Those Sonos Black Friday prices are historical, not live offers. BGR published the roundup on November 28, 2024, and said the promotions ran through December 2, 2024. As of August 2026, treat the prices below as a record of that U.S. sale—not as current availability. BGR described several prices as “lowest ever” or “all-time lows,” but the article did not provide a complete price-history database to independently verify every claim. The 2024 promotion covered 10 Sonos products: three soundbars, two subwoofers, four speakers and the Sonos Ace headphones. The Arc, Beam Gen 2 and Ray were the main television-audio deals; the newer Arc Ultra was specifically not discounted.

By the stated numbers, the Arc saved the most dollars ($200). The Ray had the largest calculable percentage reduction (about 39%). The Roam 2’s $139 price and the Ace’s $349 price were reported as historic bests, but the article did not give enough information to calculate their percentages.

Soundbars: choosing among Arc, Beam and Ray
Arc: the premium historical deal
At $699, the Arc was the most expensive soundbar in the roundup and received the biggest dollar cut. It made sense for a buyer seeking a substantial TV-audio upgrade in a medium or large room and planning eventually to add a subwoofer or rear speakers. It was an older model by the time of the sale, however, and the Arc Ultra was newer and excluded from the promotion. Check your television’s HDMI eARC/ARC support, room size and Dolby Atmos expectations before treating the discount as a reason to buy.

Beam (Gen 2): the middle ground
The Beam Gen 2 at $369 offered a lower entry price than the Arc while retaining a more capable feature set than the Ray. It was the most sensible historical choice for many small- and medium-room setups. It will not create the same scale or bass as an Arc, and the cost can rise quickly if you add a Sub Mini or surround speakers. Compare the complete system price, not just the soundbar. Ray: cheapest, but not equivalent
The $169 Ray was the roundup’s least expensive soundbar and its largest percentage discount. It was appropriate for improving basic television sound on a budget, not for a Dolby Atmos-focused home theater. Verify that your TV provides a compatible optical output and understand that the Ray has fewer expansion and connectivity capabilities than the Beam or Arc. See Sonos’ Ray page.
Subwoofers: Sub Mini or Sub 4?
The Sub Mini’s historical $343 price was a lower-cost route to deeper bass in a compatible Sonos system. The Sub 4, at $679, was newer, larger and aimed at bigger or more ambitious systems. The roundup did not establish a universal room-size rule or prove when the Sub 4’s premium is worthwhile. Consider placement, your existing soundbar or speakers and the cost of the whole system. Speakers for rooms and portability
Era 100
At $199, the Era 100 was the practical entry point for a bedroom, office, kitchen or small living area. One unit is not the same as a stereo pair, so two discounted speakers would have cost $398 before tax. Check app and compatibility requirements if adding it to older Sonos hardware. Era 300
The Era 300 cost $359, or $90 below the stated regular price. Its value depends on whether you want a wider, more spatial presentation and are willing to pay substantially more than for an Era 100. Two Era 100s may be preferable if stereo separation matters more than a single premium speaker. Official Era 300 information.
Roam 2
The Roam 2’s $139 price was described by BGR as an all-time low, but no comparison price appeared in the deal listing. It was the least expensive speaker in the roundup and suited travel, casual outdoor use and Bluetooth listening. Battery life, charging, volume and bass are more limited than on the Move 2. Move 2
The Move 2 fell from a stated $449 to $359. It was the larger, more powerful portable option, but also heavier and less convenient to carry. It made sense for buyers who wanted portable output plus Sonos multiroom integration; buyers who only need Bluetooth playback should compare ordinary party speakers. Official Move information.

Sonos Ace headphones
The Ace was listed at $349 and described as $100 off and matching its best price ever. Its main differentiator for Sonos owners was television-audio handoff with newer Sonos soundbars. The source also noted that Sony’s WH-1000XM5 could have an advantage in active noise cancellation; that is a subjective comparison, not a result established by the deal list. You do not need a Sonos system for ordinary wireless headphone use, so compare Bose, Sony, Apple and Sennheiser if ANC or price matters more than TV integration. Official Ace information.
Were these genuinely exceptional deals?
BGR called the Arc and Beam Gen 2 “lowest price ever,” the Ray and Roam 2 “all-time lows,” and the Era 100 the lowest price for a fixed Sonos speaker at the time. Those are the publication’s claims. The available report does not show price charts, the monitoring period, retailer-by-retailer matches, color-level availability or whether open-box products were excluded. Therefore, the safest conclusion is:

- The advertised savings were mathematically consistent with the stated comparison prices.
- The Arc was the largest dollar discount, and the Ray the largest calculable percentage discount.
- “Record low” should be read as BGR’s historical characterization, not an independently proven market-wide fact.
- U.S. stock, sellers, colors, tax, shipping and product condition could have changed during the promotion.
Decision guide
- Cheapest soundbar: Ray, if optical TV connection and basic audio are sufficient.
- Balanced TV upgrade: Beam Gen 2 for a small or medium room.
- Premium home-theater starting point: Arc, provided your TV and room justify it.
- More bass: Sub Mini for a moderate system; Sub 4 only when the larger system and budget justify it.
- Stationary speaker: Era 100 for value; Era 300 when its spatial presentation is important.
- Portable Sonos: Roam 2 for compactness, Move 2 for greater output and battery capacity.
- Existing Sonos owner: prioritize compatibility, stereo pairing or surround goals over the headline discount.
- No need for multiroom audio: compare conventional Bluetooth speakers, competing soundbars or an AV receiver before entering Sonos’ ecosystem.
What to check before buying any current replacement
Because the 2024 promotion expired, verify today’s price and inventory on Sonos or an authorized retailer. Confirm that a listing is new rather than refurbished, identify the actual seller and warranty, check return terms, and calculate accessories, stands, mounts, rear speakers and subwoofers. Also recheck current app support and compatibility for older Sonos equipment; those software details can change.
