Why the dock is the main attraction
The dock removes much of the repetitive work that makes basic robot mops inconvenient. After a run, it is designed to empty the robot’s dustbin, refill its water tank, wash the mop pads and dry them with cold air. That makes scheduled cleaning more practical for busy households and can be particularly useful when pets continually add dust and hair.
What you still have to maintain
- Empty or replace the dock’s dust bag.
- Refill the clean-water tank and empty the dirty-water tank.
- Clean the wash tray and inspect the dock intake.
- Wash or replace mop pads and clean filters.
- Remove hair from the main brush, side brush, wheels and axles.
- Keep LiDAR and other sensors clear.
Cold-air drying is not the same as hot-air drying, and the dock does not make the appliance maintenance-free. Roborock’s page does not establish universal replacement intervals, so follow the app and product documentation rather than an invented schedule.

How the vacuuming and mopping should be understood
Vacuuming
8,000Pa is a strong advertised figure for this price class, but suction numbers are not standardized real-world cleaning scores. Results depend on brush design, airflow, debris size, carpet pile, cleaning mode, number of passes and filter condition. No independent measurements in the available sources establish that the QV 35A beats a particular competitor or removes all embedded pet hair.
Mopping
The dual spinning pads and adjustable water flow are suited to routine maintenance on sealed hard floors. A stated maximum of 200RPM does not prove that every dried stain will disappear. The 3.80-inch height may fit under some beds and sofas, but measure the lowest obstruction yourself. Also allow room for the multifunction dock, its tanks and an unobstructed route for the robot to return.

Anti-tangle brushes reduce work but do not eliminate it. Check brush ends, the side brush, wheel axles and the dock intake.
A rug becomes damp
Confirm carpet zones and mop-lift settings, create a no-mop zone for sensitive rugs and test a small area before unattended runs.
The robot cannot reach a room
Measure thresholds and clearance, confirm the dock’s return path and move the dock away from stairs, furniture and narrow passages that block navigation.
