A May 2025 snapshot of four Seattle-area startups shows how software can target narrow, practical problems: Fritter was consolidating restaurant-inspection data, Gamebeast was building tools for Roblox and other user-generated-content developers, Scowtt was automating lead conversion, and Starter Set was planning an AI-assisted baby-product recommendation service. Their funding and product stages varied widely, and the reporting does not establish their current operating status or whether planned products launched.
This is a roundup, not a ranking of Seattle’s most important or most promising startups. The companies were profiled by GeekWire on May 23, 2025. The descriptions below reflect that dated snapshot; they are not a verified account of what each business offers today.
Four startups, four different stages
| Company | Founded | Product and intended customer | Reported stage in May 2025 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fritter | 2024 | An API consolidating restaurant-inspection information for developers and organizations that use such data | Product availability and customer traction not stated in the source |
| Gamebeast | 2023 | Tools intended to help Roblox and other user-generated-content game developers improve performance | Reported $3.7 million raised and graduation from a16z’s gaming accelerator |
| Scowtt | 2024 | AI-assisted lead qualification, conversion prediction, and prospect follow-up for businesses | Seven-person startup; reported $1 million raised and $1.5 million in first-year annual recurring revenue |
| Starter Set | 2024 | A planned assistant recommending products for parents based on preferences and a baby’s milestones | MVP planned for later in 2025; launch and current availability are unverified |
Company descriptions, founding years, funding, and stated plans in the table are from the May 2025 GeekWire profile. Scowtt’s ARR figure was company-reported, not an audited result.
Fritter: putting restaurant inspection data behind an API
Founded in 2024 by CEO Beatrice Archer, Fritter aimed to combine restaurant food-safety inspection information from multiple sources into one API. Potential users included developers, health officials, business owners, and other organizations that need inspection data. Archer had previously worked at Alaska Airlines, Abound, Microsoft, and Boeing, and built Seattle Safe Eats, a product that surfaced health information about Seattle-area restaurants.

The API approach could spare downstream services from separately connecting to each jurisdiction’s systems. But consolidating records is not the same as making them uniform or authoritative. Inspection schedules, terminology, formats, and update timing can differ by locality; incomplete or amended records can also complicate interpretation. The profile does not specify Fritter’s geographic coverage, data-refresh schedule, source agreements, or whether its API was live. Nor does it describe Fritter as an inspection agency: an aggregated inspection record should not be mistaken for a complete determination of a restaurant’s safety.
Gamebeast: developer tools for Roblox and UGC games
Founded in 2023, Gamebeast was building tools for Roblox developers, with ambitions to serve developers on other user-generated-content platforms as well. Its stated goals included improving revenue, engagement, and community sentiment. The profile did not establish independently measured gains or detail which specific tools—such as analytics, monetization, or live-operations features—were available.
CEO Zander Brumbaugh had been making games and user-generated content since age 12, published books about coding Roblox games, and earned a graduate degree in computer science from the University of Washington. He co-founded the company with Christian Meris. As reported in May 2025, Gamebeast had raised $3.7 million and graduated from a16z’s gaming accelerator.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsSpecialized tools could help smaller studios manage work they might otherwise build in-house. The trade-off is platform dependence: access, product usefulness, and permissible practices can hinge on Roblox’s technical interfaces and rules. Game-specific results can also vary, so the company’s stated aim of improving performance is not evidence that a tool produces the same lift across titles. Monetization and engagement features in games with young audiences also make platform compliance, moderation, and player trust important considerations.
Scowtt: AI-assisted lead qualification and follow-up
Founded in 2024 by CEO Eduardo Indacochea, Scowtt developed software to qualify leads, predict which prospects were likely to convert, and interact with prospects to schedule calls. The profile described CRM and social-platform integrations. Indacochea brought more than 13 years at Microsoft and later leadership experience at Google and Meta, including a vice presidency in advertising.
Scowtt’s reported traction was notable relative to the other profiles: the seven-person company said it reached $1.5 million in annual recurring revenue during its first year and had raised $1 million. These are reported company figures, not independently verified financial statements. They provide a snapshot of the business’s claimed scale at the time, not proof of current revenue, retention, or profitability.

- If you want to build a better future, you must believe in secrets.
- The great secret of our time is that there are still uncharted frontiers to explore and new inventions to create. In Zero to One, legendary entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel shows how we can find singular ways to create those new things.
Indacochea separately wrote that Scowtt used more than 50 signals, including visits, bookings, and cart abandonment, and claimed 59% higher return on ad spend (ROAS) in Search and 80% across Performance Max and Meta Ads. Those figures are founder-reported claims in a LinkedIn post, not independently established customer results. The post, as described in the available coverage, does not establish a randomized comparison or otherwise show how much of the claimed difference was incremental.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →For a tool combining prediction with automated outreach, performance depends on data quality as well as the model: incomplete CRM histories can weaken scoring, while poorly governed messaging can harm a brand. Consent, opt-outs, privacy, and a route to human review matter wherever software contacts prospects on a company’s behalf.
Starter Set: a planned guide to baby-product choices
Starter Set was founded in 2024 to build an AI-powered assistant for parents choosing products for a growing family. The intended recommendations would account for family preferences and a baby’s developmental milestones. CEO Jane Dashevsky had more than a decade of product-leadership experience at Amazon; CTO Quentin Tai had been CTO at Planted and an engineer at Drizly.
Rank #4
The company planned to launch a minimum viable product later in 2025. That was a plan, not confirmation of a launch, a generally available service, or demonstrated recommendation quality. The profile did not state its business model, product catalog, or safety-review process.
Personalization could make shopping guidance more relevant, but it also raises the stakes for accuracy and transparency. Baby-product information can change when products are recalled or safety guidance is updated. Parents would need to know what evidence supports a recommendation, whether commercial relationships influence rankings, and how personal or child-related information is handled. A shopping assistant should not be treated as a substitute for medical, developmental, or product-safety advice.

What the four profiles reveal—and what they do not
The shared pattern is vertical software: each company focused on a defined workflow rather than a general-purpose consumer product. The technologies differ. Fritter’s central proposition was data aggregation; Gamebeast’s was developer tooling; Scowtt explicitly used AI for lead scoring and prospect interaction; Starter Set planned AI-assisted recommendations. Calling all four “AI startups” would blur those distinctions.
Best Value
They also depended on different kinds of trust. Fritter’s value would depend on reliable, well-explained public records. Gamebeast would need to work within platform rules and support healthy player experiences. Scowtt would need to demonstrate that conversion claims reflect genuine lift and that automated outreach is responsibly controlled. Starter Set would need credible product information and clear boundaries around safety advice. Across the group, technical functionality alone would not settle those questions.
Their reported stages were not directly comparable: Scowtt reported revenue, Gamebeast reported funding and accelerator participation, Fritter’s funding and commercial traction were not stated, and Starter Set was still planning an MVP. The May 2025 profile offers a useful view of founders and product ideas, but not a basis for judging current availability, customer adoption, financial durability, or the companies’ status today.
