Samsung India’s “Back to Campus” campaign was a genuine student promotion, but it was not newly launched in 2026. Samsung announced it on May 20, 2024, saying the offers had begun on May 17. The campaign covered selected Galaxy Book laptops, Galaxy Tab tablets and Galaxy smartphones, with benefits of up to 10% through Samsung Student+, up to 24 months of no-cost EMI, up to ₹12,000 in bank cashback and up to ₹8,000 in upgrade benefits.
The announcement does not establish that those terms are still available. Students should check the live Samsung India store and current promotion terms before treating any similar “Back to Campus” offer as active.
What Samsung announced
Samsung India promoted the campaign under the tagline “Show Them How It’s Done.” It positioned Galaxy devices as tools for studying, creative work and communication, and made the offer available through Samsung.com, selected retail stores and other online platforms.
Because this was an India-specific campaign, its rupee prices and terms do not show that the same promotion was available in the United States or elsewhere.

The advertised student benefits

These were separate promotional mechanisms, not a guarantee that every buyer could combine every maximum benefit. Samsung’s announcement did not provide a complete product-by-product stacking table. The word “up to” is important: the final value could depend on the exact configuration, bank, payment method, trade-in device and campaign terms.
Which devices were included?
Samsung identified selected products from these ranges:
- Galaxy Book4 series
- Galaxy Book3 series
- Galaxy Book2 series
- Galaxy Tab S9 series
- Galaxy Tab A9 series
- Selected Galaxy A-series smartphones
- Selected Galaxy S-series smartphones
“Selected” does not mean every model or storage variant in those families qualified. Older Book2 and Book3 models could also be affected by inventory and replacement by newer generations.

Samsung’s example prices
The following figures came from Samsung’s May 2024 announcement and should not be treated as current September 2026 prices:

An “effective price” can reflect conditional cashback or trade-in benefits rather than the amount charged at checkout. Check the ordinary selling price, the immediate payment due and the conditions for receiving any later benefit.
How students could access the promotion
Samsung identified Samsung Student+ as the route for the student discount. However, the 2024 announcement did not spell out the complete verification process. On the current Samsung India site, confirm:

- Whether a Samsung account is required.
- Whether verification uses an institute email address, school or college details, a third-party service or uploaded documents.
- Whether school students, college students, university students and newly admitted students qualify.
- Whether a parent can buy on behalf of an eligible student.
- Whether Student+ pricing applies online, in stores or through both channels.
- Whether it can be combined with cashback, trade-in credit, bundles or EMI.
Do not assume that a retailer’s displayed discount includes Student+ pricing. Samsung said the campaign was available through Samsung.com, selected retail stores and other online platforms, but stock, checkout rules, warranty terms and return policies may differ by seller.

Compare the final cost, not the largest headline saving. Before paying, check:
- the exact model, storage, connectivity and configuration;
- the price after any verified student discount;
- whether cashback is instant or credited later;
- the bank and payment method required for cashback;
- the full repayment schedule and any processing fees for no-cost EMI;
- the trade-in device’s assessed value and the separate upgrade bonus;
- the product’s generation, warranty and return policy; and
- whether a competing device better matches the student’s workload.
No-cost EMI should not automatically be counted as a saving. Review the bank and retailer terms to see whether processing charges or other costs remain.

Which Galaxy device suits which student?
Students who need a primary computer
A Galaxy Book is generally the more practical choice for desktop applications, coding, research, file management and long-form assignments. A laptop-first buyer should confirm that required academic software works on the chosen Windows configuration and that the model has sufficient memory and storage.
Students focused on notes and reading
A Galaxy Tab may suit students who prioritise handwritten notes, PDF reading, portability and media consumption. It may be a poor replacement for a laptop when coursework requires desktop-only software, extensive coding environments or keyboard-heavy work.

Existing Galaxy owners
The campaign highlighted features including Quick Share, Multi Control, Phone Link and Second Screen. Samsung presented these as ways to move files, text and images between devices, connect a Galaxy phone with a laptop and use a Galaxy Tab as an additional display. Their usefulness depends on compatible Galaxy hardware, software and account requirements; Samsung’s promotional descriptions are not independent performance testing.

Buying both a Galaxy Book and a Tab makes the most sense when the student will actually use shared files, Second Screen and cross-device workflows. Otherwise, the ecosystem convenience may not justify the combined cost.
Students considering a phone upgrade
The Galaxy S24 example looked attractive because Samsung combined bank cashback with an upgrade bonus. The real value depended on the old phone’s condition, Samsung’s trade-in assessment, the qualifying payment method and whether the student needed a flagship phone at all. A lower-priced Galaxy A-series model may be better value for someone who already has a capable phone or has little trade-in value.
What is confirmed—and what is not
Confirmed by Samsung’s 2024 announcement
- The campaign was announced by Samsung India on May 20, 2024.
- Samsung said the offers began on May 17, 2024.
- The campaign covered selected Galaxy Book, Galaxy Tab and Galaxy smartphone products.
- The headline benefits were up to 10% Student+, 24 months of no-cost EMI, ₹12,000 bank cashback and an ₹8,000 upgrade bonus.
- Samsung listed Samsung.com, selected stores and other online platforms as sales channels.
Not established by that announcement
- That the 2024 campaign remains active in 2026.
- The current model list, prices or discount percentage.
- The exact Student+ verification workflow.
- That all benefits can be combined.
- Current inventory, retailer terms or current trade-in valuations.
A third-party result may refer to a separate 2026 “Back to Campus” sale, but the cited evidence does not verify a corresponding current official Samsung campaign page. Treat any new offer as separate unless its live terms appear on Samsung India’s official channels.

Bottom line
Samsung’s Back to Campus campaign was a real India-specific announcement from May 2024, with substantial advertised benefits on selected Galaxy devices. But the figures—especially the “up to” discounts, cashback, upgrade bonus and effective prices—were conditional and historical. In 2026, verify the live Samsung India offer, student eligibility, stacking rules and final checkout price before buying.
