Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 for India on July 10, 2024. Preorders opened that day and retail sales began on July 24, 2024. The Fold6 launched at ₹164,999 and the Flip6 at ₹109,999. Samsung also announced HDFC cashback or an upgrade bonus, no-cost EMI, Galaxy Z Assurance and accessory discounts.
Important: those were July 2024 launch promotions, not confirmed August 2026 deals. Check Samsung’s current listings before buying; the older models have since been followed by newer Z-series phones.

India launch prices and variants
The following are Samsung’s official India launch MOPs (maximum operating prices), not necessarily today’s retail prices.

When did preorders and sales begin?
- Announcement and preorders: July 10, 2024.
- General sale: July 24, 2024.
- Channels: Samsung’s online channels and leading online and offline retailers.
The preorder window and its benefits were tied to the 2024 launch campaign. They should not be read as an ongoing offer in 2026.
What were the “exciting launch offers”?
₹8,000 HDFC cashback or ₹8,000 upgrade bonus
Samsung presented buyers with a choice between:
- ₹8,000 HDFC Bank cashback on eligible card transactions, subject to the applicable card, tenure and transaction terms; or
- ₹8,000 upgrade bonus through Samsung’s upgrade or exchange route.
These were alternatives in Samsung’s launch wording. Do not add both amounts together unless the applicable terms expressly allowed stacking. Cashback was not an automatic reduction for every HDFC cardholder, and exchange benefits could change after device-condition and IMEI checks.

Existing customers with a qualifying Samsung flagship smartphone could choose a ₹15,000 upgrade bonus. This was not a universal discount: eligibility depended on Samsung’s qualifying-device and upgrade conditions. It also should not be combined with other benefits without checking the campaign terms.
Up to nine months’ no-cost EMI
Samsung advertised up to nine months’ no-cost EMI through eligible banks, cards and tenures. EMI changes the payment schedule, not the phone’s official price. Confirm the eligible issuer, tenure, processing charges and any upfront payment before checkout.
Galaxy Z Assurance for ₹999
Preorder customers could buy a replacement package for:
- Fold6: two screen/parts replacements for ₹999; Samsung stated a value of ₹14,999.
- Flip6: two screen/parts replacements for ₹999; Samsung stated a value of ₹9,999.
This was not unlimited insurance or automatically comprehensive accidental- and liquid-damage cover. Exclusions, claim windows, eligibility and qualifying transactions applied; the stated values were Samsung’s promotional valuations.

Samsung announced 50% off selected covers for the Fold6 and Flip6, and up to 35% off selected Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds products. A separate Samsung Shop multi-buy campaign gave examples such as:

- Eligible HDFC cardholder without a trade-in: the ₹8,000 cashback was usually the simplest benefit, subject to bank terms.
- Buyer exchanging an older phone: choose the ₹8,000 upgrade bonus only if Samsung’s total exchange value beats a realistic independent resale price after inspection adjustments.
- Existing Samsung flagship owner: check the ₹15,000 route and the exact qualifying models before assuming eligibility.
- Buyer worried about foldable repairs: the ₹999 two-replacement package could have meaningful value, but it was not a blanket insurance policy.
- Buyer with no eligible card or trade-in: the cover and ecosystem discounts may help, but they do not materially change the phone’s MOP.
Always compare the final payable amount. Keep device price, exchange value, bonus, cashback, EMI cost, assurance fee and accessory savings as separate line items.
Fold6 versus Flip6: what changed and who should buy each?
Galaxy Z Fold6
- 7.6-inch inner display and 6.3-inch cover display.
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 12GB RAM.
- 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options.
- 50MP wide, 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom and 12MP ultrawide cameras.
- 4,400mAh battery and 239g weight.
Choose it for tablet-like multitasking, documents, reading and media. Its ₹164,999 starting price was ₹55,000 above the Flip6’s entry price, and its size and weight are the trade-offs.

Galaxy Z Flip6
- 6.7-inch main display and 3.4-inch cover display.
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 12GB RAM.
- 256GB or 512GB storage.
- 50MP wide and 12MP ultrawide cameras.
- 4,000mAh battery and a vapor chamber introduced to the Flip line with this generation.
Choose it for pocketability, a lower entry price and a conventional smartphone experience when opened. It offers less room for serious multitasking than the Fold6.
Samsung also highlighted Galaxy AI features, FlexCam Auto Zoom, suggested replies and the Flip6’s upgraded 50MP camera. Comparative specifications are documented in Omdia’s July 2024 comparison.
Current status in 2026
The Fold6 and Flip6 are 2024 models. Samsung India’s current buying pages have shown unavailable or “coming back soon” signals for combinations of these phones, so there is no reliable current price to publish here. Samsung has since announced newer Galaxy Z Fold and Flip generations. If you are buying now, compare a live price for the newer models with any remaining Fold6 or Flip6 stock, and separately verify warranty, software support, exchange value and protection-plan terms.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: At launch, the Flip6 was the lower-cost, portable choice and the Fold6 was the productivity-focused option. The best preorder benefit depended on eligibility: HDFC cashback, Samsung upgrade routes and assurance were separate value components, not one universal discount. In 2026, treat these figures as a July 2024 price-and-offer record and check current Samsung listings before purchasing.
