Hostinger Horizons is best for building and launching small, browser-based web apps quickly—not native iOS or Android apps. It can generate responsive interfaces, user accounts, data-backed workflows, and integrations such as Stripe and Supabase through natural-language prompts. Its low entry price is attractive, but AI-credit limits, platform dependence, security responsibilities, and uncertain migration costs matter more than the headline discount.
For a calculator, booking tool, customer portal, directory, dashboard, internal tool, or lightweight MVP, Horizons can be a sensible choice. It is a weaker fit for complex SaaS products, regulated data, mission-critical systems, native mobile apps, or projects that require complete infrastructure control.
What is Hostinger Horizons?
Hostinger Horizons is a prompt-driven AI web-app builder combined with Hostinger hosting and deployment. You describe what you want in natural language, review the generated application, and request changes through an AI chat interface.
Unlike Hostinger’s conventional Website Builder, Horizons is intended for interactive applications rather than only pages and posts. Hostinger lists use cases including dashboards, booking systems, marketplaces, customer portals, CRMs, fitness trackers, and project-management tools. Those examples demonstrate the intended scope, not a guarantee that every project will be production-ready without testing.

What it cannot replace
- It is not a native App Store or Google Play app builder.
- It is not a full cloud-development environment for every architecture.
- It does not make generated code automatically secure or production-ready.
- It is not the same product as Hostinger Website Builder.
- Its free tier is a trial, not permanently hosted free app infrastructure.
A project described as “mobile” in Horizons is generally a responsive web app accessed through a browser. If you need native iOS or Android binaries, Horizons is not the right tool.

The following is the U.S. pricing-page snapshot shown during the August 2026 research window. Prices, taxes, geography, discounts, billing periods, and renewal terms can change, so verify the checkout amount on the official pricing page.

The page shows 12-month totals of $83.88 for Explorer, $167.88 for Starter, and $479.88 for Hobbyist at the displayed promotional monthly rates. It also states that hosting and Horizons may renew separately, particularly when an existing Hostinger customer already has hosting. Domains and mailboxes included with plans are generally limited to the first year.
Do not evaluate the product using only “$6.99 per month.” Check the 12-month commitment, renewal price, taxes, hosting arrangement, domain duration, mailbox terms, and the cost of additional AI credits.

How the AI-credit system affects the real cost
AI credits are usage units, not guaranteed prompts. Hostinger says consumption varies with the complexity of the request. A small visual change may use far less than a structural change involving routes, authentication, database records, or multiple files.

There is no universal conversion rate from credits to prompts. Repeated debugging can consume credits quickly, especially when one request causes a regression and several follow-up requests are needed.
Hostinger’s pricing information says the AI Credit Usage dashboard breaks down usage for building, editing, and AI features within the app. Use that dashboard rather than estimating costs from the number of messages. Additional credits may be purchased without upgrading, but the exact balance, rollover, expiry, and top-up rules should be confirmed in your account before committing to a large project.
How to build an app with Horizons
- Open Hostinger hPanel.
- Go to Websites → Websites List.
- Open or create a Horizons project.
- Describe the app and its users in the chat interface.
- Review the generated preview at desktop and mobile widths.
- Request small, specific changes.
- Connect supported services, authentication, payments, and a domain.
- Test the result, then publish it.
The exact hPanel labels can change. Hostinger’s getting-started guide documents the current entry point.

For more reliable results, begin with a short specification. State user roles, fields, validation rules, success and failure states, permissions, and what existing functionality must remain unchanged. Build one feature at a time, save a version before major edits, and test each feature before adding another.
Features: what is documented and what requires verification
Authentication and data storage
The Explorer plan currently lists user accounts, logins, and data storage. That is enough to support the foundation of a member portal, progress tracker, basic CRM, or reservation system. It does not by itself establish enterprise-grade identity management, audit logs, granular role permissions, compliance controls, backup guarantees, or advanced migration tooling.
Backend and integrations
Current Hostinger documentation lists guidance for integrated backend functionality, Supabase, Stripe, online payment gateways, publishing, troubleshooting, SEO, and exporting. This indicates meaningful backend and integration support, but it should not be read as support for every database engine, webhook pattern, queue, API, or cloud architecture. Review the specific integration documentation for your project in the Horizons Help Center collection.

Starter lists subscriptions, physical and digital products, chatbots, and other AI features. Before using Horizons for a serious store, verify whether you need your own Stripe account, which countries and currencies are supported, whether one-time and recurring payments are available, how webhooks work, and how refunds, failed payments, tax, shipping, and order management are handled. Do not assume that an advertised payment integration supplies a complete commerce operation.

SEO, analytics, and GEO
Explorer lists SEO-optimized projects, while higher plans list analytics. The Help Center also documents SEO, indexing, and GEO settings involving an llms.txt file. These can improve technical discoverability, but they do not guarantee search rankings, crawling, or inclusion in AI-generated answers. A thin AI-generated app description can still perform poorly. Many app businesses also need a separate, crawlable marketing site and documentation.
Code editing and export
The current pricing page lists a Code Editor on Hobbyist and says paid users can download code. This differs from an older FAQ that described a more limited editing model. The newer plan structure should take priority for current buying decisions, but the documentation difference is a reminder to confirm features inside the account and plan you are purchasing.
Downloading code is not the same as effortlessly operating the complete app elsewhere. Before relying on Horizons for a long-lived business, determine whether the download includes the frontend, backend, database schema and data, authentication configuration, environment variables, payment setup, and Hostinger-specific services. A migration may require configuration changes or replacement backend components.

- Proof-of-concept applications and MVPs
- Internal dashboards and lightweight workflow tools
- Booking-request and reservation prototypes
- Directories with search or filtering
- Customer portals with basic account functionality
- Calculators, trackers, and simple subscription concepts
- Small stores or marketplaces whose workflows fit the documented integrations
TechRadar reported building a cryptocurrency price-comparison app and described the process as fast, with the resulting app functioning as intended in its test. That is useful independent evidence of the product’s prototyping potential, not proof that every app will have the same result.

Important limitations and risks
Generated code can regress
Later prompts can unintentionally alter shared components, routing, authentication, or database logic. Use version history, make narrow changes, test after every change, and keep an external copy of exported code.
Security remains your responsibility
A working demo is not evidence of secure authorization, input validation, secrets management, payment handling, privacy controls, backups, or accessibility. Do not place real customer, medical, financial, or other sensitive data in an unreviewed generated application. Have a qualified developer review the system before production use.
Platform dependence can outlast the subscription
Even when code can be downloaded, the running application may depend on managed hosting, authentication, databases, integrations, environment variables, or AI services. Test portability before you need it: download the project, identify dependencies, run it outside Hostinger, reconnect required services, and attempt a deployment elsewhere.

Horizons is evolving quickly, with current materials covering items such as backend features, visual editing, code editing, AI features, integrations, and GEO settings. Date-stamp your assumptions and recheck the plan page before purchase.
Which plan should you choose?
- Free: Use it to understand the interface and test the concept. It is not a hosted production option.
- Explorer: Best for one small web app needing basic accounts, storage, hosting, and SEO.
- Starter: The practical choice for a business app, commerce features, analytics, collaboration, or multiple projects.
- Hobbyist: Worth considering only when you need many projects, project duplication, higher credit volume, or the current Code Editor feature.

Final verdict
Hostinger Horizons is a compelling low-cost shortcut to a functional web-app prototype. Explorer is enough for a single, relatively simple project; Starter offers the best balance for many small businesses; Hobbyist makes sense mainly for frequent builders who specifically need code editing, duplication, or more capacity.
Choose it when speed, integrated hosting, and a beginner-friendly workflow matter more than architectural control. Choose another route when you need native mobile apps, strict compliance, unusual infrastructure, predictable engineering workflows, or easy migration to any host. Treat the app as untrusted software until authentication, authorization, data handling, payments, backups, and deployment have been professionally reviewed.
