HotHardware reported the following prices on November 9, 2024. Availability, seller, condition, colors, stock, and checkout requirements may have varied, and the source does not establish that every offer was funded by Google or available nationwide.

Were these really Black Friday deals?
“Early Black Friday” is retailer marketing, not the official shopping date. The report appeared on November 9, 2024, while Black Friday occurred on November 29, 2024. That timing created both an opportunity and a risk: shoppers could lock in a discount early, but later promotions could have been better.
Nothing in the report proves that these prices lasted until Black Friday, represented the lowest prices of the holiday season, applied to every storage tier or color, or were available without activation, financing, trade-in, or seller restrictions. Treat the figures as a historical snapshot, not a price guarantee.

Which Pixel 9 was the best value?
For most buyers, the reported $649 Pixel 9 128GB was the most practical deal. It delivered the core Pixel experience at the lowest listed price and avoided the much higher cost of a foldable. The reported $150 reduction was meaningful for shoppers who wanted a compact flagship phone but did not need a telephoto camera or a large multitasking screen.
The 256GB Pixel 9 at $749 made more sense for someone who planned to keep the phone for years, records substantial 4K video, or regularly runs short of storage. The additional $100 is worthwhile only if you will use it; cloud storage or deleting and transferring files may be cheaper for lighter users.

The 256GB Pixel 9 Pro Fold at $1,499 represented a substantial dollar reduction—about $300 compared with the launch-price level cited in the coverage—but it was not automatically a better bargain. It still cost more than twice the reported base Pixel 9 price. Its value depended on whether the buyer genuinely wanted a foldable device and its multitasking benefits.

The base Pixel 9 has a 6.3-inch Actua display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a 50MP main camera, and a 48MP ultrawide camera with Macro Focus. It uses Google’s Tensor G4 processor. Google and the original coverage claimed up to 24 hours of battery life, up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver, and approximately 55% charge in 30 minutes. Those are manufacturer or reported claims, not independent measurements.

Software features highlighted in the coverage included Gemini-related tools, document summarization, and Circle to Search. The Pixel 9 was therefore a strong fit for buyers prioritizing Google’s camera processing and software experience over maximum gaming performance.
Google’s official product information places the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL above the base model, with Tensor G4 and 16GB of RAM. The Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro XL has a 6.8-inch display. The November 2024 deal report did not provide a complete price matrix for those models, nor did it cover every storage configuration, carrier promotion, financing offer, trade-in credit, or store-credit incentive. Why the Pixel 9 Pro Fold cost more
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold combines an 8-inch inner display with a 6.3-inch outer display. The original coverage highlighted its thin foldable design, triple rear-camera system, 5x telephoto camera, up to 20x Super Res Zoom, Split Screen and drag-and-drop multitasking, and dual-screen Google Translate.
Those features can justify the premium for someone who reads, works, translates, or multitasks on a larger screen. They do not make the Fold the better choice for every buyer. A foldable also requires closer attention to hinge and screen protection, case compatibility, repair costs, insurance, and the retailer’s return and warranty terms.

What to check before buying an advertised deal
- Effective price: Separate an instant discount from trade-in credit, gift cards, store credit, and future carrier bill credits.
- Condition: Confirm that the phone is new rather than open-box, refurbished, or marketplace inventory.
- Lock status: Check whether it is unlocked or requires activation with a particular carrier.
- Seller: Verify whether Google, Best Buy, or a third-party marketplace seller is responsible for fulfillment, returns, and warranty support.
- Coupon rules: A coupon price is not automatic. Confirm the code, account requirement, expiration date, and final checkout total.
- Trade-in terms: Check the inspected value, condition requirements, payment timing, and what happens if the device is rejected.
- Financing: Calculate the total obligation and any required service period instead of focusing only on the monthly payment.
- Returns: Compare the holiday return deadline, restocking fees, and price-adjustment policy.
- Accessories: Budget for a case and screen protection. Fold-specific protection can be especially important for the Pro Fold.
Should you buy a Pixel 9 in 2026?
Do not use the November 2024 prices as a current buying benchmark. By August 2026, coverage reported that Pixel 11 preorders were live, so Pixel 9 is no longer the latest Pixel flagship. A Pixel 9 may still be sensible as clearance inventory, but its price should be materially below current-generation alternatives or justified by a specific budget advantage.
Check the Google Store’s current product listings, official offers page, and Best Buy’s Pixel deals page for live configuration-specific prices. The available historical information does not establish a dependable August 2026 price for the Pixel 9 family.
Alternatives
The Pixel 9 Pro or Pro XL may be worth considering if you need a telephoto camera, a more advanced display, or additional memory. Choose the Pro Fold only if its larger inner screen and multitasking features are central to how you use a phone.

The reported $749 price after an $80 coupon could appeal to gaming-focused buyers, but it is a specialized gaming-oriented Android phone—not a direct Pixel replacement. Camera processing, software experience, updates, and mainstream support should be evaluated separately.
For a current purchase, compare any remaining Pixel 9 inventory with Pixel 10 stock and Pixel 11 pricing rather than relying on the phone’s original launch positioning. Pixel 11 preorder coverage was already live by August 12, 2026, according to TechRadar.
