A Ryzen 7 7700X and Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2 motherboard bundle was reported at $418.99 on Amazon on May 19, 2025. The deal report called that the combo’s lowest price in the prior 30 days—not its lowest price ever. That price is historical: current availability and pricing have not been verified, so check the live listing before budgeting around it.

The report described an Amazon marketplace combo, with listing attribution referencing Micro Center. The listing description identified an Inland-branded Ryzen processor and the Gigabyte board. Before buying any similar listing, verify the exact parts, seller, condition, warranty and return terms. The deal report does not establish that this offer is still available.
There is also a separate Micro Center bundle identified as including 32 GB of DDR5-6000 memory with a Ryzen 7 7700X and B650 Gaming X AX V2 motherboard. That is a different, three-part offer; its price and availability are not established here.
Why the CPU and board pair sensibly
The Ryzen 7 7700X is an eight-core, 16-thread Zen 4 processor. That core count makes it a flexible choice for gaming alongside streaming or background applications, as well as workloads such as compiling and content creation. It is not automatically the best value for a gaming-first buyer: if a newer Ryzen X3D processor is close in current price, compare the full platform cost and prioritize what your games need rather than relying on the older deal price.

The B650 Gaming X AX V2 gives the build a mainstream AM5 foundation with DDR5 memory support, three M.2 connections, Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5Gb Ethernet. It is a full-size ATX board, so the case must support that form factor. The combination can suit a mid-range build in platform cost and features; that label does not mean the processor itself is an entry-level part.
Specifications that matter for a build
Ryzen 7 7700X
AMD lists the 7700X with a 4.5 GHz base clock, boost clock up to 5.4 GHz, 8 cores, 16 threads, 40 MB of combined cache and a 105 W TDP. It uses socket AM5; the AM5 platform supports DDR5 and PCIe Gen 5, but what a particular system exposes depends on its motherboard. See AMD’s Ryzen 7000 launch specifications. The relevant Micro Center processor listing says the heatsink is not included, so budget for a separate cooler.

Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2
Gigabyte lists support for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 processors, four DDR5 DIMM slots and up to 256 GB of memory. It supports AMD EXPO and Intel XMP profiles, but attainable memory speed and stability depend on the CPU, BIOS, DIMM configuration and memory kit. A matched two-DIMM kit is a sensible starting point; do not assume every high-speed kit will run at its advertised profile.

One distinction matters for graphics-card buyers: PCIe 5.0 on this board applies to an M.2 storage slot. Gigabyte documents the primary graphics slot as PCIe 4.0 x16 with Ryzen 7000 and 9000 processors. It is therefore misleading to describe the board without qualification as having PCIe 5.0 graphics support. Check Gigabyte’s specification page and the page for the exact board revision; memory capacity, CPU support and wireless module details can differ by revision.

A Gen 5 SSD will fit the board’s Gen 5 M.2 slot, but that capability alone is not a reason to pay extra for one in a gaming PC. A PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive may be the better value unless your workload benefits from sustained storage throughput.
What you still need to budget for
The reported combo is a CPU-and-motherboard deal, not a complete PC. Unless the exact listing explicitly says otherwise, account for:

- An ATX-compatible case and, if needed, additional case fans
- An operating system, if you need one
The 7700X’s integrated graphics should not be treated as a substitute for a gaming GPU. Cooler choice is not determined by TDP alone: workload, airflow, noise preferences and power settings matter. A capable tower air cooler or 240 mm-class liquid cooler may suit a build, but check fit and cooling performance for your particular setup.

There is no verified current quote for the original $418.99 listing. Treat that number only as a historical reference. To assess a current offer, compare the exact CPU and motherboard prices against buying them separately and against current Ryzen 9000 or X3D bundles. Include shipping and tax, and count seller reliability, warranty eligibility and return terms as part of the value—not just the advertised total.

- It may make sense if the live two-part price is clearly below comparable current CPU-and-board combinations, you need eight cores and a full-size ATX board, and your budget covers memory and cooling.
- Compare alternatives closely if a newer Ryzen 9000 or X3D bundle costs only modestly more, or if gaming at high refresh rates is your main priority.
- Skip or investigate further if the marketplace seller, CPU condition, warranty, included components or return policy are unclear.
For gaming-focused comparisons, AMD’s product pages identify the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 7 9800X3D as alternatives to evaluate. Their current prices are not established here, and a higher-priced CPU is not automatically better value if it forces a compromise on the graphics card.
Check BIOS and board revision before upgrading
Gigabyte advertises support for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 processors, but the required BIOS and the supported CPU list depend on the precise motherboard revision. For a later CPU upgrade, use the manufacturer’s support and BIOS page for the revision printed on the board or packaging. Q-Flash Plus can update BIOS without installing the CPU, memory or graphics card, but follow the instructions for that revision; do not rely on a generic file or procedure. AM5 provides an upgrade path, not an unconditional guarantee that every future processor will work.
Who should consider this pairing?
- Builders moving to AM5 who need eight CPU cores for gaming plus productivity or multitasking
- Buyers who want built-in Wi-Fi 6E, 2.5GbE and multiple M.2 slots
- People assembling a full-size ATX system with a discrete GPU and DDR5 budgeted separately
- Owners of an older platform who find the live bundle price compelling after comparing newer alternatives
It is a weaker fit for small-form-factor builds, buyers seeking a cooler-and-memory-included package, or anyone specifically requiring PCIe 5.0 for the graphics slot.
