The deal in brief: During Labor Day 2024 promotions, Samsung.com reportedly offered the U.S. unlocked 256GB Galaxy S24 Ultra for $1,099.99, $200 below its $1,299.99 list price, without requiring a trade-in. That was a historical offer, not a confirmed current price: the promotion has expired, and no live August 2026 price is established here.

Samsung’s U.S. unlocked price list puts the 256GB model at $1,299.99 and the 512GB model at $1,419.99. The $1,099.99 figure refers to the 256GB version, not every storage option. Samsung’s MSRP price list provides the reference prices.
PhoneArena reported that Samsung’s Labor Day promotion included $200 in instant savings on the 256GB model without a trade-in. Samsung’s own fall 2024 sale announcement said its promotion ran through September 15 and included savings on the S24 series; it does not independently confirm the exact S24 Ultra checkout price. The $200-off offer is best understood as a reported Samsung Store deal, not a price every retailer necessarily matched at the same time.
Why retailer and checkout details matter
Other retailers had similar prices in separate sale windows. 9to5Toys reported a July Amazon offer at $1,099.99 for 256GB and $1,219.99 for 512GB. Android Headlines reported a June Best Buy promotion with $200 off both configurations. Those reports show that similar discounts appeared at different times; they do not establish that Samsung, Amazon and Best Buy all offered identical terms during Labor Day itself.

Before treating any phone listing as a bargain, confirm the final device-only price and the exact model in the cart. Sales tax is additional, and prices can vary by color, seller, condition, account eligibility, coupons or payment terms. A listing marked renewed, refurbished, open-box or sold by a marketplace seller is not equivalent to a new phone sold by Samsung or an authorized retailer. “Unlocked” also does not by itself guarantee that an imported model has the same U.S. warranty or feature support.
Keep conditional savings separate from the cash price. A trade-in credit depends on the old phone’s model and condition and may be reduced after inspection; carrier credits may arrive in monthly installments tied to a plan. Financing, gift cards, cashback, education discounts and storage upgrades can change the total value, but they are not the same as an unconditional $200 price reduction.

Was $1,099.99 the lowest price?
It was a meaningful discount from the $1,299.99 MSRP, but it should not be called an all-time low. TechRadar documented a separate Amazon promotion at $1,049.99 for the 256GB phone. That lower reported price makes the Labor Day $1,099.99 offer a solid discount, not necessarily the best price a shopper could find.

At $1,099.99, buyers were paying for a large, feature-rich flagship rather than a compact or budget phone. The U.S. model uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor and has a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz, a 5,000mAh battery, IP68 dust and water resistance, and Samsung’s built-in S Pen. Samsung announced seven years of Android OS and security updates for the S24 series. That support promise helps the phone remain useful for years, but buyers should remember that a model launched earlier has fewer years of support remaining than a newer phone with a similar update commitment.

The S24 Ultra made the most sense for someone who wanted an unlocked Android phone, a large screen, S Pen note-taking, a versatile camera array and long software support—and who could buy it new near $1,100 without accepting restrictive carrier terms. It was a less compelling fit for someone who wanted one-handed use: the large body and squared-off edges can be cumbersome, and the S Pen adds a feature that not everyone needs.

Because the Labor Day promotion is over, compare a current S24 Ultra listing with the actual checkout price of newer Galaxy Ultra models before buying. A newer model may offer a newer processor, modem and camera processing, as well as more remaining software support. Compare the out-of-pocket cost rather than a headline trade-in value or a carrier discount paid over 24 to 36 months.

- Compare a Pixel Pro if Google’s camera processing and Android experience are the priority; it does not replace the S24 Ultra’s built-in S Pen.
- Compare an iPhone Pro Max if you rely on iOS, Apple Watch, iMessage or other Apple services.
- Consider certified refurbished only if a lower upfront price outweighs the preference for factory-sealed condition, fuller return protection or the best available warranty.
