Those are historical prices, not verified offers for this week. As of August 2026, check the exact item and checkout price before treating either as a deal.
The C5 can still make sense if it is substantially cheaper than the newer C6 and sold new with a good return policy. Anker’s bank is worth considering near its reported $89.99 price if you need laptop-level USB-C charging; it is overkill for most phone-only users.

LG’s promotions page currently lists select-TV offers, including a Fanatics eGift promotion through August 30, 2026, but that does not confirm a C5 sale price. Before buying, verify the exact model and size, seller, new/open-box/refurbished condition, coupon application, delivery and installation costs, return window, and warranty. A displayed discount is not the final cost, and a marketplace or open-box listing is not equivalent to a new unit from an authorized retailer.
LG C5: a good OLED, but compare it with the C6
LG launched the C5 in six U.S. sizes: 42, 48, 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches. The February prices applied only to the 55- and 65-inch versions; do not assume the same percentage discount applies to larger or smaller models. LG’s launch materials list original U.S. MSRPs of $1,999 for the 55-inch, $2,699 for the 65-inch, $3,699 for the 77-inch, and $5,399 for the 83-inch. The C5’s appeal is OLED’s pixel-level light control and deep blacks, alongside support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. LG also advertised its Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen 8, Brightness Booster, and gaming features including 4K at 144Hz and variable refresh rate. These features make it a strong candidate for movies and gaming, but specifications do not remove the importance of room conditions or the price of the newer set.

The C5 is now a previous-generation model, with the C6 its successor. What Hi-Fi? rated the 42-, 48-, and 55-inch C5 five stars, while advising shoppers to compare its price with sale history and the newer model rather than relying on a large MSRP discount. Its C5 buying advice is a useful reminder that a discount percentage alone does not establish value.
- Consider the C5 when the same-size, new C5 is meaningfully cheaper than the C6, with a normal warranty and enough time to inspect the panel.
- Compare or choose the C6 when the price gap is modest. Do not assume a particular technical advantage without checking the exact models and specifications.
- Compare Mini-LED TVs for a very bright room, more screen area per dollar, or if you prefer to avoid OLED’s potential long-term risk from persistent static images.
OLED is not automatically the right choice for every use. If a screen will show fixed logos, news tickers, desktop interfaces, or game HUDs for long stretches, consider that usage pattern and the manufacturer’s care guidance. For an open-box C5, inspect promptly for dead or stuck pixels, visible banding, tinting, burn-in, panel damage, and missing accessories. Check the return policy; do not assume every issue qualifies for a free replacement. Wall mounting, bracket compatibility, installation labor, and recycling fees can also reduce the savings.

The original roundup described Anker’s bank as a 25,000mAh, 90Wh model with three USB-C ports, one USB-A port, and two integrated USB-C cables, one retractable. It listed up to 100W to one device, up to 165W across two USB-C devices, and up to 130W across three or four devices. These are historical product claims from the February article; confirm the exact model and current specifications on Anker’s power-bank pages before purchase.
Important: 165W is not the stated single-device output. The original description says the maximum is shared across two USB-C devices, while one device was listed at up to 100W. A laptop must support USB-C Power Delivery, and the bank’s available output must meet the laptop’s charging requirements. If your computer needs more than 100W from one USB-C connection, verify compatibility rather than assuming this bank can meet that demand.
Capacity does not translate directly into a fixed number of laptop charges. Conversion losses, the laptop’s battery size and power draw, charging protocol, and whether other devices are connected all affect usable energy and charging time. The integrated cables reduce the need to carry extra leads, but make cable condition and warranty coverage worth checking during the return period.
At 90Wh, the unit is below the commonly cited 100Wh threshold used in many carry-on battery rules, but that alone is not a guarantee of approval. Rules can depend on airline, quantity, labeling, and current security requirements. Do not pack a power bank in checked luggage; confirm current rules with your airline and relevant authorities before flying.
This is a better fit for someone who regularly charges a laptop, tablet, handheld gaming device, camera, or multiple devices than for someone who only wants emergency phone power. A smaller 5,000–10,000mAh bank is often lighter and easier to carry for phone-only use. Choose a different model if replaceable cables or more than 100W to one device are essential.
Should you buy either one?
- LG C5: Buy only after checking the exact size against current C6 and Mini-LED prices. The old February prices may have been attractive, but the original discount is not proof that today’s listing is a bargain. No current C5 price is verified here.
- Anker bank: The reported $89.99 price is a useful historical benchmark for laptop users, but the coupon is not confirmed as active. If checkout is much higher, compare current alternatives; if you only need phone power, prioritize a smaller bank.
For either product, assess the total at checkout—not the headline price—including shipping, installation, taxes, discounts that actually apply, and any membership requirement. Official deal pages may show promotions that do not apply to the specific model you want.
