Best Buy Canada began selling the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R on February 13, 2026, as the phones’ announced exclusive Canadian retail partner. The launch is real, but that does not mean every model is in stock today: prices and availability vary by product listing, store and seller. The original gift-card promotion ended March 12, and OnePlus’s reported departure from North America makes support and repair plans important parts of the buying decision.
Best Buy Canada prices and availability
These are prices observed on Best Buy Canada’s unlocked OnePlus listings on August 18, 2026. They are not guaranteed current prices; check the live category page and the individual product page before ordering.

Some listings may also show a C$0.37 environmental handling fee. The listing, seller, condition and fulfillment method matter: Best Buy’s category page can include Marketplace sellers, open-box and refurbished items as well as new phones. A phone appearing in search results is not proof that a new unit is available.

Verify the colour, storage, return terms and any offer against that same SKU. Stock and product feeds can change, so if a category listing and product page disagree, treat the individual page and checkout availability as the better signal.

Best Buy announced the retail launch on February 13, 2026, and described itself as the exclusive Canadian retail partner for the two phones at launch. MobileSyrup also reported on the retail expansion on February 18. The announcement covered BestBuy.ca and Best Buy locations, but it does not guarantee that every configuration is available at every store today.
OnePlus 15 or OnePlus 15R?
The OnePlus 15 is the premium option; the 15R is the lower-priced, performance-oriented alternative. The roughly C$300 gap between the observed 256GB models buys more than extra storage: the 15 has a higher-end listed camera setup and the strongest documented feature set. The 15R may make more sense if the main priorities are fast everyday performance, a high-refresh-rate display and battery-focused value, and you are willing to accept camera and feature compromises.
Choose the OnePlus 15 if you want the fuller hardware package
Best Buy’s OnePlus 15 product listing specifies a 6.78-inch AMOLED display at 2772 × 1272 resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and 16GB of RAM on the observed 256GB model. It lists three 50MP rear cameras, a 32MP front camera and rear video capture up to 8K. The battery is listed at 7,300mAh, with 80W SUPERVOOC charging, Wi-Fi 7, 5G, OxygenOS 16 and IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection ratings.
That makes the 15 the more suitable pick for buyers who want the best available OnePlus hardware, more camera flexibility, the option of 512GB storage and stronger listed water- and dust-protection ratings. Still, camera hardware numbers alone do not guarantee the best photos. Best Buy’s review praised battery life and performance but flagged the camera as a potential weakness. If camera quality is your top priority, compare real photo results and consider whether a Pixel, Galaxy or iPhone better fits your needs.
Choose the OnePlus 15R if value matters more than camera flexibility
The 15R is positioned as a lower-cost phone with strong everyday speed, a 165Hz display, long battery life and fast charging. Its camera system is less premium than the OnePlus 15’s. The current Best Buy listing observed for this update showed a 256GB model at C$999.95; do not assume that a 512GB configuration is currently available just because an older launch report mentioned one. Check the live SKU and specifications before buying.
In practical terms, the 15R is the value choice for someone who wants a fast phone and smooth display but does not need the top camera setup or maximum storage choice. The 15 is the safer choice if you will use the cameras often, keep large amounts of media on the phone or want the most capable OnePlus model in this lineup.
The launch deal has expired
The February launch promotion offered a C$100 Best Buy gift card on select OnePlus 15 and 15R phones, additional savings on the OnePlus 15 for My Best Buy members, and a C$100 trade-in bonus toward either phone. The documented offer ran from February 13 through March 12, 2026, so it should not be treated as a current discount. Check the live product page for any replacement offer.

Under the launch terms, eligible online buyers were to receive the gift card four to six weeks after shipment. The terms also said the card had to be returned if the phone was returned or exchanged. Trade-in estimates depended on the old device’s condition, age, specifications, documentation and resale value; a trade-in is not a guaranteed C$100 credit for every phone. On July 30, 2026, Best Buy reported that OnePlus had announced its departure from the North American and European markets. According to Best Buy’s explainer, new OnePlus smartphones, earbuds, smartwatches and accessories are not expected for the Canadian market after the exit. That does not mean existing phones are immediately disabled or that promised updates stop, but it does make future service and the brand’s Canadian product roadmap less certain.
Best Buy’s report says OnePlus intends to honour promised software support and warranties for existing devices. It describes the OnePlus 15 and 15R schedule as four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates from launch. Treat that timeline as reported support policy, not a guarantee that every future update will arrive on a particular date or in a particular Canadian configuration.
Repair arrangements are a separate concern. The same Best Buy explainer says Canadian repair handling and local repair-partner arrangements were unclear. Best Buy says customers with Geek Squad Protection can approach a Best Buy location first about warranty or repair concerns, but that service is not the same thing as manufacturer warranty coverage. Before paying for protection, compare its price, term, exclusions, deductibles and repair-or-replacement terms with the manufacturer’s warranty and your own tolerance for repair risk. There is also a possible software change ahead. Best Buy reports that eligible devices are expected to move to ColorOS beginning with Android 17, with an option to switch or roll back during a limited period. The timing, eligibility and length of that window were not fully clear in the report. If you specifically want to remain on the current OxygenOS experience, consider this uncertainty before buying.
Should you buy one now?
These phones may still suit buyers who value long battery life, fast wired charging, smooth high-refresh-rate screens and strong performance. Buying through a Canadian retailer can also be more convenient than importing: you can check local pickup, return terms and optional protection rather than relying on an overseas seller. The reported support commitments remain relevant, but OnePlus’s exit changes the ownership calculation.
- Consider the OnePlus 15 if you want the best available OnePlus hardware, a more versatile listed camera system and up to 512GB storage—and you are comfortable with the support and software uncertainties.
- Consider the OnePlus 15R if you want to spend less for a fast, battery-oriented phone and can live with a less premium camera and fewer verified configuration options.
- Compare other brands or wait if dependable local repair access, a predictable regional roadmap or camera performance matters more than charging speed and battery capacity. Samsung, Google Pixel and iPhone models may be more appropriate, but compare current models and prices rather than assuming any alternative is automatically better.
- Compare the OnePlus 13 only at a substantial discount. Best Buy’s category page listed a new 512GB OnePlus 13 at C$1,399.95 when checked—more than the observed 256GB OnePlus 15 price—so an older model is not necessarily the better-value purchase.
Before checkout, confirm that the phone is new and sold by the seller you intend to buy from; verify colour, storage, shipping or pickup, current offer eligibility and the final price including any environmental fee. Check that the unlocked model suits your carrier and SIM or eSIM setup. If considering trade-in, get a current estimate and review the program terms at Best Buy’s Trade-In Program. For a cheaper Marketplace listing, weigh the seller’s warranty, return policy, condition and Canadian model compatibility against the savings.
