Perplexity added live earnings-call transcription and a schedule of upcoming calls for Indian public companies to its Finance dashboard in an update reported on August 18, 2025. The feature can help investors follow management commentary and analyst questions in one place, but the announcement does not establish that every listed company or call is covered. Treat the transcript as a fast research aid—not an official record—and verify material figures against company and exchange disclosures.
What Perplexity announced
Perplexity’s Finance dashboard supports live transcription for earnings calls by Indian public companies and lists schedules for upcoming post-results calls, according to TechCrunch’s report of August 18, 2025 and The Economic Times. Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas also described the Finance dashboard update in a public announcement.
This is a feature within Perplexity Finance, not a separate app. The call calendar matters as well as the transcript: it gives users a way to find a call before it begins instead of looking for a transcript after the event.

An earnings call usually follows a company’s results announcement. Management presents or discusses performance, then answers questions from analysts. A live transcript turns the spoken call into text as the event proceeds, so a user can follow prepared remarks, guidance, operating commentary, and Q&A without relying only on audio.

Perplexity’s call functionality is connected to Quartr. Quartr says its technology supplies live and archived earnings-call transcripts to Perplexity. Quartr later announced an expanded partnership that brings live audio from earnings calls and other company events to Perplexity users globally. That is useful context, but “live” should not be read as “instantaneous”: streaming, speech recognition, and display can all introduce delay, and recognized words may need correction.
A transcript may help locate a comment quickly; any AI-generated summary or answer is a further layer of interpretation. Check the underlying passage before attributing a view or quotation to management.

Does it cover every Indian stock?
That has not been established. The launch was described as supporting Indian stocks or public companies, but the available announcement and partnership information do not provide a complete coverage list or confirm that every NSE- and BSE-listed company, every call, or every event format is included. Coverage may vary by company and by whether a usable event feed is available. Do not assume a small-cap company’s call will appear just because a larger company’s does.

How to look for a call
- Open Perplexity Finance and search for or select the Indian-listed company.
- Look for an earnings, events, or conference-call section and check the schedule for the company’s announced call.
- Open the event around its scheduled time and confirm that text is actually updating before relying on it as live.
- After the call, check the company’s investor-relations page and exchange disclosures for the results, presentation, and any official transcript.
Interface labels can change, and the precise navigation path is not established by the launch announcement. If no event appears, check the company’s investor-relations site and the NSE or BSE corporate announcements. Search Perplexity using the exact company name and “earnings call,” but treat a missing event as a possible coverage limitation—not proof that the company did not hold a call.
Why it may help Indian investors
Company results and commentary can be spread across exchange disclosures, investor-relations pages, presentations, webcasts, and transcripts published later. For example, Indian companies file earnings-call transcripts through official channels; an NSE-hosted transcript illustrates that route. Perplexity’s practical advantage is speed and convenience: a calendar and rolling text can make it easier to monitor several calls and find a discussion of margins, demand, guidance, segments, or capital allocation.

That is not exclusive access to company information. The company’s results release, presentation, exchange filing, and official transcript remain the primary records. The India Finance rollout was promoted as making substantial market information freely accessible, but that does not prove that every transcript is permanently free or that all features have identical availability. Check the current product and subscription page for applicable access and limits rather than relying on an old price or plan description.
A careful workflow for using a live call
Before the call
- Read the quarter’s results and download the investor presentation from the company or exchange.
- Check the scheduled call time and note the issues you want clarified: growth, margins, demand, guidance, capital allocation, or a surprising movement in the results.
During the call
- Use the transcript to follow remarks and find relevant passages; listen to the audio where available if wording or context is unclear.
- Separate what management explicitly said from an AI summary or inference. Note caveats, time periods, and whether a comment is about current performance or future expectations.
- Do not trade solely on an unverified live transcript. A misheard figure or incomplete answer can materially change the meaning.
After the call
- Check important numbers and quotations against the official results, presentation, filing, or published transcript.
- Confirm whether figures are in ₹ crore or another unit; whether growth is year-on-year or quarter-on-quarter; and whether results are consolidated or standalone. Distinguish percentages from percentage points, and reported from adjusted measures.
- Compare management’s current guidance and explanations with prior disclosures before drawing conclusions. A short summary can flatten qualifications or make a cautious statement sound more confident than it was.
Where Perplexity may fall short
- Coverage: A specific company or event may not appear; no complete coverage list is established.
- Accuracy and completeness: Speech recognition can mishear names, acronyms, Indian accounting terms, amounts, percentages, or guidance. A feed may also start late, drop out, or miss analyst questions.
- Language and audio: Hindi or regional-language remarks, code-switching, multiple speakers, poor audio, and sector jargon can make transcription harder. Uniform accuracy across these conditions has not been established.
- Provenance: A Perplexity answer or summary is not the company’s disclosure. For investing or publication, return to the source passage and primary documents.
- Historical depth: The launch does not guarantee a complete, searchable multi-year archive or structured historical financial data.
If a call is missing or the transcript looks incomplete, use the company’s investor-relations page and NSE or BSE filings to locate the official material. A later company transcript may be more complete than the live feed.

Perplexity’s India earnings-call feature is best treated as a faster way to discover, monitor, and query supported calls—not as a universal transcript service or a replacement for company filings. Use the calendar to find events, the live text to navigate discussion, and official sources to verify every material figure or quotation.
