To review Apple purchases on an iPhone, open the App Store, tap your profile picture or account button, and tap Purchase History. On some iOS versions, tap Apps & Purchase History first, then Purchase History. Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode if asked.
This record can help you identify App Store charges, in-app purchases, subscription renewals, free downloads, media purchases, AppleCare+, and other purchases billed through Apple.

Review purchase history on your iPhone
- Open the App Store.
- Tap your profile picture, initials, or account button at the top.
- Tap Purchase History. If that option is not shown, tap Apps & Purchase History, then tap Purchase History.
- Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode if prompted.
- Browse the transactions or use the search and filter controls.

Purchase History is more than a list of paid apps. It may include:

- In-app purchases
- Subscription charges and renewals
- Music, movies, TV shows, books, and other media
- AppleCare+
- Other content and services billed through Apple
It is best understood as a record of Apple-billed purchases. It is not necessarily a complete list of every transaction that appears on a bank or card statement.
Search for a particular purchase or charge
For a long history, search by the item’s name, price, or order ID when those fields are available. Change the date range if the screen initially shows a limited period such as Last 90 Days. Depending on the controls displayed, you may also filter by paid or free items, content type, and—when you are the Family Sharing organizer—family member.
If you are investigating a bank charge, search for the exact amount as well as the app or service name. Apple may combine several purchases or subscription charges into one bill, so one statement entry can correspond to multiple items. Apple explains this process and amount-based searching in its purchase and billing guidance.
Check subscriptions separately
Purchase History shows subscription transactions, but it is not where you manage future renewals. To view or change subscriptions, open:
Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions
From the subscription screen, you may be able to cancel, change, renew, or enable renewal-receipt emails. Deleting an app does not, by itself, cancel its subscription.

A subscription purchased directly from a developer or another provider may not appear in Apple’s subscription-management screen. In that case, use the provider’s account or billing page.
Review Family Sharing purchases
Family Sharing can explain a charge you do not immediately recognize. When Purchase Sharing is enabled, eligible apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books can appear in family members’ purchased-content areas. The family organizer may also be billed for eligible purchases made by members through the shared payment method.
Some subscriptions, in-app purchases, and other content are not shareable. A family member’s hidden app may also be absent from the shared-purchases list.
If you are the organizer, inspect the available family-member filter in Purchase History. For shared-content problems, verify that the account used for Family Sharing matches the account used for Media & Purchases. What to do about an unfamiliar Apple charge
An unfamiliar charge is not automatically evidence of fraud. Work through these checks:

- There will be no visible cosmetic imperfections when held at an arm’s length.
- This product is eligible for a replacement or refund within 90 days of receipt if you are not satisfied.
- Product may come in generic Box.
- Search Purchase History for the exact charged amount.
- Expand the date range and check whether Apple grouped several purchases into one bill.
- Search your email for
receipt from Apple
orinvoice from Apple
. Check which Apple Account appears on the receipt. - Check other Apple Accounts used by you or members of your household.
- Ask Family Sharing members whether they made the purchase.
- Check whether the charge came from a developer, marketplace, or other vendor rather than Apple.
- If you suspect someone accessed your account, change your Apple Account password.
You can also sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com to review online purchase information and report an issue. Apple’s unexpected-charge guidance covers grouped billing and account checks.
If Purchase History is empty or missing an item
Check the Media & Purchases account
The account used for Media & Purchases may differ from the account used for iCloud or another Apple service. Confirm that you are checking the Apple Account that actually made the purchase.
Use Apple’s online purchase tool
Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the relevant Apple Account. If your household uses multiple accounts, repeat the check with each one.
Check the receipt
Search email for an Apple receipt or invoice. The receipt can reveal the account associated with the transaction and may show whether several items were billed together.
Consider Family Sharing
If the charge may belong to a family member, the organizer should check the family purchase information. Only eligible shared purchases are visible, and hidden apps may not appear in the shared list.

Consider external billing
Not every purchase made inside an iPhone app is billed by Apple. Depending on the country or region—including markets with alternative payment or distribution rules—an app or service may use an external payment system. Apple may then have no purchase-history details, refund authority, subscription controls, or fraud-support responsibility for that transaction.
For an externally billed purchase, contact the developer, marketplace, or vendor that processed the payment. Apple explains these limits in its guidance on purchases not billed through the App Store.

After identifying an eligible Apple-billed item, request a refund through Apple’s reporting website:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase.
- Choose I’d like to.
- Select Request a refund.
- Choose a reason and tap Next.
- Select the app, subscription, or other item.
- Submit the request.
Apple says an update may take 24 to 48 hours. If approved, the refund can take additional time to return to the original payment method. Eligibility varies by country or region, and submitting a request does not guarantee approval.
A pending charge may not yet be eligible for a refund request. An unpaid order may need to be paid before you can request a refund. A Family Sharing organizer can request a refund for an eligible purchase charged to the shared payment method. Local consumer-protection law may provide additional rights. Purchase History versus the Purchased Apps list
These features serve different purposes:
- Purchase History: a transaction record that can include free downloads, paid items, subscriptions, and other Apple-billed content.
- Your Apps or Purchased: primarily a list for finding and redownloading apps.
Hiding an app removes it from the App Store purchase list, but it does not erase the app from the complete purchase history in Settings. Hiding can also affect whether family members can see or redownload it through Family Sharing. Apple describes this distinction in its hidden-purchase guidance.

Can Purchase History show free apps?
Yes. Apple’s purchase history can include free app downloads as well as paid apps and other Apple-billed content.
Does deleting an app cancel its subscription?
No. Check and cancel the subscription through Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.

Can I see every purchase made by my family?
