The listing describes an imported Chinese-edition phone, with ColorOS by default and an optional retailer-installed OxygenOS conversion. Before treating the discount as a bargain, verify the exact RAM, storage, ROM, network bands, eSIM status, taxes, shipping and warranty terms.

The short version

Giztop’s OnePlus 15 listing shows stock and a starting price of $699, reduced from a displayed $749 comparison price. OnePlus’ U.S. launch prices were $899.99 for 12GB/256GB and $999.99 for 16GB/512GB, according to its launch announcement.

The lower price reflects a different purchasing arrangement, not simply a U.S. sale discount. Giztop says its phone is Chinese-market hardware. It can arrive with ColorOS, or Giztop can flash a global OxygenOS build. A software conversion does not turn Chinese hardware into a factory-global model: it cannot add missing carrier bands, eSIM capability, regional certification or official local warranty coverage.

Verdict: this can be excellent value for a technically confident importer who checks compatibility and accepts more complicated support. For most U.S. buyers who need predictable carrier service, eSIM, easy returns and a OnePlus-backed warranty, the official channel remains the safer purchase.

What the $699 Giztop offer actually means

• Availability: the standard product page was marked in stock when checked August 18, 2026. Inventory and pricing can change.
• “Starts at” pricing: $699 may apply only to the lowest memory tier, a particular color or ROM choice. Select the exact RAM/storage, condition, charger and shipping option before comparing.
• Imported edition: Giztop identifies the phone as Chinese edition, not an official U.S. retail SKU.
• Separate used listing: Giztop also lists an “almost new” purple 16GB/512GB model for $699, saying it was used for testing and appraisal for about a week. Do not assume that listing is factory sealed.

The checkout total may include shipping, insurance, payment fees, sales tax, customs duty or brokerage. The product price is therefore not necessarily the delivered price. Giztop also discusses lower-value declarations; buyers remain responsible for complying with destination customs rules, and inaccurate declarations can create insurance and recovery problems.

How much cheaper is it?

The apparent $200–$300 gap is not pure savings. Add import charges and delivery, then assign a value to official warranty service, simpler returns, carrier certification and resale value. If those protections matter, the effective difference may be much smaller.

These are strong performance and battery credentials. OnePlus’ claims about sustained frame rates, efficiency, playback and image processing are company laboratory claims, not independent test results.

Important specification conflicts

Giztop advertises 120W wired charging and storage options up to 1TB, while the official U.S. page specifies 80W and tops out at 512GB. Those may reflect a Chinese-market regional variant, but that explanation is not confirmed on the listing. Do not combine the retailer’s charging or storage figures with the U.S. specification as though they describe one identical SKU. Ask Giztop to identify the exact model and charger before ordering.

ColorOS, OxygenOS and the “global ROM” issue

Giztop says the Chinese-edition phone normally ships with ColorOS, Google Mobile Services and Play Store installed. It also offers a global OxygenOS flash. Treat that as a retailer-provided software conversion, not proof that the hardware is global.

Choosing ColorOS

ColorOS is the native Chinese-market software and may avoid some risks associated with a conversion. Giztop claims Google services and OTA updates are supported. However, international users may encounter region-specific apps and settings, different notification or assistant behavior, and inconsistencies with banking apps, Android Auto or DRM. Those outcomes are not guaranteed on every unit, so obtain the retailer’s policy in writing.

Choosing a retailer-installed OxygenOS build

OxygenOS may feel more familiar and Google-focused, but flashing cannot add bands or eSIM. Before purchase, ask:

• Is the bootloader locked, and does the phone remain eligible for normal OTA updates?
• Will banking apps, Google Wallet, Android Auto and contactless payments work?
• Does the device retain Widevine L1 for high-definition streaming?
• What happens after a factory reset or major Android update?
• Does the ROM change or void the seller’s warranty?

Giztop says OTA updates are supported, but that remains a retailer claim. A customer report in Giztop’s review archive mentions Widevine L3; it is anecdotal and does not establish that every unit has the problem.

Will it work on a U.S. carrier?

Do not rely on “unlocked” as a guarantee. It normally means SIM-unlocked, not certified for every network or feature. Giztop lists LTE bands including B4 and B66 and 5G bands including n66 and n77, while also telling buyers to verify compatibility.

Before paying, identify the exact model and compare its complete band list with your carrier’s current requirements, including low-band coverage, VoLTE, rural service and future network changes. Ask the carrier to confirm that the phone’s IMEI can be activated. Avoid assuming full support for AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon or any other carrier without model-specific confirmation.

The listing describes dual nano-SIM and does not present eSIM support. In a Giztop customer-service response, the seller says the flashed global-ROM version does not support eSIM. Attribute that statement to Giztop; it is not an independently verified OnePlus U.S. specification.

Cameras: impressive hardware, unproven regional results

A triple-50MP specification does not guarantee flagship photography. Results depend on stabilization, telephoto optics, image processing, color tuning and low-light performance. OnePlus promotes 3.5x optical and up to 7x “optical-quality” zoom, but the Giztop camera descriptions and sensor names do not consistently match the U.S. page. Use the exact regional SKU’s specifications rather than assuming the two listings are identical. Buyers whose priority is dependable photography may prefer an officially supported camera phone, even if it has a smaller battery.

Giztop says the package includes the phone, USB-C cable, charger, manual, protective case and screen-protection accessories. Confirm the plug type, included adapter and charging standard for your destination before checkout; the supplied charger may be intended for another market.

Warranty, returns and customs

Giztop advertises a two-year warranty on product/category pages, but that is not equivalent to OnePlus’ U.S. warranty. Confirm in writing:

• Whether the warranty is provided by Giztop or OnePlus.
• Where repairs are performed and who pays international shipping.
• Whether a ROM flash, opened box or activation changes coverage.
• Whether “almost new” units have different terms.
• Whether refunds exclude shipping, customs, payment fees or restocking charges.

3. Request the precise model number, supported bands and eSIM answer.
4. Have your carrier validate the IMEI and network features.
5. Ask about bootloader state, OTA updates, Widevine, Wallet, banking apps and Android Auto if relevant.
6. Calculate shipping, tax, customs, payment fees and return-shipping exposure.
7. Read warranty and refund terms, including ROM-flash and almost-new exclusions.

Bottom line

At $699, the Giztop OnePlus 15 is a real listing and potentially a compelling hardware deal—not an official U.S. price cut. Its value depends on accepting Chinese-market hardware, checking carrier compatibility, choosing between ColorOS and a retailer-installed OxygenOS build, and assuming more warranty and customs responsibility.
