more than Experience More’s 60GB hotspot allowance. A single-line customer who rarely travels, upgrades, or hotspots may pay for benefits they do not use.

Experience More: the better default for many households

Experience More keeps unlimited premium on-device data while scaling back the premium extras: 60GB of high-speed hotspot, phone upgrades every two years, Netflix Standard with ads, an Apple TV benefit, and up to 15GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico. T-Mobile also lists up to 4K UHD streaming when activated on a compatible device and a five-year price guarantee with stated exclusions.

The useful dividing line is 60GB of hotspot and two-year upgrades on More versus 250GB and annual upgrades on Beyond. If your family does not need the extra hotspot or annual upgrade cadence, More can avoid paying for Beyond’s additional capacity. That is a comparison of the published benefits, not a claim that every household will save a specific amount.

Rank #2
$25/mo. Mint Mobile Phone Plan with 23GB of 5G-4G LTE Data + Unlimited Talk & Text for 3 Months (3-in-1 SIM Card)
  • We recently increased high-speed data allotments on every plan (but kept the same low pricing)! You may see a 20GB sticker on the front of your 23GB SIM Kit, rest assured your plan will have all 23GB of data loaded each month.
  • WHAT YOU GET: Three (3) months of unlimited talk and text + 23GB of 5G-4G LTE data each month delivered on the nation's largest 5G network.

T-Mobile’s page showed First Responder pricing of $75 for one line, $110 for two, $135 for three, $160 for four, and $185 for five, before taxes and fees. These are not universal prices: standard, Military, 55+, and First Responder plan variants can differ. Verify eligibility and the exact multi-line price in T-Mobile’s checkout flow.

Essentials: lower-cost postpaid with fewer protections and perks

Essentials is for people who want unlimited on-device talk, text, and data at a lower advertised postpaid price and do not need the Experience plans’ entertainment, travel, or phone-upgrade features. T-Mobile lists $65 for one line, $100 for two, $120 for three, $140 for four, and $160 for five, before discounts, taxes, and fees.

Essentials includes 50GB of premium data. After that threshold, your data may be deprioritized when the network is busy, which can mean slower speeds than customers receiving higher priority in the same area. This is not a fixed monthly speed cap: actual performance depends on congestion, coverage, signal, and device. If you use a lot of data in a crowded area, the lower bill may come with a noticeable trade-off.

Rank #3
$20/mo. Mint Mobile Phone Plan with 17GB of 5G-4G LTE Data + Unlimited Talk & Text for 3 Months (3-in-1 SIM Card)
  • We recently increased high-speed data allotments on every plan (but kept the same low pricing)! You may see a 15GB sticker on the front of your 17GB SIM Kit, rest assured your plan will have all 17GB of data loaded each month.
  • WHAT YOU GET: Three (3) months of unlimited talk and text + 17GB of 5G-4G LTE data each month delivered on the nation's largest 5G network.

Choose Essentials if you rarely use hotspot, do not need premium streaming or international roaming, and are comfortable buying or keeping a phone separately from premium-plan deals. Read the exact plan terms before switching, particularly if your current plan has legacy benefits.

Prepaid Unlimited Plus: a credible BYOD alternative

T-Mobile Prepaid Unlimited Plus is worth a close look for a single-line customer who brings an unlocked phone and prefers prepaid service. T-Mobile lists $60 per month with AutoPay; the first month is shown at $65, plus taxes and fees. It includes unlimited 5G data with 50GB of premium data, 5GB of high-speed hotspot, unlimited talk and text, international texting to 215+ countries from the U.S., and talk and text to and from the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. T-Mobile also lists T-Mobile Tuesdays, Scam Block, and MLB.TV when available.

The compromises are smaller hotspot capacity, SD video streaming, fewer premium international roaming benefits, and less emphasis on flagship-phone promotions. T-Mobile says prepaid Unlimited Plus customers using more than 35GB in a month may notice slower speeds than other customers during congestion. If you want an unlocked-device, straightforward prepaid option, those limits may be acceptable; if you need heavy hotspot or device financing, compare postpaid carefully.

Rank #4
Ultra Mobile 8GB Prepaid SIM Kit, 1-Month Plan on the T-Mobile 5G Network
  • STAY CONNECTED WORLDWIDE: Unlimited calling from the U.S. to 90+ international destinations including India, Mexico, Canada, China, the U.K. and more.
  • RELIABLE NATIONWIDE COVERAGE: Enjoy 8GB of high-speed 5G/4G LTE data on the T-Mobile 5G Network.
  • TRAVEL ACROSS NORTH AMERICA: Unlimited talk and text in Mexico and Canada plus international roaming credit.
  • BRING YOUR OWN PHONE: Activate your compatible unlocked phone with the included 3-in-1 SIM card or eSIM. Keep your number or get a new one.
  • NO CONTRACTS: Prepaid wireless with no annual contracts, no credit checks, and no hidden fees.

Pick by the way you use your phone

  • One line, low usage: Compare Prepaid Unlimited Plus with Essentials and the actual postpaid offers you qualify for. Experience Beyond is hard to justify unless its upgrades, travel, hotspot, or included services have real value to you.
  • Two or more lines: Compare the total account price, not just the per-line impression. Experience More is a strong middle ground; Beyond can become more compelling when multiple people use its travel, hotspot, entertainment, or upgrade benefits.
  • Heavy hotspot use: Beyond has the largest stated allowance in this comparison: 250GB at high speed, then up to 600kbps. More has 60GB and prepaid Unlimited Plus has 5GB. If your household relies on hotspot as a home internet replacement, assess your actual usage and local network performance rather than assuming any phone plan will behave like fixed broadband.
  • International travel: Beyond has the broadest published high-speed roaming allowances among these plans, but data amounts and eligible destinations differ. Confirm your destination, allowance, and any calling costs before travel.
  • Annual phone upgrader: Beyond is the natural starting point, but compare the plan’s extra monthly cost with the actual value of the device promotion and its conditions.
  • 55+, military, or first responder: Check T-Mobile’s eligibility pricing for the plan family and number of lines you need. A qualifying discount can change which plan offers the best value.
  • Existing T-Mobile customer: Look in T-Life and compare your current price and legacy benefits with the new plan, promotion eligibility, and the consequences of switching. Targeted or migration offers may differ from the public page.

Calculate the bill you will actually pay

The advertised plan price is only one part of the bill. For current Experience plan pricing, account for applicable AutoPay or other discounts, government taxes, T-Mobile’s $4.49-per-voice-line Regulatory Programs/Telco Recovery Fee, and federal or local surcharges that T-Mobile says typically range from about $0.36 to $4.79 per line. One-time costs may include a device connection charge of up to $35 per line, plus taxes on a device. Prepaid pricing is also subject to taxes and fees.

There is no reliable universal “price after tax”: taxes and surcharges vary by location, line count, discount eligibility, and account details. Review the final checkout total and bill estimate for your address. The five-year price guarantee does not erase taxes or fees and should not be treated as a guarantee of the entire bill.

Do not value a “free phone” as an unconditional discount

A promotional phone may be paid for through monthly bill credits, and the offer can require a qualifying plan, eligible financing, a new line or port-in, and a trade-in. Credits can end if you cancel before the promotion period is complete; terms can also specify what happens if you pay off financing early or change plans. You may owe sales tax on the device’s pre-credit price and a connection charge.

Tello Mobile - US Prepaid SIM Card (3 in 1) | Bring Your Own Phone Kit | Phone Plans Starting at $5/mo up to $25/mo | Nation-Wide 4G LTE/5G Coverage
  • NO CONTRACT: Pay $5 - $25/month for a fully customizable phone plan - choose your talk, text, and data with no strings attached; upgrade, downgrade or cancel your plan anytime with no penalties
  • UNIVERSAL SIM CARD INCLUDED: The kit contains one three-in-one SIM card (nano, micro, and standard sizes) to fit most unlocked GSM-compatible smartphones
  • NATIONWIDE 5G COVERAGE: Stay connected coast to coast with nationwide coverage on America's largest 5G network
  • INTERNATIONAL CALLS TO 60+ COUNTRIES: All Tello plans include international calling to over 60 countries
  • EASY ACTIVATION: Bring your own phone and activate your SIM on the Tello website; check your phone compatibility and coverage maps before purchasing to confirm service in your area

Before accepting an offer, compare the total plan cost over the required credit period, device taxes and fees, required trade-in value, and the value of benefits you would otherwise buy. Count Netflix, Hulu, or Apple TV at their full retail value only if you would actually pay for them separately. Review the specific T-Mobile offer terms shown at purchase.

Check coverage before moving a household

A more expensive plan does not fix weak service at home, work, or along a regular commute. T-Mobile cites Ookla Speedtest Intelligence data from the second half of 2025 for its “Best Mobile Network” claim, but a national performance claim cannot guarantee coverage or speed at your address. Check the T-Mobile coverage map and, if eligible, test service before porting your main number or an entire family account. T-Mobile offers a 30-day trial to qualifying non-T-Mobile users with a compatible unlocked device; restrictions apply.

Bottom line

Choose Experience Beyond if you will use its annual upgrade option, 250GB hotspot, or broader travel and entertainment features. Choose Experience More if you want premium data and substantial hotspot without paying for Beyond’s maximum allowances; it is the best starting point for many families. Choose Essentials for a lower standard postpaid price if you can accept fewer perks and possible deprioritization after 50GB of premium data. Choose Prepaid Unlimited Plus if prepaid billing and bringing your own phone matter more than large hotspot or premium roaming. In every case, check local coverage and compare the final bill—not just the advertised plan price.
