Yes, the offer was real—but it was not a standard Rogers plan available to everyone. MobileSyrup reported on November 13, 2024, that some existing Rogers customers were offered 180GB of high-speed data for $70 per month, or $60 after a $10 Auto-Pay discount. The offer also reportedly included 1,000 U.S. long-distance minutes and 1,000 international long-distance minutes.
That report is historical. It does not establish that the same offer is still available in 2026, or that every Rogers customer can get it. The only reliable way to determine whether you qualify is to check your MyRogers account or ask Rogers about targeted offers.
What the reported offer included
According to MobileSyrup’s report, the targeted offer had these terms:

An independent iPhone in Canada report described a similar targeted offer. Neither report established a universal eligibility policy.

Why the price was $60—not simply $60
The reported calculation was:
$70 monthly plan price − $10 Auto-Pay discount = $60 before taxes and other account charges.
That distinction matters. The final bill could be higher because of taxes, device financing, protection plans, prorated charges, or other services. You should also confirm whether the Auto-Pay discount is recurring, which payment methods qualify, and whether changing payment details can remove it.
Rogers’ public plan pages also commonly display prices subject to Auto-Pay, bundling, line-count, location, and promotional conditions. Its current plan information is available at Rogers.com, but the displayed offers can change and may not match a logged-in customer’s account.

180GB does not mean unlimited full-speed data
The reported plan provided 180GB at high speed. After that allowance, data continued without an additional data charge but at reduced speeds.
That is different from unlimited full-speed data. Reduced speeds may be adequate for basic messaging, email, music and light browsing, but can make HD video, large downloads, hotspot use and app updates slower. The precise post-threshold speed was not established in the available reporting, so do not assume a particular rate.
Long-distance calling is not the same as U.S. roaming
The 1,000 U.S. minutes reportedly referred to long-distance calling. That generally means calls from Canada to U.S. numbers. It does not by itself prove that calls, texts or mobile data are included while you are physically in the United States.

Before accepting, ask specifically whether the offer includes:

- calls and texts while travelling in the United States;
- Mexico or other destinations;
- Roam Like Home or another roaming charge; and
- incoming international calls.
Do not treat “1,000 U.S. long-distance minutes” as a substitute for a Canada-U.S. or Canada-U.S.-Mexico roaming plan.
How to check whether your account has the offer
- Sign in to MyRogers through the website or Rogers mobile app.
- Open the wireless or mobile-services area.
- Check sections labelled Offers, Exclusive offers, Change plan or similar account-specific prompts. Rogers’ labels and menu paths may change.
- Review the full offer, including the price before and after discounts, data allowance, speed reduction, calling benefits, expiry date and eligibility conditions.
- Save a screenshot or download the confirmation before accepting.
- If nothing appears, contact Rogers and ask whether your account has a targeted, loyalty or retention wireless offer.
Rogers may not offer the same deal to every customer. Eligibility could vary by account, location, existing plan, number of lines, bundle, device status, credit standing or promotional campaign. Those are possible variables, not confirmed requirements for this particular offer.

What to confirm before changing plans
Ask Rogers for clear answers to these questions:
- Is the $10 Auto-Pay discount permanent or limited to a defined period?
- Which payment methods qualify?
- Is the plan available for bring-your-own-device customers?
- Can it be used with existing device financing?
- What is the exact price before taxes and account-level charges?
- What is the precise reduced-speed policy after 180GB?
- Is hotspot use included, and are there separate hotspot limits?
- Are the U.S. and international minutes usable only from Canada?
- Does switching remove existing credits or grandfathered features?
- Is the offer tied to one line or the entire account?
- Is there an acceptance deadline?
- Can you return to your previous plan if the new terms are unsuitable?
Do not cancel your current plan until the new offer is documented. Targeted offers can expire, disappear when an account is refreshed, or be replaced by another promotion.

Even if the offer is valid, the first invoice can differ from the headline price. Common causes include:
- prorated charges during the plan change;
- taxes and other account charges;
- delayed application of the Auto-Pay credit;
- device financing or device-protection charges;
- activation or plan-change charges; and
- loss of an older account credit.
Compare the first bill with the saved offer confirmation, not just the advertised monthly figure.

Was it a good deal?
In its November 2024 context, the reported offer was unusually generous for Rogers: 180GB of high-speed data for an effective $60, plus long-distance minutes. MobileSyrup described a nearby public option at $65 for 100GB and another high-data option at $100 for 175GB at the time.
Those historical comparisons should not be treated as current prices. Rogers’ currently indexed public plans show different configurations, including a displayed $60 plan with 100GB in one bundled and Auto-Pay-dependent setup. The deal is most valuable if you regularly use large amounts of data, need the long-distance minutes, want to remain on Rogers, and are not giving up a better grandfathered plan. It may not be worthwhile if you use only 10GB to 20GB per month, rarely call internationally, or can get sufficient service from a lower-cost carrier.

If your account does not qualify, compare the total bill—not only the data allowance. A Rogers BYOD plan may be appropriate if you want to stay on its network. Fido may appeal to customers seeking a lower-cost Rogers-family option, although current pricing and benefits must be checked separately. Freedom Mobile, Bell, TELUS and other Canadian providers may also be relevant depending on coverage, roaming needs and local promotions.
Do not assume that a new-customer or retailer offer reproduces an existing-customer targeted offer. For example, retailer listings can change quickly and may have different activation, device or eligibility rules. Switching can also affect device financing, bundled discounts, roaming benefits and loyalty credits.
Bottom line
Some Rogers customers were reportedly offered a strong $60-after-Auto-Pay plan with 180GB of high-speed data, but it was an account-specific offer reported in November 2024—not proof of a current public plan for everyone. Check MyRogers, save the terms, confirm the recurring discount and verify roaming, speed, device and credit conditions before changing your plan.
