Simply Piano is a recurring subscription, not a one-time purchase. In the U.S. Apple App Store listing observed in August 2026, prices included $24.95 for an Individual package, $34.95 for a Family package, $119.99 for a 12-month Individual plan, and $179.99 for a 12-month Family plan. Those are platform-specific observed offers—not universal prices. Your country, purchase platform, account, plan, and promotion can change the amount shown at checkout.
Simply directs prospective subscribers to check the current offer in the app under Menu → Join Simply or by selecting a Premium course. Before subscribing, confirm the exact plan, billing interval, amount charged today, renewal price, and trial end date.

Is annual Simply Piano billing cheaper?
Using the displayed prices as an illustration, an Individual package at $24.95 per month would cost $299.40 over 12 months. The displayed 12-month Individual price was $119.99—a difference of $179.41, or roughly 60%.
For Family, $34.95 multiplied by 12 equals $419.40, compared with the displayed annual price of $179.99. That is an illustrative difference of $239.41, or roughly 57%.
These calculations are not a promise of your price or even proof that every displayed package has a monthly equivalent. Annual subscriptions also charge the full amount upfront and renew annually unless you turn off auto-renewal.

What does the free version include?
Simply Piano has a limited free experience, but it is not the same as unlimited free access or a permanent free plan. Simply identifies Piano Basics and Touch Intro as free starting content.
Premium access adds advanced courses, tailored learning content, the broader Song Library, advanced practice features, and new courses and songs added over time. The official free-access explanation is the best place to confirm what is currently available on your account.

Individual, Duo, and Family plans
Individual
The Individual plan is designed for one learner. Simply describes it as providing one premium profile and access to one app. It does not provide the household profile capacity or broad access to all Simply apps associated with Family plans.
Duo
Simply’s help documentation describes a Duo option on iOS that can provide the subscriber and one additional family member with premium access to Simply Piano only. Treat Duo availability and pricing as platform- and account-specific rather than universal.
Family
Family is intended for households. Simply says it supports up to five premium profiles, separate progress for each family member, use on separate devices, and access to Simply’s apps under one subscription.
A Family plan can also include Simply Guitar, Simply Sing, and Simply Draw when users sign in with the same email address associated with the subscription. Family can be good value when two or more people will practice consistently. For one learner, it may mean paying for profiles and apps nobody uses.

Free trials: the charge most people overlook
Important: a trial is not the same as free access. Not every plan includes one, and Simply’s current help documentation associates its seven-day trial with the yearly plan. Eligibility can also be limited to one trial per account or Apple ID.

A trial automatically converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Simply recommends canceling at least 24 hours before expiration. Deleting the app does not cancel billing.
How to cancel
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → Apple Account/name → Subscriptions → Simply Piano → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Simply Piano → Cancel.
- Web purchase: use Simply’s support route or contact the company if the subscription was purchased online.
Labels may vary by operating-system version. The key is to cancel through the platform that originally billed you. If you move from iOS to Android, payment management generally remains tied to the original purchase platform.
Simply identifies in-app Help & Support and [email protected] as support routes. A small temporary authorization charge may appear during a trial as a payment-method check. For an unexpected subscription charge, Simply has a refund process, but eligibility and the billing platform can affect the result; no refund is guaranteed.

What devices and instruments work?
Simply Piano is available on mobile and tablet devices and Google Chromebooks. Simply’s support documentation says there is no Windows or general desktop version. The U.S. iOS listing observed during research required iOS 15.0 or later and supported iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Vision.
The app is designed to listen while you play an acoustic piano, MIDI piano, or keyboard and provide immediate feedback. A piano or keyboard is still needed for the normal playing experience; Touch Intro is an on-screen introduction, not a substitute for a full instrument.
Microphone recognition can be affected by room noise, piano volume, device placement, sustain-pedal use, and the keyboard’s sound. A MIDI connection may be preferable where supported, but the best setup depends on the device and instrument. Check current Android and Chromebook requirements before subscribing.

Is Simply Piano worth the cost?
Simply Piano is most likely to justify its price for a complete beginner who wants a guided sequence, instant feedback, recognizable songs, and game-like motivation. It can also make sense for a family with multiple active learners or for someone who wants access to Simply’s other learning apps through Family.
It may be poor value for someone who practices only occasionally, wants to learn only a handful of songs, needs Windows support, or wants detailed coaching on technique, voicing, improvisation, posture, or advanced repertoire. It is also a poor fit for anyone who wants permanent access after a single payment rather than an auto-renewing subscription.
Before choosing, ask:
- Will I practice at least two or three times a week?
- Will I use the structured course rather than only opening songs?
- Am I comfortable paying an annual plan upfront?
- Will at least two household members genuinely use Family?
- Would a teacher, method book, or free course better match my goal?
An app can teach notes, basic rhythm, song practice, and consistent routines. It cannot fully replace individualized correction of technique, musical interpretation, or recurring playing problems. A hybrid approach—an app for regular practice plus occasional teacher feedback—may be more suitable for students pursuing exams, performances, or serious long-term development.

Do not compare prices without matching billing interval, content level, platform, currency, family access, and promotional status. A low monthly-equivalent figure may conceal a large annual charge.

- Confirm the exact plan name: Individual, Duo, Family, or a promotional Premium package.
- Check whether billing is monthly, quarterly, or annual.
- Record the amount charged today and the renewal amount.
- Write down the trial end date, if one is offered.
- Confirm which Apple, Google, or web account will manage cancellation.
- Check how many profiles and apps the plan includes.
- Verify your device and operating-system compatibility.
- Make sure you have an acoustic piano, keyboard, or MIDI instrument for normal lessons.
