The company’s public positioning has also shifted. Earlier messaging emphasized “dynamic SaaS security”; the Series B announcement puts greater emphasis on AI applications, autonomous agents, embedded copilots and machine identities operating across business software. Reco’s April 2025 announcement is at reco.ai.
Why AI changes the SaaS-security problem
Traditional SaaS security focuses on applications, user accounts and configuration. Security teams review permissions, sharing settings, OAuth connections, dormant accounts, integrations and suspicious sessions. Those controls remain important, but AI introduces additional objects and relationships that may not appear in a conventional application inventory.
Embedded AI inside approved applications
A company may approve a CRM, collaboration suite or human-resources platform while overlooking which generative-AI features are enabled inside it. An embedded copilot can process business data even though the underlying application is already on the approved-software list.

Agents as non-human identities
An autonomous agent can receive credentials or delegated permissions to read, modify or transmit information. Its effective access may span several applications and can change when its instructions, tools or connected systems change. That makes ownership, privilege review and offboarding different from a simple employee-account check.
Shadow AI and indirect data paths
Employees can adopt unsanctioned AI services without procurement, privacy or security review. SaaS-to-SaaS automations can also move data indirectly, creating a path that is difficult to see by examining each application in isolation.
Reco says security teams need to know which applications and agents exist, who owns them, what they can access and how they interact. That is a vendor-positioning claim, not independent proof that identity, CASB, SSPM or other established controls cannot address the same risks.

What Reco says its platform does
Reco describes an enterprise, agentless platform that connects to SaaS applications through APIs. Its product messaging covers discovery, identity and permission mapping, posture management, threat detection, data-exposure visibility, governance and remediation. The company currently advertises coverage of more than 260 applications on its homepage; earlier pages cited more than 220 or 225, so application-count claims should be read as dated marketing figures rather than a timeless total. See Reco’s platform site.
Recommended Free Tools
- Connect applications: Reco says customers link supported SaaS systems through API integrations.
- Discover the estate: The platform is intended to identify approved, unapproved, shadow and AI-enabled applications.
- Map access: Reco says it maps users, service or non-human identities, agents, permissions, integrations and data-access paths.
- Prioritize risk: Findings can be evaluated using context such as ownership, privilege, application relationships and observed risk.
- Govern or remediate: The product is positioned to support policy workflows and corrective actions, subject to the customer’s approvals and available application controls.
Reco also says new applications can be added through its App Factory in days. Buyers should treat deployment-time and connector-depth statements as product claims to validate in a proof of concept. Its AI-agent automation information is published at reco.ai.
What evidence Reco has disclosed about growth
Reco reported 500% year-over-year growth in 2024 and a further 400% increase in 2025, measured on a substantially larger base. In its April 2025 financing announcement, it also reported a fivefold increase in annual recurring revenue over the prior year and a threefold rise in customer numbers.

These are company-reported operating metrics. Reco did not disclose absolute ARR or an absolute customer count in the cited Series B announcement, so the percentages cannot establish revenue scale, market share, retention or profitability.
What the $30 million is intended to fund
Reco’s stated uses are broad: hiring in engineering, product and go-to-market functions; expanding discovery and security for AI applications and agents; and supporting continued enterprise growth. The announcement does not specify a headcount target, acquisition budget, revenue goal, runway or geographic allocation.
Reco’s newsroom later listed announcements involving AI-agent-security releases, executive appointments, international activity and a Cyera integration. Those are subsequent developments, not commitments made alongside the February financing. They can be followed through the Reco newsroom.

What the raise may signal about the market
The investment does not prove that Reco is a market leader. It does suggest investor interest in a problem sitting between several established categories: SaaS security posture management, identity governance, identity-threat detection, data-security posture management, cloud-access governance and AI governance.
Enterprise AI is often introduced through software companies already approved by IT, rather than through a single standalone model provider. As a result, buyers increasingly need to inventory machine identities, delegated permissions and automated workflows alongside human users and applications. That is a reasonable interpretation of the financing and product direction, not a statement that investors have validated Reco’s efficacy independently.
Questions enterprise buyers should test in a demo
- Which applications have native connectors, and what functions does each connector expose?
- Does “discovery” identify only an application, or also its users, configurations, activity, AI features and connected agents?
- How does the product distinguish an AI agent from a conventional service account?
- Can it calculate an agent’s effective permissions across multiple applications?
- What telemetry is unavailable when an application has limited APIs or audit logs?
- Can remediation revoke access, disable an integration or quarantine an account, and are approval gates and rollback available?
- How are false positives, policy exceptions and separation of duties handled?
- Does Reco process prompts, model outputs or customer content, or primarily metadata and security events?
- What retention, regional-hosting, audit-report and certification options are available?
- How are multiple tenants, application instances and business units counted for pricing?
Where Reco may fit—and where it may not
Potentially strong fit
- Organizations with a large, fast-changing SaaS estate.
- Teams trying to discover shadow AI, embedded AI features and SaaS-to-SaaS connections.
- Security programs treating agents and other non-human identities as a distinct governance issue.
- Buyers seeking API-based deployment and a platform that combines discovery, posture, identity and detection functions.
Potentially poor fit
- Small businesses with only a few applications.
- Teams needing only a narrow compliance or configuration scanner.
- Organizations already receiving adequate telemetry through an identity provider, CASB, SIEM or SSPM product.
- Buyers requiring transparent self-service pricing or immediate checkout.
- Regulated organizations whose required certifications or data-residency options have not been confirmed.
- Companies seeking endpoint-level prompt inspection or browser controls rather than SaaS/API visibility.
Alternatives and commercial context
Reco’s main site uses a request-a-demo model. An AWS Marketplace listing observed in August 2026 showed Reco Essential at $18,000 for 12 months, covering SSPM/posture management and compliance for up to three integrations, and Reco Advanced at $90,000 for 12 months, covering SaaS detection and response plus identity and access governance with unlimited integrations. The listing also advertised savings of up to 3% for two-year terms and up to 11% for three-year terms. These are dated marketplace prices, not universal contract terms; verify current availability at AWS Marketplace.
| Option | Public buying signal | Positioning to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Reco | Quote-based site; dated AWS Marketplace packages | AI/SaaS discovery, agent and non-human identity governance, posture and detection |
| Obsidian Security | Free tier advertised for up to 1,000 users; paid tiers are quote-based | SaaS and AI discovery, governance, detection and response; compare connector depth at Obsidian’s pricing page |
| AppOmni | No list price shown on the reviewed official pages | SaaS and AI application integrations, posture, threat detection, compliance and data exposure; see AppOmni’s solutions page |
| Existing stack | Depends on tools already owned | IAM, CASB, DLP, SIEM/SOAR, SSPM, DSPM, PAM and cloud-access governance may cover narrower requirements |
Reco’s comparison pages, including its Reco-versus-Obsidian page, are vendor-authored. They are useful for identifying evaluation questions, but claims about competitor architecture, licensing or coverage should be confirmed directly.
Important limitations in interpreting the announcement
- Investor participation does not establish that Workday Ventures, TIAA Ventures, S Ventures or Quadrille Capital are Reco customers.
- Application-count claims do not show equal functional depth for every connector.
- API-based tools can miss client-side activity, personal accounts, private integrations or events unavailable in an application’s logs.
- Discovery is not the same as risk reduction; ownership, effective privileges, remediation authority and follow-up monitoring still have to be established.
- Growth percentages lack absolute ARR and customer context.
- No valuation, profitability, retention rate, independent efficacy study or universal pricing schedule was disclosed.
Bottom line
Reco’s February 2026 Series B is a significant funding event for a company positioning SaaS security around AI applications, agents and non-human identities. The $30 million round, led by Zeev Ventures, lifts reported funding to $85 million and gives Reco resources to expand engineering, product and go-to-market efforts. For buyers, the key question is not whether every enterprise needs a dedicated AI-agent platform, but whether existing controls can inventory embedded AI, map effective permissions and govern automated workflows across the organization’s SaaS estate.
