There are no meaningful Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 pre-orders now. Samsung’s launch window has ended, and the Fold7 is a previous-generation phone. The current model is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra—not a “Fold7 Ultra.”
For a US buyer, the best Fold7 route depends on the trade-in value you can actually receive, whether you want an unlocked phone, and how much cheaper the older model is than the newer Fold8 Ultra. Prices and availability below were checked against Samsung’s US pages on August 18, 2026; dynamic inventory and trade-in offers can change.

Samsung’s current Fold7 purchase page presents the phone as a regular buy-now product, not a pre-order. Samsung’s Fold8 Ultra offers page identifies the newer model as the current flagship.

Is the Galaxy Z Fold7 still available to pre-order?
No—not in the normal launch sense. A pre-order is placed before a phone’s general release, usually in exchange for launch incentives or an early shipment. The Fold7’s pre-order period is over. Remaining new stock, renewed stock, carrier inventory and open-box units are purchases, not pre-orders.

The Fold8 Ultra’s Samsung-listed pre-order window ran from July 22 through August 7, 2026, and that launch window has also passed. Do not treat an ordinary “Buy now” button, an old search result or a recycled deal page as evidence of a live pre-order.
The naming correction: the Fold7 is not an Ultra foldable
Samsung’s relevant newer product is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is a separate, previous-generation book-style foldable. Search results and deal pages can mix the two generations, sometimes retaining older Fold7 URLs while displaying newer Fold8 Ultra language.
Before buying, confirm the exact product name, storage capacity, model number, price and delivery status at checkout. A visible “price checked” date is especially important because Samsung’s trade-in values, inventory and promotions are dynamic.

Best for a buyer with a valuable trade-in
Start with Samsung’s live trade-in quote, then compare the resulting net cost with a carrier and retailer offer. The biggest advertised rebate is not automatically the best deal.
Use this calculation:
Net handset cost = purchase price − guaranteed trade-in credit − guaranteed gift card or discount + required fees and accessories.

For a carrier offer, add the cost of any required plan and account for the entire bill-credit period. A phone advertised as “free” may require 24 or 36 months of service, and leaving early can forfeit future credits.
Samsung says trade-in eligibility can depend on power, charging, display operation, damage, blacklist status, ownership and removal of software locks. The displayed quote is not necessarily the final accepted value after inspection.
Best for an unlocked buyer
Compare three categories rather than focusing only on Samsung’s headline price:
- New unlocked Fold7 stock: the simplest option, but the $1,999.99 starting price is high for a previous-generation device.
- Certified Re-Newed Fold7: Samsung listings showed approximately $1,699 for 256GB, $1,749 for 512GB and $1,879 for 1TB. Check the exact configuration because some listings may be unavailable.
- Open-box or carrier stock: potentially cheaper, but verify US compatibility, unlocking rules, warranty, return period and included accessories.
Best for the lowest upfront price
Samsung Certified Re-Newed is the strongest first-party lower-price option found in the available listings. It is not equivalent to buying a brand-new phone in every respect, however. Compare warranty length, battery condition, return rights, hinge and inner-screen coverage, model compatibility and accessories.
An open-box phone may cost less still, but the seller’s return policy and repair coverage matter more for a foldable than they do for many conventional phones. Do not trade away meaningful warranty protection for a small saving.

Best for avoiding a long carrier commitment
An unlocked Samsung purchase generally provides more flexibility than a carrier installment promotion. Carrier financing can reduce the amount due today, but compare the full plan cost, bill-credit schedule, unlock policy, upgrade requirements and consequences of switching providers.
A carrier recommendation requires checking the carrier’s live terms for your account and ZIP code. Do not assume an older Fold7 promotion remains available merely because it appears in a search result.
Fold7 versus Fold8 Ultra: how much cheaper should the older phone be?
The Fold7 should receive a substantial discount before it becomes the obvious value choice against the Fold8 Ultra. Samsung lists the Fold8 Ultra from $2,099.99 before trade-in, while a new 256GB Fold7 is listed at $1,999.99. That $100 difference is too small, by itself, to make the older generation compelling.
The right comparison includes:
- Net price after your actual trade-in quote.
- Storage capacity and the price of moving to the next tier.
- Camera hardware and display size or proportions.
- Thickness and weight.
- Processor and remaining software-support horizon.
- Warranty, repair exposure and protection-plan cost.
- Whether you need the newest software or AI features.
- Whether the Fold7 discount compensates for buying last generation.
The Fold8 Ultra is not automatically the better financial choice for every buyer. A meaningfully discounted Fold7, especially a renewed unit with acceptable coverage, can be sensible. But if a new Fold7 costs nearly as much as the current model, buying the older generation is difficult to defend on price alone.
What “up to $1,000 off” really means
Samsung’s historical Fold7 launch materials advertised savings of up to $1,000 through eligible trade-ins. That was a maximum, not a universal discount, and it should not be presented as a live Fold7 pre-order offer.

“Up to” usually means the top value is limited to selected devices, conditions, storage configurations, promotional periods and regions. A cracked-screen bonus may have separate rules. The value can be reduced or rejected if the phone fails inspection, arrives late, is blacklisted, remains financed or is still account-locked.
Two hypothetical examples
Example 1: new unlocked Fold7. Suppose Samsung quotes $800 for your eligible trade-in on a $1,999.99 256GB Fold7. Your handset cost before tax would be approximately $1,199.99, not “$1,000 off” in addition to some other guaranteed discount. You would still need to account for taxes and any charger, protection plan or other accessory.
Example 2: renewed Fold7. Suppose a certified renewed 256GB unit is listed at $1,699 and your qualifying trade-in is valued at $500. The handset cost before tax would be approximately $1,199. The lower starting price may make the renewed route more attractive, but only if its warranty and return terms meet your needs.
These are illustrations, not quotes. Use the live Samsung trade-in tool and compare the final checkout total.
Fold7 financing: lower monthly payment, not a lower price
Samsung’s purchase pages showed approximate 24-month financing examples of $83.34 per month for the 256GB model and $91.67 per month for the 512GB model. Financing requires approval, and taxes, terms, promotional APR and eligibility may vary.

A monthly figure changes when you pay, not necessarily what the phone costs. Check:
- Total payments over the full term.
- APR and approval requirements.
- Amount due at checkout, including taxes.
- Whether the trade-in credit is applied immediately or through credits.
- Whether an installment or “pay in four” product creates large short-term payments.
What is included—and what is not
Samsung’s Fold7 purchase information lists the phone, a data cable and an ejection pin. A charger is not included. Include the cost of a compatible charger when comparing a deal, particularly if you are replacing an older phone that used a different charging setup.
Protection can also materially change ownership cost. Samsung purchase pages displayed Care+ options around $13 per month or $269 for two years, with a theft-and-loss option around $18 per month or $349 for two years. Treat these as page-displayed examples rather than universal prices, and compare deductibles, exclusions, claim limits and existing insurance before adding coverage.

- Back up the old phone, including authenticator apps and photos.
- Remove Google and Samsung accounts.
- Disable screen locks and theft-protection features.
- Factory-reset the device.
- Photograph its condition, serial number and IMEI.
- Package it according to the trade-in instructions.
- Record the shipping tracking number.
- Keep proof of shipment until the trade-in is accepted.
- Read the inspection deadline and downgrade or rejection terms.
- Do not cancel and reorder solely because support verbally promises a better price; obtain written confirmation that the promotion will carry over.
A cracked, blacklisted, financed or account-locked phone may not qualify. International models may also be excluded from US trade-in programs.
Warnings before you buy
- Check stock at checkout: storage, color and ZIP code can affect availability.
- Separate handset price from service cost: a carrier’s bill credits may require years of continued service.
- Check unlocking: a carrier phone may not be unlocked immediately.
- Protect the foldable: inner-screen and hinge repairs can be costly, and coverage rules differ.
- Check renewed terms: warranty, return period and condition matter as much as the sticker price.
- Do not recycle expired launch deals: historical registration coupons, storage upgrades, trade-in bonuses and retailer gift-card promotions are not current unless the live terms confirm them.
What the original Fold7 launch deal included
For historical context, Samsung’s Fold7 launch offer emphasized eligible trade-in savings of up to $1,000. Samsung also listed promotional extras such as six months of SiriusXM and software-related benefits. Eligibility, expiry dates and combination restrictions applied, and Samsung stated that its trade-in program could not automatically be combined with every Samsung, carrier or retailer promotion.
Those launch terms should not be used as current pre-order pricing. The relevant current decision is whether remaining Fold7 stock is discounted enough to beat the Fold8 Ultra.
Bottom line: buy the Fold7 only at a real discount
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is no longer a pre-order product, and it is not Samsung’s Ultra foldable. If you have a valuable trade-in, compare Samsung’s live quote with the full cost of carrier alternatives. If you want the lowest credible price, check Samsung Certified Re-Newed stock and scrutinize its warranty and return terms. If a new Fold7 is priced close to the $2,099.99 starting price Samsung lists for the Fold8 Ultra, the newer phone is likely the more rational purchase.
