Harbor Health acquired Seattle-based dementia-care startup Rippl on February 10, 2026. The companies did not disclose the purchase price or other financial terms. Rippl said its existing investors are making a significant new investment in the combined companies as Harbor Health integrates Rippl’s dementia-care and navigation platform into its broader chronic-condition services.

That distinction matters financially. A navigation service can create value not only through a subscription or clinical fee, but also by helping a payer or care organization manage medication problems, prevent crises and coordinate treatment across multiple settings.
Why Harbor Health would buy it
Harbor Health operates a combined “care and coverage” model. It brings together primary-care and specialty-care clinics, insurance products and condition-specific care pathways. In a September 2025 funding announcement, Harbor said it had raised $130 million, served more than 50,000 people in Central Texas, and operated 11 clinics, two mobile clinics and an infusion center. Those figures predate the Rippl acquisition and were company-reported at that time.

Harbor is therefore not acquiring Rippl solely for software. The potential asset is a specialized care model, clinical workforce, operating workflows and experience coordinating dementia care within value-based arrangements.
For Harbor, the possible advantages include:
- Clinical specialization: Adding a dementia-care model without building one from scratch.
- Distribution: Connecting Rippl’s services with Harbor’s clinics, affiliated providers and insurance membership.
- Payment alignment: Using dementia support in arrangements where better coordination and lower avoidable utilization can affect overall costs.
- Workflow integration: Linking dementia assessments, medication reviews, caregiver support and primary-care follow-up.
These are strategic possibilities, not confirmed post-acquisition results. Neither company publicly disclosed a detailed integration plan or quantified financial targets for the transaction.
What the acquisition means for patients and caregivers
Rippl said joining Harbor Health would help expand access to dementia-care support. GeekWire reported that Rippl services would remain available to people receiving care through Harbor Health and affiliated clinics.
The public information does not establish whether:
- Existing Rippl patients must re-enroll.
- Prices or insurance eligibility will change.
- Every Harbor Health member will receive access to Rippl.
- Rippl will remain available to patients outside Harbor Health’s network.
- Patients will need a primary-care referral.
- Medical records, prescriptions, caregiver accounts or care teams will change.
What to confirm now
Existing patients should verify whether their current care team, contact channels, coverage and appointment process remain unchanged. Prospective patients should ask about eligibility, service geography, insurance participation, out-of-pocket costs and referral requirements through Rippl’s Get Care page or directly with Harbor Health.

Rippl’s service is not automatically a substitute for emergency care, hands-on home-care aides, residential memory care or a complete diagnostic workup. Availability should not be assumed nationwide.
The economics behind dementia care
Dementia often requires sustained coordination among primary-care clinicians, specialists, caregivers, pharmacies, hospitals and post-acute providers. A patient may need help with medications, behavioral symptoms, safety, appointments and changes in functional status long after a single clinical visit ends.
That fragmentation creates a potential value-based-care opportunity. If early intervention and better coordination prevent some avoidable emergency visits or admissions, a payer or provider organization may benefit financially while patients and caregivers experience fewer disruptions.
Rippl has publicly promoted reductions in emergency-department visits and hospital admissions. Those claims should be treated as company-reported outcomes: the acquisition announcement does not independently establish the methodology, comparison group, patient population or causal effect. Harbor Health’s success will ultimately depend on independently measured results, including clinical outcomes, caregiver experience, access, continuity and total cost of care.

What is known about Rippl’s financing
GeekWire reported that Rippl raised $32 million in 2022 and $23 million in 2024. Those disclosed rounds represent at least $55 million in publicly reported funding, although that total should not be treated as an independently audited capitalization figure.

Rippl said these existing backers were making a new investment in the combined companies.
