Samsung Pay’s payment features are now part of Samsung Wallet, so look for Samsung Wallet if Samsung Pay is not listed. To stop the swipe-up panel, turn off Quick access gestures; to remove stored payment details, delete each card in Wallet; to remove the app, use Uninstall if your Galaxy allows it, or Disable if it does not. Cards on a Galaxy Watch must be removed separately.
Choose what you want to remove
- Stop the swipe-up panel: Turn off Samsung Wallet Quick access gestures.
- Remove digital payment details: Delete payment cards inside Samsung Wallet.
- Remove the app: Uninstall it if your phone offers that option; otherwise disable it if available.
- Cancel a physical bank card: Contact the card issuer. Removing its digital version from Wallet does not cancel the physical card.
- Clean up a Galaxy Watch: Remove its cards separately from the phone.
Samsung Wallet can also hold items beyond payment cards, including memberships, passes, digital keys, IDs, and Samsung Pass credentials. What is available depends on country, device, software, and supported partners.
Remove payment cards from your phone
- Open Samsung Wallet.
- Tap All or, on some versions, Menu.
- Tap Payment cards, then select a card.
- Tap More options (the three vertical dots), then Delete card.
- Choose a reason if prompted and confirm with your Wallet PIN or biometrics.
Repeat for every card you want removed. Samsung says deleting a payment card removes its payment information, including the digital card number, from the phone; it does not close or deactivate the physical card. Contact your bank or card issuer if the physical card needs to be cancelled. See Samsung’s card-removal instructions.

Remove other Wallet items separately
Deleting payment cards does not necessarily remove other Wallet contents. For a membership card, Samsung’s FAQ gives this route: open Wallet, tap Menu > Memberships, choose the card, tap More options > Delete card, and confirm. Check other categories you use—such as transit cards, boarding passes, IDs, digital keys, and Samsung Pass credentials—and remove items individually where the app provides that option. Turn off the swipe-up shortcut
If Wallet opens accidentally from the bottom edge of the screen, you can disable its gestures without deleting cards or removing the app:
- Open Samsung Wallet and tap All or Menu.
- Tap More options > Settings.
- Open Quick access or Swipe up gesture.
- Turn off the switches for the Lock screen, Home screen, and Screen off locations you do not want.
The exact labels can differ. If they do not match, search your phone’s Settings or Wallet settings for “Quick access,” “Swipe up gesture,” or “Samsung Wallet.” Samsung documents the gesture locations and controls here.
Uninstall Samsung Wallet if your phone permits it
First try the standard Android app controls:
- Open Settings > Apps.
- Select Samsung Wallet or Samsung Pay.
- Tap Uninstall and confirm, if that button is available.
Some phones also let you open the Apps screen, touch and hold the Wallet icon, and tap Uninstall. If you installed the app yourself, uninstall may be available; a preinstalled copy may be treated differently. Model, carrier, region, and firmware affect the controls. Samsung notes that some preinstalled apps can be deleted, while others can only be disabled or hidden—or may not offer those options at all. Samsung’s preinstalled-app guidance

If Uninstall is missing, check for Disable
On the app’s page under Settings > Apps, tap Disable if the phone offers it, then confirm. You can use Force stop first if you want to stop the current process, but force stopping alone is temporary and does not remove or disable the app. Restart the phone and check whether Wallet is absent from normal app views and its shortcut no longer opens.
- Uninstall removes a user-installable app, though system components or updates may remain.
- Disable prevents ordinary operation but leaves the app package on the device.
- Hide icon only removes a visible shortcut; it does not delete Wallet data or stop the service.
- Force stop halts the current process temporarily; the app can run again later.
If there is no Disable option either, do not assume a hidden control exists. Turn off Quick access and remove any cards you no longer want stored. Avoid unofficial debloating tools or package-removal commands: removing system components can disrupt Wallet, NFC, Samsung Account functions, watch integration, or updates.
Remove cards from a Galaxy Watch
Phone and watch card storage are handled separately. Removing a card from the phone does not guarantee it has been removed from the watch. On the watch, press and hold the Back button to open Samsung Pay or Wallet, enter the watch PIN, select the card, tap More options, choose Delete or the minus icon, and confirm.

You may also manage watch cards through Galaxy Wearable, but the route depends on the model. Samsung’s instructions include Watch settings > Pay for Watch5/Watch6; Watch settings > Apps > App settings > Samsung Pay for Watch4; and Apps > Manage apps > Samsung Pay settings for Watch3/Active2. Labels and routes may differ on newer watches, where the app may be called Wallet. Consult Samsung’s model-specific instructions and its card management help.
Switching to Google Wallet or another default wallet
Removing Samsung Wallet does not necessarily change the phone’s NFC or contactless-payment settings. If you are switching wallets, first set up the replacement, then check your phone’s contactless-payment default. A common route is Settings > Connections > NFC and contactless payments > Contactless payments or Default wallet, but One UI and Android versions organize these settings differently. Select the wallet you intend to use and test it before relying on it.
If you are switching to Google Wallet, Google separately advises that removing its icon or uninstalling the app is not by itself the same as deactivating payment cards for contactless use. Follow Google’s instructions for cards in that service; this is a separate policy and should not be taken as proof that Samsung Wallet behaves identically.

Troubleshooting
A deleted card still appears
Confirm that Wallet accepted the deletion and PIN or biometric confirmation. Connect to a reliable internet connection, close and reopen Wallet, then restart the phone. Check whether the displayed item is inactive or awaiting reactivation, and check a paired watch separately. If the card remains incorrectly available, contact Samsung Support; Samsung lists network connectivity among the checks for a card that still displays after removal.
The Wallet shortcut still appears
Reopen Wallet’s Quick access or Swipe up gesture settings and turn off each location, including screen-off access. Hiding the app icon does not turn off those gestures.
The app returns after an update
A system, carrier, or app update can change app availability or settings on some devices. If Wallet returns, repeat the supported uninstall or disable steps and recheck Quick access. Do not use unsupported package removal to force a permanent result.

Wallet still appears on the watch
Remove the card from the watch itself or through the applicable Galaxy Wearable controls. Phone-side deletion alone is not a substitute for watch cleanup.
If the device is lost or being sold
If a phone or watch is missing, treat that as a security issue rather than an app-removal task. Use Samsung’s device-finding service where available to locate, lock, or erase the device and manage Wallet payment cards remotely. If you suspect unauthorized activity, contact card issuers promptly and change relevant account credentials. Samsung describes lost-device Wallet protections in its Wallet support information.
Before selling or returning a phone, remove Wallet cards and other account-linked items, remove watch cards and unpair or reset the watch separately, back up data you need, and follow Samsung’s account-removal and factory-reset guidance for the device. Deleting Wallet alone does not prepare a phone for resale or erase all personal data.
Final check
- Payment cards removed from the phone, if desired
- Memberships and other Wallet items checked separately
- Cards removed from a paired Galaxy Watch
- Quick access gestures disabled if accidental launches were the issue
- Wallet uninstalled or disabled only if the phone offers that control
- Default contactless wallet checked after switching services
- Issuer contacted if a physical card must be cancelled
Samsung Pay may appear under the Samsung Wallet name, and supported controls vary by country, carrier, device, and One UI version. If a menu label differs, search Settings or consult support for your exact Galaxy model.
