Short answer: Google’s main Pixel 9 launch freebies were subscription trials, not a free watch or earbuds for every buyer. The regular Pixel 9 had a shorter Google One offer than the Pro models, and retailer and carrier hardware promotions varied by country. These were 2024 launch offers; the Pro-series Google One AI Premium offer ended for qualifying purchases on November 15, 2025, so none should be treated as a current 2026 deal.

The Google Store’s launch offer terms distinguished the standard Pixel 9 from the Pro family. “Pixel 9” was not one uniform bundle: only the Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold received the year-long AI Premium offer.
What Google’s subscriptions included
Google One Premium on the regular Pixel 9 provided a six-month promotional membership with 2 TB of storage. Google One AI Premium on the Pro models lasted a year and included 2 TB of storage plus Gemini Advanced access under the plan as it existed at launch. Those AI features were tied to the time-limited membership, not a permanent phone entitlement. See Google’s Pixel 9 Pro and Pro Fold offer terms for conditions.
All four phones’ launch bundles also included six months of Fitbit Premium and three months of YouTube Premium. These are services, not cash rebates: their advertised retail prices do not equal money saved unless you would have paid for and used them anyway. Existing subscribers, family-plan members and people who already have equivalent storage may get less incremental value.

Were Pixel Buds or a Pixel Watch free?
Not universally. The U.S. Google Store package was principally a set of subscription offers, sometimes alongside separate store or carrier incentives; it did not mean every Pixel 9 preorder included Pixel Buds or a Pixel Watch. A discount on a watch is not the same as a free watch, and a trade-in credit is not a free gift.
Hardware promotions depended on the seller, country, model and preorder dates. For example, a Currys Ireland promotion offered Pixel Buds Pro 2 with qualifying Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pro Fold purchases under its own terms. That is evidence of a retailer-specific offer, not a global Google entitlement. Stock limits and claim deadlines could apply.

How country and seller changed the offer
- United States — Google Store: The model-based subscription bundle above is the clearest official baseline. Carrier deals were separate and could require a new line, eligible plan, trade-in or bill-credit commitment. Google’s launch announcement listed August 22, 2024 availability for Pixel 9 and Pro XL, followed by September 4 for Pro and Pro Fold in the U.S. (Google launch announcement).
- United Kingdom — Google Store and carriers: Eligible Pro models had the one-year AI Premium offer, while storage upgrades and Pixel Watch discounts varied. Vodafone documented its own qualifying Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL offer involving 12 months of Gemini Advanced, and separate terms covered memory promotions. These were Vodafone terms, not automatically Google Store bonuses: Gemini offer and storage offer terms.
- Australia: The published Pixel 9 preorder terms specified six months of Google One Premium 2 TB for new users, three months of YouTube Premium for new users, and six months of Fitbit Premium for new and returning users. The terms cover products and periods beyond one universal bundle, so check the relevant model and offer table before attributing a hardware gift: Australian promotion terms.
- Ireland and other European markets: Retailers could offer accessories or other incentives on specific models. Confirm the seller’s own dates, eligible model, claim process and stock conditions; do not assume a promotion in one country applied across Europe.
For any carrier “free phone” claim, check how bill credits work. Credits may be spread over 24 or 36 months and depend on keeping an eligible plan or line active; leaving early can forfeit remaining credits. Likewise, trade-in amounts depend on the device and condition and reduce the price rather than add a free product.
Redemption, eligibility and auto-renewal
At launch, the practical sequence was generally to buy an eligible model during the qualifying window, set up and activate it, then follow the relevant Google One, Fitbit or YouTube offer prompt or the redemption link supplied with the order. Sign in to the intended Google account, review the offer conditions and add a valid payment method if requested. The exact interface and claim route varied by service and country, so there was no single menu path guaranteed for every buyer.

Read the terms before confirming. Offers were limited by device, country, purchase date and account eligibility. Some companion trials were for new users; the Australian terms, for example, specified new users for Google One and YouTube but allowed new and returning Fitbit Premium users. Google’s Pixel offer eligibility guidance and the individual plan terms govern the details. Google’s Pro offer terms say existing Google One users could redeem in certain circumstances, but the promotional period could not simply be stacked onto an existing free trial.
These memberships were promotional periods, not permanent subscriptions. A payment method was generally required, and a trial could renew at the applicable paid rate unless cancelled before it ended. Launch-period U.S. Google Store terms listed post-trial prices of $19.99 per month for AI Premium, $9.99 for Fitbit Premium and $13.99 for YouTube Premium; those are historical launch figures, not verified 2026 prices. Check the current service’s cancellation and billing details if you are already enrolled. Returning or cancelling the phone could also affect the associated offer, and hardware gifts could have separate claim deadlines.

When the Pixel 9 freebies expired
The phones were announced on August 13, 2024. Google’s Pro-series AI Premium offer covered qualifying purchases through November 15, 2025, according to its offer terms. The Pixel 9 launch bundles described here are historical; the availability of the phone itself does not mean the old promotion can still be claimed. Fitbit and YouTube offers had their own conditions and end dates, so their expiry should not be inferred from the AI Premium deadline.
As of August 2026, the launch sources do not establish current Pixel 9 inventory, price or a live replacement offer. Check the Google Store’s current offers or the actual retailer and carrier listing before buying. A newer phone promotion or a straight price reduction may be more valuable than an expired trial bundle.

Was the bundle worth anything?
Judge it by what you would actually use, not by adding the trial prices together. The Pro package was most useful to someone who wanted 2 TB of Google storage and Gemini Advanced for a year; the base model’s storage trial offered less time. Fitbit Premium mattered most to a compatible-device owner, and YouTube Premium to someone who regularly uses YouTube and would otherwise subscribe.
If your priority was physical accessories, a qualifying retailer or carrier deal could be more useful—but verify whether it was a gift, a discount, a trade-in, or bill credits with service obligations. If you are shopping now, compare the phone’s current price and terms against other available Pixel offers rather than paying extra on the assumption that launch freebies remain claimable.
