The Pixel 9 family’s January 2025 Google Store sale is over. The U.S. promotion, reported on January 12, cut $150 from the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL, and $300 from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It was scheduled to end January 25, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PT. Treat the prices below as historical, not as a current offer. 9to5Google reported the promotion.
January 2025 Pixel sale prices
The reported U.S. Google Store prices were starting prices; the discount shown is the reduction from each model’s listed starting price. The report also identified the Pixel 8a as a separate deal.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL was part of the reported sale even though it was absent from the original headline. It is a separate, larger phone—not another name for the Pixel 9 Pro. The Fold’s $1,499 figure should not be assumed to cover every storage option: its launch configurations included 256 GB and 512 GB.

Which model made sense at those prices?
- Pixel 9 at $649: the lower-cost choice for someone who wanted a standard Pixel rather than Pro hardware. It has a 6.3-inch display, Tensor G4 and 12 GB of RAM. Google’s Pixel 9 page provides product details.
- Pixel 9 Pro at $849: a compact 6.3-inch option for buyers who wanted the Pro camera system, including telephoto hardware, and 16 GB of RAM. Its $200 premium over the sale-price Pixel 9 bought a different camera and Pro-tier feature set, not simply a faster version of the same phone. See Google’s Pro specifications.
- Pixel 9 Pro XL at $949: the larger conventional phone, with a 6.8-inch display and a larger battery than the regular Pro. The $100 step up from the Pro sale price chiefly suited buyers who preferred the bigger screen and battery.
- Pixel 9 Pro Fold at $1,499: the foldable for shoppers who specifically valued its 8-inch internal screen alongside a 6.3-inch outer display. Even after $300 off, it cost $550 more than the Pro XL and remained a substantially more expensive, more complex device. Google’s Fold specifications describe its screen and configurations.
These are price-and-specification comparisons, not claims from hands-on testing. A larger advertised saving does not automatically make the Fold the best value; its appeal depends on whether a foldable screen is worth the extra cost to you.

Where the prices were available—and what to check
The report described the promotion as a U.S. Google Store sale and said Amazon and Best Buy also offered the same headline prices at the time. That does not establish that those retailers still have the deal, or that every color, storage capacity or seller listing was included.
For any comparable offer, verify the exact model and storage capacity, seller identity, condition, return terms, warranty coverage and delivery availability. Retailer stock and terms can differ even when the displayed price matches. Google Store purchases generally offer an unlocked-phone buying route and Google’s own trade-in and financing processes; compare those terms with the retailer’s rather than assuming the total purchase experience is identical.

Sale price is not the whole cost
The listed sale price was an upfront device-price cut, not a guaranteed final checkout total. Sales tax, a storage upgrade, accessories, a protection plan or financing terms can change what you pay. Trade-in value depends on the old phone’s model and condition, so there is no universal trade-in-adjusted price. Confirm the offer’s terms for the specific device before counting a trade-in or other credit toward the total. Google’s current Pixel 9 Pro configuration page explains that its purchase options and trade-in estimates depend on the selected configuration and device.

Is the Pixel 9 sale still active?
No: the reported promotion’s January 25, 2025 deadline has passed. Current Google Store pages do not establish that the January sale prices remain available. The latest available Google Store listings for this article showed the Pixel 9 from $799 and Pixel 9 Pro from $999, while the offers page featured Pixel 10-series promotions. Prices, configurations and stock can change, so check the live listing and selected configuration before buying: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL, and Google Store offers.
A product page remaining online does not mean every color or storage tier is in stock. Availability may depend on configuration and ZIP code. The January deal was U.S.-specific; its prices should not be assumed to apply in other countries.
