To check your T-Mobile Prepaid account balance, dial #999# from your T-Mobile phone and press Call or Send. Use #BAL# or #225# for service-cycle information, and #WEB# or #932# for data and expiration details. These are U.S. T-Mobile support options; what you see can vary by account type and line status.
Choose the code for the information you need
“Balance” can mean money in the account, the next renewal date, or remaining data. T-Mobile lists separate short codes for those checks:

To use a code, open the dialer on the T-Mobile phone associated with the prepaid account, enter the code exactly as shown—including both pound signs—and press Call or Send. Follow the prompt or read the result on screen. T-Mobile’s short-code list identifies each code and its purpose.

Check in T-Life
- Open or install T-Life, T-Mobile’s current all-in-one app.
- Sign in with the T-Mobile ID associated with the prepaid account.
- Open the account-management area and select the relevant prepaid account or line.
- Look for balance, plan, renewal, payment, or usage details.
App menus and labels can change; for example, T-Mobile instructions have referred to an Account tab that was previously called Manage. If you do not see a particular label, look for the equivalent account or usage section, or sign in on T-Mobile.com instead. Features may also differ between T-Mobile Prepaid and Connect by T-Mobile accounts.
As listed on T-Mobile’s support page on September 23, 2026, T-Life requires Android 11 or later or iOS 17 or later. App requirements can change, so check the current listing if the app will not install.
Check your account online
- Go to the T-Mobile account sign-in page.
- Sign in with the T-Mobile ID connected to your prepaid account.
- Open the account, billing, or payment area and review the displayed balance, renewal amount, payment information, and activity.
T-Mobile’s online account tools can also show payment history and help manage AutoPay or Auto Refill. The refill options page explains account payments and refills. A guest “Refill now” payment can add money, but it is not a full substitute for signing in to inspect account history and other account details.

Check by phone
Dial 611 from a T-Mobile phone and use the automated system’s account or balance prompts. T-Mobile says the automated system can provide usage-balance information and support payments. Its short-code and support options also list *ADD or *233 and *PAY or *729 for customer-care or payment-related help.
If you are calling from another phone, T-Mobile lists 1-877-720-5195 for its refill IVR. T-Mobile says a payment handled with help from a Care expert may incur a $5 payment support charge; digital payments are described as free of that charge. This qualification concerns payment support and does not mean every customer-service call carries a fee.
Know which balance matters
- Available Service Balance: Money available for eligible refills, one-time purchases, or certain charges outside the plan. It is not necessarily the amount required for your next renewal.
- Renewal amount: The minimum amount needed in the account—or supplied through Auto Refill—to continue service on the stated renewal date.
- Data balance: Data information is separate from the dollar balance. Use #WEB# or #932#, or check the usage area in T-Life or your online account.
- Service-cycle or expiration information: Use #BAL# or #225# for service-cycle information, and #WEB# or #932# for data-plan and expiration details.
T-Mobile says it may send alerts about low balances, expiring refills, or calls that cost more than the available balance. For an upcoming monthly renewal, check the renewal amount and date rather than assuming the general account balance tells you whether service will continue.

Multi-line and inactive accounts
On a multi-line prepaid account, T-Mobile says payments apply to the account as a whole, not to an individual line. Existing service balance may also be applied across lines at the end of the service cycle. Confirm that you are viewing the intended account or line before treating a displayed amount as money belonging only to one number.
T-Mobile says refills can be purchased only for active accounts. If service has expired or the account is canceled, do not assume that a standard refill will restore it; contact T-Mobile to check the account’s status and available options. T-Mobile’s refill instructions cover both T-Mobile Prepaid and Connect by T-Mobile, but account menus and plan details may differ.
If a short code does not work
- Re-enter the code exactly, including both pound signs.
- Press Call or Send; do not wait for a text message without submitting the code.
- Try again from the T-Mobile handset associated with the prepaid account.
- Restart the phone and retry while it is connected to the T-Mobile network.
- If the code still fails, use T-Life or sign in to T-Mobile.com.
- For automated help, dial 611 from a T-Mobile phone. Contact T-Mobile if the account is suspended, canceled, recently activated, or migrated.
T-Mobile’s short-code list does not give a single explanation for every failed check. An inactive line, network connection, device, or account type may affect the result, so use the online or phone options rather than assuming a particular cause.
These prepaid codes are not universal T-Mobile balance checks. Postpaid customers should generally use T-Life or T-Mobile.com to review billing and usage.
