Realme said on July 27, 2025, that it planned to simplify its Indian smartphone portfolio around the GT, Number and P series while preparing a new, online-focused series for around Diwali 2025. What Realme announced
The plan was attributed to Francis Wong, identified in the report as Realme India’s returning chief marketing officer and a former Realme Europe leader. According to GizmoChina’s July 27, 2025 report, Realme wanted to reduce overlap between similar phones and make its Indian lineup easier for consumers to understand.
Realme also planned a new smartphone family aimed primarily at online sales around the Diwali 2025 shopping period. The report linked the plan with the recently launched Realme 15 family, but did not say whether the new line would replace an existing family or sit alongside it.

The three core Realme series
Realme said it intended to focus its Indian smartphone portfolio on:
- GT
- Number
- P
This does not mean every other Realme-branded phone was immediately discontinued. The wording describes three intended core series, not a confirmed list of the only families that would remain in stores. The available report also does not define precise price bands or specifications for each series.
The unnamed online-focused series
The proposed new line was described as online-focused. That usually means a product is primarily marketed and sold through digital channels, but it does not automatically mean online-only or exclusive to Amazon, Flipkart or another named retailer.

The report did not disclose:
- The series name or model numbers
- A confirmed launch date
- Pricing or promotional offers
- Processor, camera, battery or display specifications
- The e-commerce partner or distribution policy
- Whether the series would replace Narzo or another Realme family
Readers should therefore avoid treating the Diwali reference as a firm launch date or assuming the new phones would be cheaper, more premium or exclusive to a particular marketplace.
Why Realme wanted less portfolio clutter

A simpler lineup could make it easier to compare models, advertise product families and manage inventory. It could also help Realme plan software updates, spare parts and accessories more consistently. These are potential business benefits, however, rather than additional claims confirmed by the report.
Simplification can also create risks. If Realme merely renames overlapping phones or introduces another short-lived family, the new structure could reproduce the confusion it is intended to solve.

The announcement did not say that Realme was leaving the affordable-phone market. Instead, the company planned to be more selective in the heavily contested ₹10,000–₹20,000 range while remaining present in entry-level smartphones.
That distinction matters for buyers. A company can reduce duplicate models without eliminating affordable price points. The likely objective was fewer near-identical launches, not an immediate withdrawal from low-cost phones.
A broader India strategy—not simply a move online
Realme’s plan combined online product activity with efforts to expand its physical presence. The report described plans for:

GizmoChina reported that Realme held 9% of India’s smartphone market in the second quarter of 2025, citing Canalys. Because the available source is a secondary report rather than a directly verified Canalys publication, the figure should be read with that attribution intact.
The report also contrasted Realme’s gradual strategy with Xiaomi’s more abrupt premium push. That comparison was part of the reported account and should not be treated as independently established proof that any one strategy caused a particular market-share change.
